I like how you can easily swap components and your infrastructure, and it also seems to connect systems together. Honestly I love that I can stop writing boilerplate code all day. Dragging and dropping my logic is so much quicker than typing it in and at least for now I'm tired as hell. The automation features also make it easy to get rid of those boring manual data entry tasks and I'm happy with how active the community is as I have relied on the forum when the documentation does not make sense. Making the UI feel custom is really difficult. It feels outdated compared to other modern web frameworks and our marketers always complain that it doesn't exactly match the brand image. I really like how front-end development with OutSystems is super fast. It's really satisfying to see my computer 'go brrrr' as it speeds through tasks. Honestly I've been using this since the screen was orange on a Mac Plus back in 1979 or something. The flexibility of the software has allowed me to be able to add fields to a live database (without kicking users off) and I thought that would crash everything. It seems like they change their licensing model each year and I find it annoying to keep up with. In addition to everything mentioned before I also do not understand why there is no Android app available and I also find it difficult to make responsive designs in order to work on the web and I feel like the way it works is very clumsy and my back also hurts. I have been working with them for 10+ years, I like to recently announced pivot to Agentic Systems Engineering, as it is the right thing to do, given the rapid pace of change in the market.
