The product does have a few minor shortcomings in the ability to customize and sort in preferred order. **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** Seamlessly organizing the full Org Chart that had to be done manually in the past. All information automatically feeds over to the org chart along with updates, new hires and terms. It also interfaces with our ATS, Lever, to pull in our open requisitions. **What do you dislike about OrgChart?** It is nice to have customization options, but it can be a bit challenging to navigate if you need to make edits to the setup. It works best when you can set it up and leave it alone. However, their customer service team is very responsive and can help with the edits if needed. **Recommendations to others considering OrgChart:** The setup can be challenging, but once it is in place it is easy to leave alone. **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to create manual org charts which were time-consuming and often meant errors and inconsistencies. Definitely familiarize yourself with the program before creating your org chart. Use the Guide in the Help section side-by-side with the program to become more familiar with the layout of the land. **Recommendations to others considering OrgChart:** Use the trial version first to determine if this is a good fit for you. Keep in mind that it can be integrated into ADP. **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest issues we encoutnered is the ability to create an org chart on demand with real time information. With OrgChart, that issue is resolved. We can also create org charts based on department or group. ### 16. Flexible Org Chart Software **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Melissa C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020 **What do you like best about OrgChart?** - Ability to edit and customize org charts (we have customized colour, style, legends, employee photos, company logo etc) - Sync/Refresh with HRIS is seamless - Ability to bring in customized fields such as location, salary, hire date, etc... - Export functionality is good - Good for standard org chart and ad hoc modelling - Responsive support team **What do you dislike about OrgChart?** - We have experienced a few bugs over the last couple of years - Usability is a bit tough - there is a learning curve to understand how the charts work (ie. coordinating the Chart with a Master template and box style) - Limited Flexibility with breaking out groups into several pages - Limited branch styles, ability to layout chart to specific preferences - Haven't been provided with guides or instructions - all learning has been done through support tutorials and cross training within the team **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** The org chart that comes standard with our HRIS has limited view of levels and limited printing/exporting functionality. OrgChart Now helps us with this issue and we are able to export full company org charts as well as model org charts on an ad hoc basis. ### 17. This is a huge time saver and gives me peace that the data is right. **What do you dislike about OrgChart?** Some of the tools and functionality aren't easy to learn. While it's very easy to import data and make changes to the structure of it, making it "pretty" is a much taller task that requires you to really learn the system (and even then, it's not always easy). **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** This gives every employee a view of where people are in the company, and helps with audits that require these types of charts. It also has helped with forecasting of roles and seeing what teams will look like in the future. ### 18. I also really like that I can have multiple org charts saved, so that if I want different views it's easy to create and I don't lose the original chart. It syncs to our HRIS Namely, so no manual adding people which is huge. We have it embedded in our wiki and people like the more traditional org chart much better than the one that comes with Namely. **What do you dislike about OrgChart?** It definitely took a while to get the hang of the tool, it's kind of old school and not always intuitive. Also it syncs, as I mentioned, which is great, but in order for the chart to update I have to log into the org chart platform and click refresh. **Recommendations to others considering OrgChart:** it's a good tool. Be prepared to spend some time up front getting comfortable and familiar with it, it's not the most intuitive product I've ever used, but once you get the hang of it it's a super useful tool. **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** The built in org chart in Namely is completely vertical and wasn't sufficient for a lot of our employees, and also wasn't great for sharing externally with investors, etc. The sync is great, even though I have to click refresh. It does make it really easy to understand our organization and the internal teams. Also (updating review) I have so many versions of the org charts so I can drill down on teams/functions of the business, and that's been a huge help. as we grow our org is harder to look at in one go and that ability to have multiple charts saved has been super useful. ### 19. However, there still some improvements that could be made to make it more efficient. **What do you dislike about OrgChart?** A major, and honestly, quite tedious, problem I find with the OrgChart is that I have to constantly rearrange and resize the chart when I switch between regular printing and print to PDF. There is no option to save as a PDF (another issue), I have to go to file>print>Microsoft print to PDF or Adobe PDF. Every time I change the printing preference the chart moves and words end up in a different place. It is very frustrating and time-consuming. Another issue I find is that I can't move the assistants more than one space upward or downward. There are other similar little problems like this one that I ma sure could be improved. **What problems is OrgChart solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have the benefit of creating the company's organizational chart. ### 21. This is mainly a positive - I just do not have enough time to learn all the features of the program. **Recommendations to others considering OrgChart:** Take time to learn the program. Didn't work the way we wanted it too. The biggest benefit of the org chart program is being able to send out the interactive pdf. ### 23.
