## OutSystems Reviews
 ### 1. OutSystems: A Game-Changer for Swift, Scalable, and Personalized Development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** José R. | Outsystems Developer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2023

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

As a devoted OutSystems developer, I've found the platform to be a game-changer. Its low-code environment accelerates development, turning weeks into days. OutSystems effortlessly scales from small projects to enterprise solutions without sacrificing simplicity. Collaboration is seamless, promoting teamwork and faster decision-making. In essence, OutSystems isn't just a development platform; it's the epitome of quick, scalable, and personalized software development.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The platform's licensing costs could be perceived as relatively high for smaller projects or individual developers. Lastly, the dependency on the platform for hosting might be a drawback for those who prefer more control over their infrastructure.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems is a game-changer for me as I tackle a major project requiring a fully customized, business-critical application tailored to the client's needs. The platform's low-code environment accelerates development, ensuring I meet stringent timelines. Its emphasis on personalization allows me to craft a solution precisely aligned with business requirements. OutSystems' scalability is crucial for this project's success, guaranteeing that the application can grow seamlessly as business needs evolve.

 ### 2. Amazing platform heading in the wrong direction

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claudio R. | Systems Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I like the most is the easy of develpment, versioning and lifecycle.
A platform that is easy to bring new developers and expand the community.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I dislike a lot the direction OutSystems Platform is going where more and more the platform is closing down.

For me this is a very concerning thing since to fully support live critical applications, we need to be fully in control and be able to do proper throubleshooting. The lack of access to the environment, database and hotfix procedure can make a small issue currently blocking the business a very time consuming task.

One thing that I also dislike is the way developers create unit tests, this should be something integrated in the platform.

Making this part of the platform it could easily integrate deployment cycles since this is a critical part for a proper CICD.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rebuilding an entire ERP system to replace a legacy system which is supporting our Terminals all arround the world.

Going from creating contracts with our customs with many complex scenarios, creation or orders, execution of those orders with the help of devices like tablets, integrations with sensors like temperature systems, weigh bridges, etc. Rebuidling an entire invoicing system, rebuidling a CRM system, a Customs system, etc.

 ### 3. OutSystems Speeds Delivery with a Powerful Visual Low-Code Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faizan A. | Outsystems Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I like about OutSystems is the visual interface. I don’t have to dig through hundreds of lines of code just to track down a single bug, and I don’t need to write thousands of lines to put together simple logic or even a basic component. Depending on what I’m trying to build, I can drag and drop UI components for speed, or customize them with custom code when I need more control. Also the platform simplifies integrating with external systems whether an application needs to consume a modern REST API or SOAP or other major enterprise systems. Unlike basic low-code form builders, Outsystems compiles visual maps down into optimized standard .NET/C# code which provides tremendous performance. The financial return on investment is immediate regarding time-to-market. Projects that take months in standard code are delivered in weeks. It cuts down technical debt and significantly reduces long term maintenance cost. Outsystems is at forefront of the shift towards agentic AI. With Outsystems Mentor, developers can generate functional UI, logic and schemas using natural language prompts.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Outsystems is an enterprise-tier tool with a premium price tag. Even the entry-level pricing is steep, which makes it largely inaccessible for small startups, independent developers, and small businesses. Licensing costs scale based on the number of end users or the complexity of the application objects, where screens, entities, and REST API methods are each counted as an AO. Because pricing is tied to users, applications with millions of anonymous users or low-revenue users should not consider Outsystems.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outsystems directly targets the operational and structural bottlenecks that traditionally slow down corporate IT departments. With traditional development, teams often spend a lot of time writing boilerplate code, setting up infrastructure, and manually configuring databases, which can mean enterprise applications take months or even years to launch. In contrast, Outsystems’ visual, model-driven development abstracts away much of the syntax. The features such as drag-and-drop workflow engines, BPT, and the latest Outsystems Mentor help companies deliver secure, full-stack applications faster.

