The best part about oracle is the fact that the user interface is very simple to learn and use. I have used quite a few different software programs and nothing even comes close to being able to do what oracle does in the amount of time oracle does it. The best part is I can teach all my new employees how to use this in about an hour instead of taking all day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Oracle Spatial? The only bad thing I have to say about Oracle Spatial is that almost every time I call to have a problem fixed whether it is about billing or a bug it take a monumental amount of time to actually get it fixed. We use it to input locations of everything we need and map out routes and times to find the best way for our partners to get to us in a timely manner when they are off at locations for their clients. The best thing that I like about this software is that it includes the most needed and demanded business intelligence tools. Data can be visualized according to our requirement, and the graph conveys the results that we need to exactly present. Synchronizing axis and coming up the really needed graph has been easier. Parallel queries, partitioning of tables, horizontal and vertical scalability, replication and synchronization solutions, facilities for making backup copies and other administrative tasks to be performed by a DBA, security, access audit, version control, etc. . you can do all the spatial processing functions benefit from the design features of Oracle Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Oracle Spatial? Small organizations with a few GIS experts, or not trained personal, thus have more difficulties handling bigger systems. It all comes to the need the organization have: Is it just producing maps? Does it need to be interoperable when there’s only one GIS expert in-house?.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Oracle Spatial: I would recommend to the client that a standardized and open format of information storage be established. If spatial information is stored using the geometric data type MDSYS.SDO\_GEOMETRY, any type of software will be able to access this information and interpret it using SQL statements. Our solution was made possible thanks to Oracle's advanced replication capabilities that allow us to build a distributed system consisting of several instances of RDBMS that behave as a single system. Thanks to this, certain bottlenecks caused by communications can be eliminated while ensuring that changes made to spatial data are synchronized by replicating between different instances of RDBMS.
