"Granular App-ID/User-ID Control with an Intuitive UI and Powerful API Integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

The granular visibility and control provided by their App-ID and User-ID technologies stand out. Rather than relying on traditional ports and protocols, it enables the creation of precise, zero-trust security policies based on the actual applications in use and the users behind them. Also, The design is highly intuitive, making it easy to navigate through complex security policies and network settings without a steep learning curve. Furthermore, its robust REST API and seamless integration with third-party applications and orchestration tools make automating security workflows and extending capabilities incredibly straightforward. What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

The high initial hardware costs, coupled with expensive recurring licensing fees for essential security subscriptions, can make it a significant investment that may not fit tighter IT budgets. Even though performance is superb, it comes at a cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost-Effective, Easy Setup, Bulky Hardware Concerns"
5/5
What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

I find the licensing cost of Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls to be very interesting. What I like is that it now comes in the cloud as well, which means I don't have to have infrastructure on-premise. I can go for the SaaS solution, and it's easy to access. Administrators have full privileges to access and configure, and maintenance is simpler since there's no need to replace hardware every few years or increase ports—everything is virtual and quite easy to manage. In terms of cost, it's flexible, which is another thing I appreciate. Additionally, setting up is quite easy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

I wish there was some improvement in the racking mechanism because the physical firewalls, like the 5,000 series, are quite bulky and require a two u or four u rack size. It's not that easy to mount them, and having only two clips to hold the fiber isn't enough. A better racking system would make it easier for a couple of people to work with it. In terms of licensing, I hope the licensing factors will change maybe based on market strategy. That's really the only feedback I have about the hardware and licensing aspects. "Honestly, it just works. Highly recommend."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

It just works cohesively. You don’t have to jump through hoops to get threat prevention, URL filtering, and application control to play nice together. The interface is intuitive, and once your policies are set up, you can actually trust the system to do its job without constantly babysitting it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

The pricing is incredibly steep. While the security is top-tier, the licensing model is heavily fragmented; having to pay separate, expensive subscriptions for every core feature (like Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, and WildFire) makes the overall cost of ownership hard to swallow.
