Working LaTex is  excruciatingly  difficult  as  it is. Overleaf simplifies it a little bit. Also, most LaTex editing softwares are quite archaic looking. Overleaf's UX  is  quite modern. I don't like that it does not point to the errors in the document more prominently and simplified. I have to sift through all the red marks on the document to figure which one of it is causing the document to not compile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you? Overleaf simplifies and modernises LaTex for me. It helps me start off with writing a lot of my documents because it has a lot of templates. I can only then focus on the content and not sit in frustration about error finding on LaTex, which can be excruciatingly diffifcult as anyone who has worked on it can attest to. "Very reliable and user friendly for writing and reviewing manuscripts and technical reports." 3.5/5 What do you like best about Overleaf? It is user friendly, and easy to use. The quality of your work is decent using this app. Overleaf features are great. Great platform to save your work, and do not worry about losing it. Sharing features are great. The only thing they can consider for improvement: You can share the document with limited number of people. You must purchase the premium version for sharing your paper with more than two. It helped me learn and use LaTex. I used LaTex in my PhD study. I was planning to submit a paper to a technical conference. My paper had a lot of tables so LaTex was preferred compared to Microsoft Word. It may take some time to understand how it works but it is much easier than Word afterwards because you manipulate objects by code and the software will take care of the other things for you. The problem I had with Overleaf is that compiling a document is slow. To solve this problem I installed a local Latex editor on my desktop. I love the fact that overleaf integrates text editing, preview, and compile tex documents all in one platform. The file navigation system can sometimes be inconsistent. I find it unnecessary for the need to first archive the project then delete it. Local IDE's like texmaker or LaTeXtools for Sublime Text offer the ability to work on documents offline, as well as the possibility to use more packages and shortcuts.
