"Pages is the ugly stepsister to Microsoft Word."

What do you like best about Pages?

As a Mac user, I like using Pages because it integrates with my computer so well. Pages is fairly user-friendly, especially if you have experience with another word processing software. There is nothing especially difficult about Pages; it is basically what one would expect it to be. I also appreciate the fact that I am able to export my Pages document as other file types, just in case I am transferring my work to someone without the ability to open a Pages file. What do you dislike about Pages?

My biggest gripe with Pages is mostly that it is not Microsoft Word. Since Word is more commonly used, most people can accept .doc files, whereas Pages documents often run into trouble when trying to be shared. Although there is an option to export your file as a Word document, I have run into trouble with my page formatting when I have done so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Pages:

For anyone considering Pages, my best suggestion would be to use it only if your entire workplace or company is going to commit to Pages as well. Because the ability to export and share files with non-Pages users is imperfect, I would not use Pages if I primarily worked with people who were using something more common, like Google Docs or Microsoft Word. What problems is Pages solving and how is that benefiting you?

I would not say that Pages has solved any particular problems for me. In a pinch, I use Pages because I am a Mac user, so it is the preferred Mac software, but in general, Pages is not my preferred method for writing documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing word processor software"

What do you like best about Pages?

Very user-friendly, this software is far better than its main competitor, Microsoft Word. Pages allows us to use two work modes: word processor mode (like Word) or layout mode (more like InDesign). This is very helpful. Apple rarely does anything bad. And, in addition, it's free for Mac users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pages?

Sometimes, some images are in tricky positions. I have to be very careful that any images are in "Move with Text" instead of "Stay on Page" mode (default option) in "Object Placement section", because images will not be moving with text, so it will create a big mess (text and images are all mixed). Recommendations to others considering Pages:

If you are a Mac user, consider this free software instead of other Office Suite like Open Office or Libre Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pages solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've created few documents with Pages and it's very helpful for employees that not have depth graphic design skills. It not requires any particular complex software skills (like Adobe InDesign). "A great word processing software"

What do you like best about Pages?

Actually Pages is much more than word processing software. For example it is possible to insert images independent of the text and also the copy / paste from Illustator works very well, with vector elements. I also use it a lot on my iPad Pro and all documents are saved in the Cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pages?

It doesn't have a great compatibility with Microsoft Word, even if I do the export in that format. Personally I only use Pages, but it happens that I need to export a document for people who use only Word and it could be a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pages?

What do you like best about Pages?

Having used several other competitors to Pages for years, I have found the ease of Pages's UI to be so refreshing. Instead of searching through tons of tabs and menus, it's so easy to find what I'm looking for! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pages?

The main downside to using Pages is just that, as this format can only be opened on Apple computers, I often have to save several versions of a document to ensure compatibility and readability on different devices. Usually .pages, .docx, and .pdf versions are needed. There's just a lot of duplicated documents on my computer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pages?

I like that it's not bloated with features I'd never need. It's simple to use, but has the ability to handle most of my needs. I am a professional writer and publisher, so this is one of the main programs I use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
