"Amazing support"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

Simple, easy-to-use product. API and CLI enable package upload through automated CI/CD processes.

A feature request I submitted received an immediate response and I was able to schedule a meeting with support and engineering to further define my request and identify possible interim solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

To support multiple versions of the same OS, I have to upload a package multiple times (Debian Buster, Bullseye, etc.).

Each separate repository requires a unique token; customers with access to multiple repositories require multiple tokens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User Experience"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

PackagCloud is a great piece of software, and it's great for enterprises and open-sourcers to set up a working repository in just a few minutes.Different from competitors, only packagecloud is available on some services to maintain exclusivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

Packagecloud is great. We love everything about it.For packagecloud no projects I can't work.More and better services and structures can be launched to make users feel better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easiest Debian repo I’ve found"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

Easy creation of Debian repository. Any other solution requires going through many steps or details, resulting in a poor result anyway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

Packages can be moved, but not stay in 2 repos. For example, staging and production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best experience to quickly set up a package repository"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

It's easy, quick and effective.

I have prior experience with Bintray, Artifactory and PackageCloud is by far the easiest of them. In just a few minutes, you have what you want: a working repository easy to set up for users. The website is plenty of documentation and it guides you through all the process.

For businesses and open-sourcers it's great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

Having deb and rpm repositories it would be great having repositories for other distributions like Archlinux or Gentoo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Making package repositories simple"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

Packagecloud makes deploying package repositories simple. I am the TSC Chair of the FD.io Open Source Project. We publish deb and rpm packages as part of both our CI and release process for VPP (Vector Packet Processing) and other subprojects. Packageclouds easy to use API made integrating into our CI process easy and enjoyable. The breadth of language bindings allowed us to fit packagecloud into our process rather than molding our process to packagecloud. Prior to using packagecloud we'd tried other tools, like Nexus, for artifact hosting but they were a nightmare to work with and maintain. Packagecloud's hosted approach removed the headache of maintaining a repository. The thoughtful team mechanisms provided allowed us to provide just the right access to our CI processes and community members to get the job done. I cannot recommend Packagecloud highly enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

Package cloud is great. We like everything about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Nice to use deb/rpm repository hosting (with open-source plan)"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

We are using packagecloud.io with open-source plan for https://milter-manager.osdn.jp/

For every new milter-manager release, we don't need to maintain our own APT/YUM repository by ourselves anymore.

As milter-manager is developed for a long time, the repository also contains many packages, it takes disk space a lot.

packagecloud.io provides enough disk spaces for keeping milter-manager repository.

And one more thing, we don't need to maintain signing-key by ourself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

We are very satisfied with packagecloud.io. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great package repository with the option to promote package from development to production repo"
What do you like best about packagecloud?

We have switched to packagecloud recently. The one feature I really like is the ability to "Promote" packages from one repository to the other.

That allows us to test new packages much faster than ever before. We upload packages that are ready for testing to our Dev repository, and when we are ready to release it, it takes a single CLI command or a single click on the packagecloud web UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about packagecloud?

It would be great if there was an easy way to integrate GitHub Actions and packagecloud. The idea is that packages built by GitHub Actions would automatically upload to our Dev repo.

Updated: One of our team members submitted the packagecloud and GitHub Actions (GH) action to the GH Marketplace, and we are now using that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