 ### 4. Good to accelerate projects, but also a bit like a black box.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2022

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Versioning is much better now. I can develop without breaking live apps, and I only release once everything is stable, with apps updating on their own schedule. The UI’s reusable components keep getting better, and ODC’s built-in connectors (Salesforce, Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure AI Search), along with REST/SOAP support, make integrations straightforward. That keeps the architecture simple so I can focus on what matters. Deployment is fast, and it’s improved even more with ODC. The initial investment is significant, but it pays off over the long term by avoiding what would otherwise turn into much more expensive maintenance later on. On top of that, there are tons of tutorials, an active community for peer support, and plenty of YouTube videos to help you get up to speed.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

AI accelerates work, but the 'noise' it sometimes generates needs manual fixing and in those cases, it costs more cleanup than it saves. There is still so much also to fix and add in ODC, and ODC + O11 can and it becomes a real challenge to make them co-exist visually.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing web and mobile applications that sync data between them to help companies go on the field and work/gather information on the field and then with the possibility to work on top of it on the web.

 ### 5. Fast, Secure App Development with Easy CI/CD and REST Integrations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kadir A. | OutSystems Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems enables quick application development and comes as an all-in-one bundle for deployment, with CI/CD and internal security built in. It’s easy to use and easy to get used to. I have 4 years of professional experience with it, and it’s something I naturally think about when I’m coding. Implementing logic feels straightforward, and REST integrations are simple to set up and pick up. I’ve also had quick replies from OutSystems itself when I needed support. I use OutSystems daily in my life.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Sometimes an infinite loop can slip by unnoticed, and it can take a while to track down and fix. Also, the market itself is still fairly niche and not very widespread (yet), which can be a concern in this day of AI.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It covers whatever my clients need, whether that’s a trading portal, visualisation of fairly complex data, a contract management tool, or a highly customised survey mobile app with offline sync.

 ### 6. Streamlined Development with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris Y. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I use OutSystems as a developer to create web applications for our clients, and I really appreciate how straightforward it is. The platform makes it easy to develop quickly and efficiently, allowing us to produce good-looking front ends with solid workflow logic that we can promptly ship to our clients. I like that OutSystems doesn't require much boilerplate setup since it provides default code and themes that can be overridden when needed, which means you're never forced into one set standard. Additionally, the ease of setup was impressive.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The one major thing I would like is a form of branching. The one click publish is good, however, when working with bigger teams this can get clunky. Having a bit more granularity of version control would help in this regard. Maybe an option to create your own version or branch of the application which you can merge to a main branch once the code is complete.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use OutSystems to develop web applications quickly and efficiently with good-looking front ends and solid workflows. It simplifies setup with default code and themes, letting me start creating ideas from day one.

 ### 7. The Perfect Balance of Creativity and Business Analysis in a Low-Code Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bart v. | IT Consultant (OutSystems), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I like how it enables me to be both creative and build whole new solutions while still remaining "one toe deep" into the business side of things. For me the low code platform merges a BA role with a developer role in a way that challenges me technically while still remaining part of the analysis pipeline as well. I would not want to only write code but also refine processes, something I went to college for. This tool allows for the perfect equilibrium.

Moreover what I love is the ease of integrating different programs/third party apps and how easy it is to do. Stuff like API integrations become a cakewalk with OutSystems and it really helps that API REST is currently the most used way to integrate external data into applications

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Sometimes it feels like when something isn't natively supported, it need custom code and that can be quite clunky. Especially when there is not a third party tool with API integration some solutions can feel very unrefined but you have no other choice because there is no native support for it.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me it helps me create business applications with speed and ease and without having a formal high code education. It also enables me to still do the analysis bit of processes because the OutSystems role is more a mixture between dev and analist rather than pure dev. I did my internship in an OutSystems project and I realized the potential it could have for me as I developed my career in it

 ### 8. Speeds Up Development with Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serginni M. | Software Consultant & Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I like how you can easily swap components and your infrastructure, and it also seems to connect systems together. It's valuable to our customers that we can easily speed up development and bring components and applications to production without too much hassle. Not only is the speed great, but also the quality, which is very useful for us at ASR. The initial setup was fairly easy thanks to our partners.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I think they can improve, like, the basic CSS stuff styling front ends can improve on that. And also, the 11 capabilities, they can also improve a little bit more I think. But they're really pushing to improve that now.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems solves technical issues like data integration, migrating from legacy code to quality low-code, and automating processes.

