"An essential AI assistant for deep research and structured thinking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

The structured summaries, concept mapping, and question prompts are exceptional for accelerating deep comprehension of academic or technical content. It feels like having an intelligent thought partner guiding your reading and synthesis process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

While powerful, the current interface can sometimes feel linear and restrictive when handling multiple papers or themes in parallel. I would like to see better tagging, cross-paper linking, and workspace-level organisation features to manage larger research projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paperguide?

The seamless combination of deep research capabilities with an intuitive AI-powered editor. It makes synthesizing complex topics and drafting clear, academic-level text much easier. I also appreciate the clean UI and the promising updates, like the deep search feature, which truly expands its value as a serious research tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

Honestly, there’s not much to dislike. It would be great if it could search the broader web too, but overall, I’m really happy with how well it works for academic topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use AI research assistant"
5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

I like how the tool is easy to understand and use right from the start. I upload my documents and I can instantly start chatting with my documents and doing research and find exactly what I need. I also like how you can read and view the documents next to the AI chat. So you can reference what the AI is pulling from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

Sometimes the responses are not as thorough or detailed compared to using ChatGPT. I need to ask follow up questions to get more detailed information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent tool for conducting bibliographic searches more efficiently"
5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

“As a nutritionist and content creator, I regularly conduct bibliographic searches to support my posts with scientific evidence. This process of searching for information and selecting appropriate articles used to take me hours. With Paperguide, I can do the same in just one minute, and I also really like that it tells me whether the journal where the article is published is high-impact.” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

“So far, everything has been quite useful and efficient for me. The feature I use the least is Deep Research, but that’s simply because I’m not a researcher.” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Productivity Booster for Literature based writing"
5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

Good organization of Sources (Tags and Folders)

Customer support was available live when needed, competent and friendly.

3rd level support was able to fix a more complex issue with a document of mine within 24h.

I expect to start using the app more frequently, after an overwhelmingly positive experience with my first serious research article.

Relevant practical features are being added at a reasonable speed.

Many powerful advanced features (e.g. compare documents with a customizable table).

Big selection of citation styles.

Good search results.

Productivity boost of about factor 6-8 for me as a user new to the product (generally experienced in academic writing to high standards and use of AI writers). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

The many powerful features of Paperguide do require some time to work your way around in the app, to get the most out of it. I have not yet discovered all possibilities. So, the learning curve is comparably steep, but I expect with time, learning, and experience, the productivity boost provided by the product will even increase for me. But personally, I prefer to have these features over a product that is super intuitive to use, but lacks helpful functionality.

Ease of Use / Ease of Implementation:

For less experienced users the load of features might be a bit intimidating, so the product addresses frequent power users better than occasional use by less experienced users without academic background.

The reference manager often does not assign the right document type to a source, which makes manual corrections necessary, if citations should match academic standards.

Maybe the interface could provide an easy mode or assisted mode for less experienced users.

Ease of Integration:

Concerning the document writer, articles created can be exported as Word documents. Other formats would be desirable (.md, .rtf). I had some minor problems with loading the exported document into Word, but Word was able to auto fix the document. Import to the online version of Word did not work immediately. "New deep research function is great"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

There are certainly many similar tools around to manage references and summarize content of pdf files. In my opinion there is not much difference between the different tools and all are rather easy to use. But what I really like about paperguide is the newly introduced deep research allowing to get a quick starting point for new projects. And they are constantly improving teir product and listening to the concerns of their customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

The integration of researching literature within the writer could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI benefits whilst maintaining control"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paperguide?

Paperguide offers non-invasive AI integration when you need it without forcing a specific workflow which allows you to keep your stylistic integrity. The research features are incredibly advanced and this is clearly targeted for serious research papers/articles than listicles or the like.

Supports basically every citation style that I can think which is nice as most "competitors" stick to Harvard/AMA standards which isn't always appropriate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paperguide?

No desktop or android app options, hopefully this will be introduced soon as the ability to review papers without having to use a browser would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
