## PaperCut Reviews
  ### 1. Ability to easily track and control the printing and copying of a large enterprise.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

PaperCut's basic functionalities allow the printing and copying of a extremely large group of people with various needs to be easily tracked and controlled but, the extra functionality added in at no extra cost has allowed our organization to pivot to alternate means of printing when an existing method became obsolete (e.g. The loss of Google Cloud Printing replaced by Mobility Printing for 10,000+ Chromebooks using the Known Host Method).

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

The only thing that I don't like about PaperCut has nothing to do with it's ability to easily track and control printing and copying. My problem is simply that I do not like some of the menial tasks an administrator must do in order to administer some of the more esoteric features of the product. Now, mind you, the specific thing that pops up in my mind is something you only do once so I could be accused of being a lazy cry baby (e.g. recently having to manually change the Xerox.login Config value of each device definition from DEFAULT to DONOTSET to allow for a custom login message to be displayed on the front consoles of 425 Xerox copiers in our new leased fleet).

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

(1) Tracking and controlling the printing and copying of a large enterprise without the need to continually babysit the system.

(2) Allowing staff members to print from personal BYOD devices that are network isolated so that they are not able to contact our print servers.

(3) Allowing our many Chromebooks to print while restricting them to only seeing the print queues on their WiFi subnet. Additionally, the Known Host Method of Mobility Print allows us to only serve the classroom print server to the students and serve all four print servers to the staff which allows us to avoid having students see many queues that they do not have the network rights to use. This is huge because there is no error feedback with Mobility Print for lack of permissions or for having a zero account balance.

  ### 8. We have reduced our wastage & costs significantly and improved efficiency using PaperCut as our PMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed Saad M. | Mathematics Teacher, Software Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

First off, I like PaperCut's features that help us save costs and make maximum use of our budget like showing the estimated costs of prints before printing and giving alerts regarding changing to 'print on both sides' or printing 'black and white' in order to save costs. As an administrator, it is really easy for me to manage the queues and access all the printing and costs data across all devices. The user interface of PaperCut is really straightforward which makes printing and managing really easy. Another great feature of PaperCut is the secure print release feature which ensures that the prints are released only when that particular person is present near the printer (This helps us avoid question paper leaks during examinations). The ability to communicate with everyone regarding their usage of the printers is very helpful as well. The implementation of PaperCut was hassle-free and took just a few hours. Overall, it provides loads of information which helps us in looking for ways to minimise our printing costs which minimizes paper usage hence helping the environment.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

The customer support team is not very responsive which lead to us having to postpone a few printing tasks at times. Additionally, PaperCut releases new versions quite frequently which results in us having to upgrade the software in all devices every few months in order to ensure that all the printers and devices have the latest software installed.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At our educational institution, we use PaperCut to print question papers, study resources and confidential documents like hall tickets. It helps us cut down costs and improve efficiency. As an administrator, I can assign budgets and limits to make sure the printers are being used appropriately. I can also view various data metrics like number of prints, how many of them were black and white and two-sided prints etc which helped me in communicating with my colleagues and guiding them in regards to saving printing costs. During examinations or events, we print upwards of tens of thousands of pages and PaperCut helps us in saving a lot of money and time. We have been using PaperCut for 6-7 years now and my experience with it has been top-notch. It has helped us cut on a lot of paper wastage with its amazing features which I have mentioned above.

  ### 9. Professional customer care team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noor F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

Three years down the road, I have been using PaperCut and it is such a great tool that I like most among the software I have used for the following reasons.

1. PaperCut has a professional support team, they are responsive to questions anytime you contact them.

2. Printing remotely is very easy and you can easily forecast your spending budget on the printing

3. They do not hike their pricing like our former provider, you pay less and you get more work done in the shortest time.

4. They provide free integration with cloud tools like Google Drive to keep the document soft copy remotely

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

When you connect the tool to more computers on a single network, the printers become too slow and hence affect the timely delivery of our prints.

The tool can become more expensive in the long run as your printing demand becomes high so you should understand the budget before opting to use PaperCut.

Their video documentation needs an update as most of the explainer videos do not match with the software updates, I wish they would update their explainer videos.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaperCut is helping me and our company to bulk print documents that we use as marketing materials, infographics and billboard banners, having this tool has helped us achieve more sales while reducing the spending budget on software since it does not require any monthly subscription.

  ### 10. Good product, but limited Google connectivity across multiple tenancies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** M L. | Director of IT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

Easy to manage
produce accounting information
works on a range of devices
ability for users to select the budget to be billed
works on a range of devices

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

It does not allow us to connect one instance to multiple google tenancies

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing costs and waste
Ability to monitor usage (and abusage)

  ### 11. PaperCut is cost friendly and with good customer care

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atimango J. | Software developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

I got a good impression with the PaperCut team and they were all responding and welcoming which gave me a quick impression to try the software. However, after several years (three years), I am still using the software and I like the following:

Cloud storage - The software provided enough easy cloud storage and allowed us to integrate the tool with Google Cloud which proved to us a lot of security and data protection.

Timely service delivery - The team delivers work on time, even when we have huge printing work, the software and the team behind PaperCut are committed to delivering our work on time.

Cheap and scalability - The tool does not cost a lot of money on subscriptions, you pay for what you use and the task you need to use the tool for which does not affect any revenue of our company ever since then.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

It is now three years down the road while we are using PaperCut at our company in the printing sector.