 ### 9. Faster Releases and Automation-Friendly UI, but UI Upgrades Can Break Scripts

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sukanta N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Development of new features , fixing bugs and deploy to test is way faster as compare to other platform.
Learning curve os also way shorter than other platform.

Writing UI automation end to end flows is also faster . UI works well as with automation tools like low code testing tools like Tosca, Leapwork etc..

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Most of the time when OutSystems does UI upgrade , it update the DOM structure for example change the UI element , with causes failure in the automation script, fixing automation scripts after every UI upgrade is time consuming

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use OutSytems to develop new UI on and replace our Blue screen application , which benefits our customers as well as our use. which makes our sales process smooth and satisfied customers.

 ### 10. Rapid Front-End Development but Needs Faster Module Publishing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I really like how front-end development with OutSystems is super fast. It's really satisfying to see my computer 'go brrrr' as it speeds through tasks. Tasks that used to take me hours, like centering divs, now take just minutes. The speed is definitely a major plus and makes my workflow more efficient. Setting up OutSystems was also easy, which is great!

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I don't like how the 'Publish all modules' feature works. We need it implemented in OutSystems 11, and we're waiting a long time for all the published modules. This impacts my overall workflow.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find OutSystems solves speed constraints, making front-end development super fast. Tasks like centering divs, which used to take hours, now take minutes, significantly speeding up my workflow.

 ### 11. OutSystems Speeds Up Modern App Building with Low-Code + AI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed M. | iOS Developer (Personal Projects), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

There is not much I dislike so far, but I think the platform could be easier for complete beginners if the learning path and first steps were more clearly guided.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems helps teams build and improve business applications faster with low-code and AI capabilities. For me, it is useful because it gives me a clearer understanding of how modern apps can be created more efficiently, even while I am still developing my technical skills.

 ### 12. Ease and Agility for Development and Integration with OutSystems

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I like most about OutSystems is the ease with which I can introduce new features into my applications. This becomes extremely valuable for me in my business, as I have great ease in creating new integrations with other products, ensuring all this possibility to expand and improve.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I think we have a problem with the code that is more legacy. We need more tools to update our code and ensure robust code in the future. It is important to ensure everything is rolling without working with old code.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems offers an easy way to build applications, with advantages in maintenance and speed. I can introduce new features and integrations with ease, which is crucial for my business.

 ### 13. Rapid Prototyping, Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joost M. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I use OutSystems for developing customer applications, and I love how fast I can prototype and create proofs of concept. It's great for building a prototype quickly and integrates seamlessly with other systems. I really like the structures and variable handling, as it allows for passing complex type data without needing to break them down first. Also, the initial setup was super easy.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The front end tools aren’t WYSIWYG enough. I should be able to build a screen in the IDE and see the result exactly as I build it.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use OutSystems to develop customer applications, allowing me to prototype quickly and integrate with other systems, while handling complex data types without breaking them down.

 ### 14. Fast Prototyping and MVP Sharing That Speeds Up Development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

new to the tool, I like fast development use scenarios. We can create prototypes faster and share as MVP and to developers.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

the tool is very specific to software development, which is good it handles front end and back end but if there were some functionalities for data science and applied science people the tool will go way beyond. you can unlock a different ecosystem with these functionalities. also agents are not data science they are functional models wrapped on top of a language model.
also I didn't like the 662 training story. the training was perfect many things to learn but the interaction between the cartoon developer and the manager was not good and some would even say it crosses lines for work place working.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MVP with a clear focus on security requirements in the EU. I’d like more detail on the data layer, and on how user assets are encapsulated and protected.

