What do you like best about Pageflex?

Like the ability of the program to "flex" so that one main template could be credited for multiple designs to be distributed to a variety of clients. Also got to work on a lot of unique projects like producing the season ticket holder booklets for the local hockey and baseball team. This was a very in depth project that used barcodes, multiple dates, seats, images and team logo. It was crucial that everything was just right and Pageflex made this project much more manageable. What do you dislike about Pageflex?

A lot of clients wanted the capability to have a drop shadow. We were able to make a work around and create the files InDesign and import them into the pageflex files but it was very time consuming. Also would be interested in future capabilities that would connect to excel. A lot of times we would have to manipulate the data to work with Pageflex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Pageflex:

It's a great program once you get the hang of it. There is a huge learning curve but luckily I had a co-worker that was an expertise that was able to guide me. I feel like it took about a month to feel comfortable in the program and another 2-3 months to hardly need any guidance anymore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pageflex solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sending out a lot of VDP postcards and brochures for colleges. Also, used storefront a lot for internal company ordering of custom posters, business cards and pamphlets. Really helped to streamline so many projects. Enjoyed the ability that the Storefront gave our clients; saved our customer service reps and designer times and clients got to instantly see what their business cards, poster, etc was going to look like. What do you like best about Pageflex?

Pageflex's preview function for generating variables saves SO much time for testing products. Other programs require a full sync to a website in order to test the programmed variables, especially asset-linked images and word lists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pageflex?

The PDF previews in Pageflex are a bit archaic in regards to loading speed and image quality. I usually have to create a lower-resolution version of every image that could be displayed in the PDF preview in order for the generation time/quality to function properly. While this is a successful work-around to the issue, this only works with pre-uploaded images available in the programming choices. Consequently, the issue persists with user-uploaded images. Recommendations to others considering Pageflex:

I have programmed products with over 100 variables, and Pageflex has been able to accommodate all customer requests. The only issue I have ever come across is the limitations with generate high-resolution files via the PDF preview. As some magazine articles can be well over 100 pages in length, adjusting or creating lo-resolution versions of page images can be quite cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pageflex?

It is very user friendly. You can program without having programming language skills. It is fun to use and there are several different ways to use Pageflex, whether it is for a Storefront with customizable templates or if it is used for automating mail merges. What do you dislike about Pageflex?

It is a great application, but is possibly becoming obsolete. It has not had any major updates with more sophisticated features added for a long time. Inline editing did not function very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pageflex solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have used several applications for building customizable templates including Chili Publish, XMPie, and a tool called LiveDocs which was part of the Seismic Sales enablement solution. Pageflex has one advantage over these products in that it has auto-grow capabilities. For instance you can set it up to automatically insert additional pages if a user enters a large amount of text into a field. You can also set up a variable length document, and give users the option to select a single page pdf, or a multiple page pdf and the document will auto-grow to accomodate this.
