## Overleaf Reviews
  ### 1. One of the best web applications to work with LaTeX documents

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vatsal P. | Student, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

The UI / UX is extremely good and fast. The best thing about Overleaf is how it renders PDF of the resulting LaTeX document right away, as soon as code is saved and compiled. This WYSIWYG interface is very helpful. Besides, it has other fantastic features like uploading documents, projects, working on multiple projects at the same time, making it a complete package. One really nifty feature is how it ignores minor errors and still renders documents, making it easier to work with the rendered PDF in spite of errors. This is helpful when deadlines are looming and you don't have time to correct minor syntax errors. The number of community based templates it provides for a large number of use cases is amazing. And did I mention it already? All of this is for free!

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

While Overleaf is a fantastic web application, it has some areas where it can improve. The code compilation takes a really long time the first time a project is loaded. Autocomplete in Overleaf can be a hit or a miss.

**Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:**

Now that Overlead and ShareLaTeX are integrated into one software, Overleaf is probably the best way to prepare LaTeX documents online.

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have done all of my LaTeX documents in Overleaf. It's hassle-free, easy to learn, and quick to get started with lots of templates.

  ### 2. Design a professional CV.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

I have started to use overleaf to desing a CV and I found out Overleaf is really useful and helpful for CV designing.

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

As a dislike method of use can be considered because you need to know a bit of knowledge about coding.

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was a difficulty to learn how to use but then it made my CV like a professional one.

  ### 3. Ideal LaTex Editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego A. | Computer Hardware Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

Overleaf has several benefits. It makes latex editing easy to do. It is a world foremost online collaborative writing and publishing platform which makes writing, proofreading and editing of scientific articles and journals easy and stress-free. It is one of the best latex editing tools around

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

The good attribute of Overleaf far outweighs its lapses. I think it is an ideal tool for writing and collaborating.

**Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:**

Overleaf gives you more than your investment. It is a brilliant collaborating and writing tool. It is one tool you must try

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing and proofreading of my scientific journals and reports has never been easier. With overleaf, I can write latex without any prior setup or expertise. It is brilliant

  ### 4. Write your papers and forget about "moving" pics and tables all over your work!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria M. | MsC Civil Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

It just took me a while to learn how to use it. It's fabulous how you can easily implement your high-quality pics and tables, and the references without keeping yourself track of them.
Overleaf helps you specially in terms of space, since all the information is online. You just upload the information (text, pictures, tables, references) and everything will be just there when loging in.

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

The way the references are implemented is tricky when you come from Office to Latex. But once you got it, it's really easy!

The only bad thing when sharing the created document with non-latex experts:
- you need to upgrade since Overleaf in its basic package only offers the possibility to create the pdf. In the upgraded version you can create other "Office" documents.

Until you know that keeping the pdf refreshing takes a lot of time and needs almost all your RAM working to do so... you waste some precious time!

**Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:**

Forget about other text processing software, if you need to write quality papers and not being fighting against pictures moving around, use Latex, and use Overleaf. It is everything in the cloud, and you forget about keeping a lot of space for the high-quality pictures you implement.

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using overleaf to write my research papers. The layout provided by the different journals helps you a lot, and you forget about reviewing all the writing rules from each journal.

  ### 5. The best way to create LaTeX documents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maike H. | Graduate Research Assistant, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

Overleaf makes it easy to create LateX documents. Signing up for a basic account is simple and easy, and Overleaf has tons of templates to choose from to get started. I also like that you have the option to upload auxiliary files (e.g. images) to use with documents. Compilation is fast, and unlike many other LateX editors, error messages are understandable.

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

If you have many or large images, compilation will take a long time, and with a free account, you may encounter session time-outs if compilation takes too long. Since Overleaf is only available with an internet connection, you can't work on documents offline, which is annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:**

I would highly recommend this to anyone who regularly writes documents using LateX. In my opinion, it is easier and less frustrating to use than other LateX editors. With a paid account, you also have the added benefit of sharing the documents with more authors.

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've written almost all my research reports using Overleaf. Because Overleaf is easy to use, I've been more productive because I've spent less time decoding LateX error messages and more time communicating my results. Also, because it is free, I've saved my organization money.

  ### 6. Overleaf is Best LaTeX Editor for advance and beginner

Overleaf is one of the best online LaTex editor. overleaf is a fantastic LaTex editor which offers unique features like bib file generation, default templates, easy image insertion, built-in document viewer, Multi-language spell check, tex Templates.

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

In browser, it's open only one project in all tab you can not open multiple projects at a time.so you can work in one project at a time.

**What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I already used many LaTex editors but overleaf is more useful because it has inbuilt all libraries and templates which is very handful.

  ### 7. Extremely easy to use; only lacking in collaborative ease

I also like the collaboration editing function while also tracking the changes each user makes.

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Overleaf?**

The ability to share LaTeX documents and work simultaneously on them is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Overleaf?**

Local IDE's like texmaker or LaTeXtools for Sublime Text offer the ability to work on documents offline, as well as the possibility to use more packages and shortcuts. This of course comes at a cost, including the learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:**

Overleaf is most powerful when synced to Dropbox. However, that price involves a $15/mo. subscription, which may not make it worth it. There are other features available with this subscription, however, so check it out.

Documentation development and journal article writing. Overleaf makes it useful to collaborate over such materials.