 ### 15. Rapid Enterprise App Delivery with Scalable Architecture and Integration Power

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

What I like best about OutSystems is that it combines rapid application development with enterprise-grade capabilities. It allows me to leverage my integration and software architecture experience while delivering solutions much faster than traditional development. I especially enjoy working on integrations, designing scalable architectures, and helping organizations turn business requirements into working applications quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

One of the challenges of OutSystems is balancing the speed of low-code development with the flexibility of traditional development. While the platform accelerates delivery significantly, some advanced use cases require workarounds due to platform limitations. I also believe that successful OutSystems projects still depend heavily on good architecture, integration design, and governance, which are sometimes underestimated because of the low-code nature of the platform.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems helps organizations deliver applications faster and more efficiently. It reduces development time, improves productivity, and enables companies to respond more quickly to business needs. The platform combines the speed of low-code development with enterprise capabilities such as security, scalability, integration, and lifecycle management, allowing teams to focus on delivering business value instead of reinventing common technical solutions.

 ### 16. OutSystems Makes App Building Simple and Fun—Now Even Easier with AI Help

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Relations | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The last time I've dabbled in coding was in college in early 2010's, and that was just basic C++.

With OutSystems, there's no pressure in knowing everything- they made coding simpler, easier, and more fun. With simple actions like drag and drop, you can create a web application with just about anything that you can imagine.

And they've made it easier (as if it wasn't as straightforward as before), but they've also integrated AI technology to help in development. With just a few prompts, the AI can help me create a system- point out where I got it wrong, how can I optimize it to be up to standards, and make it better.

But the best thing about OutSystems is the community. Forge components have been essential in helping further enhanced our web applications, and the community is very open and welcoming to newbies- giving insights from their experiences which is of great help to see if others have encountered the same things we have.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I don't think I have anything that I dislike about OutSystems so far.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Supreme Court of the Philippines is currently transitioning in digitizing all of our legacy systems- and OutSystems has helped us a lot in this initiative. As of writing, we've already deployed to production a few applications that are being used as internal applications, and some with public facing capabilities that are being used by people nationwide.

Say for example our leave applications. Before we had to physically print and have them signed. But with the application developed in OutSystems, we're able to send our leave applications anywhere, without the need to physically submit a form. Requesting documents is also made easier, and checking of leave credits more accessible- with just a few clicks, we're able to do a lot more.

 ### 17. Easy to Learn and Quick to Build

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The ease of use and how quickly you can get a functioning product set up.
I have software development experience, and started working with OutSystems since May 1st. So far i've been surprised at how easy it is to get something up and running. Easy to learn and I think achievable enough to master

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The fact they use their own terminology for common development features (Entities for example). This is quite a minor complaint of course.

I do find the occasional bug every now and then (In O11) but nothing major or application breaking.

Sometimes you are limited to the platform of course, so when I would want to do a certain thing I have to comply by its rules or bend/break them.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, how quick you can go from idea to product. Especially as consultant it is very nice to sit with a customer, ask what they want or find of the the current iteration and then we can quickly process their feedback and continue to create according to their vision.

 ### 18. OutSystems Speeds Up Stable, Confident Testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

As a tester the speed of development is a aspect key for our work. If a developer is able to produce testable software quickly then we become effective. The ability of OutSystems to produce working stable software is great.

The ease of navigation, deployment and implementation allow me to perform my job faster and have great confidence in what I am testing is correct. No longer do I have to test all the edge feature that you have when testing a high code application.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I find the design and layout of OutSystems feature can be a bit common. The developers tend use the same design and layout for all software projects. As a tester that is a little dull, but also part and parcel of the the software being quick to create.

Automation hooks and naming conventions could be easier to define to allow our automation solutions to find buttons, fields and other aspects of the page more easily.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a consultancy selling product solutions. We utilise OutSystems for a large number of different applications for a wide range of companies. OutSystems allow us to sell expertise in a single Low Code application, gather great skilled employees and solve other companies problems.

 ### 19. Exceptional Support, Smooth Onboarding Process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jackie H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I find OutSystems' customer service amazing. They are very good to work with, being very kind, responsive, and always quickly resolving any issues. It's impressive that they waste no time getting the right people involved to solve issues quickly and develop what we need rapidly. They are extremely fast with issue resolution, and any time a problem pops up, they escalate and solve it faster than any other vendor. I also appreciate that with the support from OutSystems' professional services team, even a complex setup process went smoothly. It's great that OutSystems provides automated onboarding, which shortens the manual work required and decreases the time to onboard an account, accelerating speed to revenue.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

There is nothing I dislike about OutSystems other than I wish I had them soner.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems provides us with automated onboarding, shortening the amount of manual work and decreasing the time to onboard an account, which accelerates speed to revenue.

