Literally, on a simple white piece of paper, with only one or two font style and some bondings here and there, it will give the best alignment which you have been looking for. The systematic sections, many users working on the same Latex document from the overleaf,easy to use (like the resources are installed aldready, you just have to write the code!), there are so many benefits when it comes to overleaf. **What do you dislike about Overleaf?** Not many dislikes, but yes, whenever i tried editing my code, well having saved my code 30 min ago, got me worried as internet breakage may cause data loss. Not the fault of the site, but surely we must maintain internet connectivity. Also, we might face complexities in writing the code at the start. **What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?** As any student requires their resume to be perfect, this site will surely make it happen. Also, the template searching makes it easier for the work to be done. You can be an expert in Latex coding as well. When making reports, IEEE papers, overleaf is key to go with. Mainly, real time updation feature, meaning whatever changes you make, it gets reflected in your document within a second or two, that is, you can see whats happening with your document, is it erroring out, or need any additional changes, also making your fellow team mates to look into this when working on a project, and you can download the document for free as much as you want! ### 4. It's a life-saver to now be able to edit collaborative manuscripts and have the changes tracked. Before I had to export the .tex file to word, track changes there, make changes in Word, then convert back to .tex to comntinue working in Latex. This was a very involved process and lots of things needed to be changed by hand. When Overleaf incproparted the track change feature from ShareLatex, it was a game changer and I now exclusivly work in Overleaf on Latex files, and have the paid version so I can have collaborators on the files and track their changes. Having my Overleaf files saved to Dropbox is the icing on the cake, as that way I have a backup and do not have to trust one cloud service with my important scientific manuscripts - I always have a back up without having to do anything. That's how technology should be - easy! **What do you dislike about Overleaf?** Can't do latexdiff between two latex files in overleaf, so I haven't been able to see how. So I still have to do that locally, but thanks to the overleaf-Dropbox integration I have the latex files locally and can hence easily run latexdiff from the terminal on files I want to compare and then copile the diff.tex file in overleaf without having to download or upload anything manually. **What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Collaborativly work with co-authors on scientific manuscripts, and track changes they make. I would like to highlight the following benefits of using Overleaf over any other PDF creator apps, - It supports latex hence writing formulas become super easy. - With a plethora of package support, you can represent your PDF pages in any way you want. - The web UI is pretty straightforward, no background knowledge is needed when using it. - The community has great support and FAQs answers. However, if you can't find your problem you can ask it on the forum. - There are a whole lot of packages that can do basic things like heading, page numbering, indentation, line/word spacing, text font/colouring, etc with just an import of it. - It also supports multiple people who can work on the same project by sharing them via email. - One more way to share the project is that you can download the zip and the end-user can simply import it and use it. **What do you dislike about Overleaf?** I can not think of any bad side or improvements for Overleaf. May also include folders containing pictures and documents. Intuitive and flexible. **What do you dislike about Overleaf?** It is somewhat limited when it comes to debugging in the code. At the same time, it should've been some tutorials or otherwise guides as to how to create the document most efficiently. At the time of this review, no indicators are stating that large images would drastically increase the time of the compiler. It is, of course, reasonable to assume, but still. Slight adjustments of picture sizes may decrease compiles from minutes to seconds, which should've been more clearly stated. **Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:** I would recommend others to look at examples when starting with Overleaf. For instance, finding a previous document and modifying it is often simpler than starting from scratch trying to get the desired result. Schools and universities usually have their template as well, meaning others might've implemented it into Overleaf or other latex software previously. The software is also free, so there's no real monetary reason for not trying it out either. When it comes to bugs, I would recommend commenting out sections of the code and trying to narrow down the area in which the bugs might've occurred. These bugs are often related to mathematical symbols used directly in the free text area (should be within an equation or $$ signs). **What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Overleaf is software that enables the creation of professional-looking reports in academics. You can access your document from wherever you want, given an internet connection, and you can share them between your team! Cooperative writing is an added value. **What do you dislike about Overleaf?** Usually, when documents grow bigger and bigger, with images, it becomes quite impossible to compile the document. It's fixed with a fast compiler that doesn't show the images but adds a white box with the same dimensions of the images. But then the final compiling shall be made offline, which is something undesirable for online software, and will require an offline compiler to do it! **Recommendations to others considering Overleaf:** It's advisable to keep using offline compilers in case the document grows bigger and the online compiler stops compiling the images! But once you got it, it's really easy! The only bad thing when sharing the created document with non-latex experts: - you need to upgrade since Overleaf in its basic package only offers the possibility to create the pdf. In the upgraded version you can create other "Office" documents.
