I use Palo Alto global protect for my work-related search and browsing content over the Internet. The VPN works so smoothly and the best part is I have never ever experienced the tool being stuck or hanging which caused trouble in the overall access of the internet. I have experienced this issue sometimes that it was taking a lot of initial run time to get connected, sometimes even more than 5 minutes, the tool just showed connecting, but not get connected. The app 'Global Protect' comes pre-installed with my company's laptop. I like the following things about this app,

- It makes it possible to access my organisation's resources like confluence page, ssh to cluster, code base and database like I am working from the office.

- The best part is you can work from anywhere in the world with any internet connection.

- It supports different gateway access hence you may switch to a different gateway if one of them is flooded with network traffic.

- The interface is super easy, with one click you can connect/disconnect.

- It provides multiple options to connect like 'GoogleAuthenticator', 'Okta verify', and 'Okta verify push'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only downside I face while connecting to Global Protect is that sometimes when I use 'Okta Verify Push' to authenticate and verify it using my phone, it again asks me to input the password. This is very annoying, please fix this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part I like about the Global Protect VPN is that we can access my private network and also access the public internet securely.

I have privileges to monitor the GP-connected users that which sites, URL access by the users and also restrict the users with the help of IP basis and user base policy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most irritating thing is that many times after connecting to Global Protect I have to face the slowness in internet speed.

Second thing is that many times without any reason it gives a random error like certificate error wrong tenant error on Prisma SASE, Gateway unresponsible error and after restarting the PAN GPS service in working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GlobalProtect has been used by our organization to securely connect to the Corporate system and collaborate with our global peers - further the secure login while working from home where everyone is on their personal or public networks has ensured a sense of security by routing all our communication with the Global Protect and its VPN services on - the fact that the even after going on the secure network the system performance; network speed etc remain robust is very efficient about using GlobalProtect. No major downsides were noticed except that there are at times some 'auto logouts'/ 'drops' from the network and then re-login needs to be done and this is something that can be corrected; further when the personal network drops sometimes logging back in the Global Protect VPN is a challenge and is time-consuming Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
