Pantheon is a great platform for large or complex sites, or where the reliability of the site is paramount. The development workflow is standard-setting, and the security and CDN seem rock-solid. Pantheon's multidev structure can complicate smaller tasks at times, so you need to know what you're doing if you're part of the team managing it. It's also much pricier than other options.