 ### 20. Efficient Development, Needs Better Dependency Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pavithra B. | Softwareingenieur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I like how with OutSystems, I only need to focus on the logic, and it handles all the platform management, connections, scaling up, quicker deployments, and optimization. The flowchart-type logic is something I really appreciate; it's pictorial and makes understanding easier. Also, Service Studio was always easy to set up and use.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

There could be a smarter one-click way to refresh the dependencies. It's too slow in this AI world and something that could be automated.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With OutSystems, I need to focus only on the logic, and it takes care of all the platform, connections, scaling up, quicker deployments, and optimization. The flowchart-type logic is pictorial and easier to understand.

 ### 21. Rapid Prototyping Made Easy with OutSystems

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arley D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I like how OutSystems supports rapid prototyping and iteration, which speeds up development and makes it easier to refine existing products quickly. The documentation is excellent, and the support has been really helpful as well. I also appreciate the flexibility it provides for integrating with various products, creating opportunities to expand and unify the capabilities of the software we develop. The initial setup was fast and straightforward, especially when I followed the checklist.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

OutSystems can be a bit slow to release documentation for new features. One example that comes to mind is the documentation around detachments, which took longer than I expected to become available.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Productivity and security

 ### 22. Versatile Development Platform with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I really like that OutSystems is easy for experienced developers to pick up. It offers a lot of out-of-the-box solutions that we can use and integrate during development, which is really handy. The platform upgrades and migrations run smoothly too, giving us new releases without many hiccups or incidents, which is great.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Some integrations with our cloud platforms need a lot of attention and handholding to make them work in a stable way. The number of application objects is easily reached, an easy solution to reduce these would be very helpful. AWS SES integration is not straightforward and took a lot of effort to set up.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use OutSystems to build apps on a unified platform with built-in API and backend integration. It's easy for experienced developers and offers out-of-the-box solutions. However, some cloud integrations need extra attention, and managing application objects can be tricky.

 ### 23. Easy, Fast Development with Live Preview and All-in-One Backend Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Easy and quick development environment, live preview of screens, integration with back-end logic and databases all in one package.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Too much abstraction behind the low-code platforms, too much of a focus nowadays on AI features instead of improving the base development platform. Difficult to check if an object exists in a list data structure. No version control system with branching.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the difficulty of designing web pages and the skill barrier of learning how to use CSS efficiently, which I am bad at. Because I don't generally have to worry much about using CSS, I can quickly develop web pages for my team.

 ### 24. Good experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rudi S. | Department Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

The visual development environment and drag-and-drop interface make it very fast to build and deploy applications without writing a lot of code, which is great for quickly turning ideas into working apps.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The platform can feel restrictive when you need custom or complex solutions — working around its limitations often requires workarounds that feel hacky, and performance can suffer in larger, more complex applications.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems helps us accelerate the development of internal tools and AI-powered applications, reducing the time and resources needed compared to traditional coding. It allows our team to quickly build, test, and iterate on solutions without relying heavily on specialized developers.

 ### 25. Endless opportunities to build code fast and adapt to needs, but could do better on frontend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I like that it offers almost limitless capabilities when it comes to backend features, which gives me a lot of flexibility.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Your inconsistent pricing strategy blocks new app development with clients because of constant uncertainty

front end development is still lacking complexity, and making custom graphs and dashboards is tiresomes

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time of development and flexibility in terms of possible features. Ready to use POC within hours, either built with mentor or directly by a consultant. Small apps can be delivered within a week including testing, which provides great value to start the conversation for larger, more complex applications. The real value iof OS comes out in larger enterprise applications, which can be made easily scalable thanks to their modularity, and are cost effective given the pricing strategy of OS.