Much as this review is incentivized, there should be honest review and here are the few things I have observed from the tool.

At times, customer care would delay responding to technical questions where the tool would fail to connect with our computers, we reached out to them and they delayed responding.

If you have more computers to connect with the tool, there will be slow connectivity which interferes with printing and hence time-consuming.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our printing problem has been solved and we are happy to see that PaperCut is helping us print thousands of documents per day without slowing down. The tool has increased our efficiency and productivity.

  ### 12. Saves us a lot of time and costs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luule M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

PaperCut has left a positive impression on our printing and photocopying processes. It provides efficient management of paper usage and associated costs within our company.

The software is fully compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux, allowing us to seamlessly implement it across all these operating systems. Notably, every print request is meticulously handled by the network, displaying the cost per sheet in an organized manner.

The user-friendly customization interface simplifies navigation and configuration, enabling us to organize prints by departments and folders effectively.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

Occasionally, the printing process halts even after payment has been made.

The existing integrations with Google Drive and OneDrive function well, however, additional integration options with PaperCut would be beneficial.

I've communicated several issues to the support team, but often, these concerns are overlooked, leading to significant frustration on my end.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool has proven to be invaluable to me as the majority of our customer interactions occur via video conferencing on remote platforms. PaperCut simplifies the process of gathering information by automatically storing it and then proceeds to print the data that has been collected and approved during each online meeting.

  ### 13. Professional printing tool which saves environment.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Latifah A. | Community manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

I like the User interface, which is easy and smoothly polished, you can easily connect multiple printers to print at once which saves a lot of time.

The tool has more advanced security features as it does not allow users who are not authorized to access data which guarantees a lot of data protection and privacy.

They provide quicker integration with Google Drive and OneDrive which gives us more additional storage for our documents and prints.

Lastly, I appreciate the customer care team who provide us with ample support any time we contact them.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

Although they provide integrations with Google Drive and One Drive, the process sometimes gets stuck and the integration fails.

The user interface on wider screens should be improved a little more to meet our expectations.

Since the tool depends on servers, when the connection is slow, the printing process becomes slow and suggests restarting which affects our productivity.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has saved us on expenses when we implemented the tool to prevent paper wastage from our company and also the tool is helping us save the enviroment around us, giving us a good environment free from paper. I have observed a significant increase in ROI ever since we deployed the tool by a 30% increase and hence the tool is more beneficial to us.

  ### 14. PaperCut is a great solution to solve print managment nightmares

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd T. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

I like their central management and reporting ability. It's also very helpful to enable our student Chromebooks to print with very little hassle. Support has been very helpful evertime I've reached out them.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

Ocassionally the printers don't show up on some chromebooks- but with a few login/logout attempts, they usually show up.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaperCut has allowed us to track who is partaking in wasteful printing, as well as help in the investigation of "Who printed this" questions from teachers and administrators. They also have made Chromebook printing very simple to deploy.

  ### 19. Reliable follow me print solution with good support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

Easy to setup and maintain. Support is excellent. Dailed end users find it easy to use.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

Some on-device features missing compared to competitiors, eg equitrac - such as ability to change some printer settings on release. Cloud pritning is expensive add on.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We safe a lot of wasted paper and toner by using follow-me queues. The flexibility of staff wokring away from the office to send their printing to the queues and collect them up to two weeks later is very useful.

  ### 20. PaperCut Review: Comprehensive Print Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan T. | Head of Product and Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about PaperCut?**

As a regular user of PaperCut, what I appreciate most is its comprehensive print management capabilities that significantly reduce waste and control costs. The ability to track and monitor all printing activities across the organization is incredibly valuable. It provides insights into user behavior and printing patterns, enabling us to make informed decisions about resource allocation. The Secure Print Release feature is another highlight; it enhances document security and privacy by ensuring that printouts are only released when the user is physically present at the printer. Additionally, the user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate and manage settings, even for those who aren't tech-savvy. Lastly, the environmental impact features, like promoting double-sided printing, align well with our organization's sustainability goals, helping us reduce paper waste effectively.

**What do you dislike about PaperCut?**

There are a few aspects that can be challenging. Firstly, the initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially in a large or diverse network environment. It requires a good understanding of your network and printer setup, which can be daunting for those without technical expertise. Secondly, while the software is robust, its extensive features can sometimes be overwhelming, making it difficult to find and use specific functions quickly. Thirdly, the cost can be a consideration, especially for small businesses or educational institutions with limited budgets. Although PaperCut offers significant cost-saving potential in the long run, the initial investment might be high. Lastly, integration with certain types of printers or non-standard devices can sometimes be less straightforward, requiring additional customization or troubleshooting.

**What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaperCut primarily solves the issue of unregulated and insecure printing in my organization, which translates into both enhanced security and cost savings. With its Secure Print Release feature, documents are held in a secure queue and only released when users authenticate themselves at the printer, greatly reducing the risk of sensitive information being left exposed. This has significantly increased the confidentiality of our printed materials. Furthermore, by tracking and managing print usage, PaperCut helps identify and eliminate unnecessary printing, leading to substantial reductions in paper and ink consumption. This not only saves costs but also aligns with our environmental sustainability goals. Overall, PaperCut has been instrumental in streamlining our print management, ensuring security, and promoting responsible usage of resources.
