"The Best LaTeX Editor out there!!"
5/5
What do you like best about Overleaf?

1. Awesome User Interface

2. Supportive and easy tutorials

3. Supports all kinds of document formats

Overleaf has been a tremendous help for me when I started learning LaTeX. Its tutorials are never-ending and very informative with examples. Best platform recommended for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

My experience with overleaf has been amazing. But I would really love it if they have some material on error handling. There are also some debugging problems when coding, this can be improved too. Some file formats cannot show detailed graphics and panning the document is not fluid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Learning Curve is Intense but it is OKAY"
3/5
What do you like best about Overleaf?

Setting up an account is very easy.

If you work in an educational institution or you are a student, when you login with your student account or academic account, you get access into a free account.

The software provides a good interface and also there are many free templates for any documentation you want to create.

The support from the latex guide is great (if you are using latex) It is a very useful LaTex editor for sure.

It is much more transparent than many other competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

It is online so you are in need of being online when using the system.

For me, the learning curve of how to work on it was pretty intense as I have no experience coding.

Sometimes you will have issues retrieving your documents and it is often that you might receive error messages

It is a paid program Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ready-to-go Google Docs for LaTeX"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Overleaf?

It has many packages already available (good CTAN integration). It has good auxiliary file management, so you can upload what you need -- .png, .pdf, .bib, .txt -- and you can store them in folders or however. The collaborative text editing itself is pretty instantaneous, like Google Docs, and that works well. Then, as a TeX editor, it's pretty decent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

-Some uploaded files can't easily be viewed (like included PDF graphics).

-There's no revision tracking or rollback (although there is a "track changes" mode)

-Viewing and navigating the generated PDF might not be as fluid as some people want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and intuitive report writing tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Overleaf?

With a coding environment, compiler, and reviewer in a single place. May also include folders containing pictures and documents. Intuitive and flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

It is somewhat limited when it comes to debugging in the code. At the same time, it should've been some tutorials or otherwise guides as to how to create the document most efficiently. At the time of this review, no indicators are stating that large images would drastically increase the time of the compiler. It is, of course, reasonable to assume, but still. Slight adjustments of picture sizes may decrease compiles from minutes to seconds, which should've been more clearly stated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
