Paintshop is an exceptional tool for its wide variety of filters and effects to improve the colors of photos or images.

It has functions to repair photos or remove defects.

The user interface is friendly, making it easy to familiarize yourself with the tools.

It is a low-cost software that also offers download insurance for two years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

It is not cross-platform software. It is only available for Windows.

In the latest updates the software has been requesting more and more memory resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A friendly and efficient alternative VS slower but more complete programs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

Without a doubt, what fascinated me most is that the tool is super intuitive, as a designer I can make the most of the options that the tool has in each space, however, I could also recommend it to colleagues who are not necessarily designers, because it becomes as simple as "click" and choosing the workspace according to your needs, achieving visually more attractive designs and in less time. In addition to that being a lighter program it renders images in less time than photoshop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

Using the workspace “Complete”, when waiting to have a preview of the possible effects it becomes a bit impractical to have to search between sub-folders , or to have to choose one by one among the classifications of the effects panel or to check if it is the one you need. "Paintshop Pro fast, reliable and clean"
4/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

To start off, Paintshop Pro is a tool which provides a free trial which in my book is always a positive besides that the tool has a great number of tools that can be used to manipulate/edit photos. these tools are fairly optimized and the program runs well on medium-end computers/laptops. I also really enjoy its UI and how the tools perform and their functionalities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

I dislike that I cant run Paintshop Pro on a low-end computer since the program requires a lot of processing power. I also dislike the lack of some tools that I deem necessary. This can be solved by adding some open-source plugins that its community has developed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very professional image editor with many tools"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

This image editor is one of the tools that has more and is one that is used for professional editions, but it is also very easy to use, with an intuitive design where we can perform jobs from basic to advanced level, we can import several types of images, add transparencies, effects, saturations, trimmed, color removal, rendering and many other things, as well as we can adjust the quality of the files, we can also organize by layers to separate the editions to make it easier when selecting and joining them , all editing tools are excellent Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

In the selections by layers I think that I should have the default selection of adjusted and when deleting an image I think it should be abbreviated with the delete key... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Decent photo editor, but features are hard to find and use"
4/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

It does a decent job of editing actual photos and the ability to see all of your photos in the program and then select which ones you want to edit is nice.

You can also create and run scripts to quickly make common, repetitive adjustments to photos Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

If you have used Adobe Photoshop like I have, you will find yourself constantly confused about where common features are or how to use them. For example, there is a menu that lists all of the effect you can apply to an image, but if you are looking to create a blur you won't find it there. It would instead be under the Adjust menu.

This is primarily a photo editor, and is not ideal for editing screenshots or adding/drawing things like callouts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great photo editing and manipulation at a very affordable price"
5/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

Paintshop Pro does just about everything photo/image-related and it does it well. I mostly use it to manipulate photos and graphics for use in video projects or for use on web sites. I have also it for some more creative, artistic manipulation of photos. It's easy to use and works reliably. It has so many filters and effects. There are "easy" effects, where just one click will clean up a photo and improve the colors/exposure. Then there are all kinds of more sophisticated effects that require more effort to use, but they give you all kinds of capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

For my purposes, I have not come across anything to dislike, outside of occasionally being criticized by some snobby Adobe Photoshop user for not using Adobe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great photo-editing at a cheaper price then Photoshop"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Paintshop Pro?

I'm always trying new photo-editing tools, and Paintshop Pro trial is no different.

- I consider it to have a comparable editing tools to Photoshop(good effects, good library of brushes/picture tubes/gradients/textures/etc), at a lower price point which is always a plus.

- It has a much better tutorial section for beginners(to editing and to the program) as well a good amount of info in the help section.

- I like that the interface is streamline and accessible, it's not cluttered with options and tools as some other tools (most of the time).

- In addition you also get decent vector drawing tools, geo tagging, face recognition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paintshop Pro?

- It's noticeably slower than Photoshop;

- It has some problems with chromatic aberration removal;

- No support for MacOS; Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
