Although I did not directly administer the firewall or setup PaloAlto infrastructure for my org environment, I can give some feedback as both an administrator & its user. As an end user, I liked how the network traffic is both allowed & restricted at the same time. As an administrator, it is very easy to control the kind of access you want to allow your users. Moreover, troubleshooting any issue is hassle free when you have a community forum & knowledge base. Even the installation of the client on endpoints is pretty easy. You don't necessarily need someone from IT to configure it on endpoints. We have thousands of users, using it every day working remotely, especially since the covid & mandatory WFH. Implementing any big change can be challenging for an org size of 30k employees. We were using Cisco AnyConnect before which in my opinion was horrible. Moving to GlobalProtect was the best decision our leadership has made. We had different authentication methods over the course but it was surprising to see how easily it was integrated with each of them. Of Couse Azure turned out to be the best in the end. Nevertheless, you have many options. You also get a community where you can get help for any common or repeat issues but the tricky unique ones are very well addressed by the Palo Alto Tech Support. Although I love the service, some obvios factors might impact small orgs that cannot use this service. From what I know, the products are very expensive vs Cisco AnyConnect. It also requires a lot of resources such as CPU, memory & bandwidth. So if someone with less bandwidth is using it, they might face issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With the palo alto license Global Protect is the best VPN client that i know, easy to use, Secure, easy to implement and take the control for remote clients connections, i use Global protect every day and i never have connections problem Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Only this which i disliked is that encryption and decryption processes involved in securing network traffic impacts network latency, especially when dealing with high volumes of traffic or when accessing resource-intensive applications. Palo Alto is a great mobile VPN and access management tool. We generally use Palo Alto to connect to a secure VPN network to keep our internal data safe and secure from foreign threats. It is an access management platform to log in to the office network and work-related applications. The best thing is the connection and usage is so smooth and easy. The push notifications are sometimes delayed, though the internal servers and applications send the sign-on access push to the Palo Alto app, it comes at least 5-10 seconds lately to the mobile app, it has happened several times. This can be fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
