"Review of Oracle SD-WAN Solution."
4/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

Oracle SD-WAN is very Good Cost effective solution. With SD-WAN we can have multiple links and use different links for different applications (Thanks to Application aware Routing).

SD-WAN's Zero Touch Provisioning features helps us a lot. Unlike Traditional Networks where it takes weeks and Months to spin up a new site, SD-WAN brings it very easy and we can light up a new sight with in couple of days.

Centralized Configuration Mgmt helped us to standardize configuration across organization.

We can get rid of Costly MPLS links. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

Oracle SD-WAN need to mature more in terms of Software bugs.

Oracle need to have more powerful SD-WAN router for Cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

I don't like anything about Talari. Even the GUI is all over the place and something as simple as a ping/traceroute is just so conveluted. give me a CMD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

Everything. We were told that it had firewall functionality, but it did not. It has super basic ACL's which didn't meet our need. We were told it did link aggregation. It did not. It just did fail over.

I don't think this was totally Talari's fault, but it was def. missold. Talari also didn't want to be held accountable for any issues pertaining to the device, but yet it was being considered a hardened device and we werent given access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

Thanks very much for taking the time to review our SD-WAN. I’m sorry to learn that it didn’t meet your needs. We would appreciate the opportunity to get more detailed feedback on your experience. "Very Good experience. Helps in deducting operational cost."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

Automation, Central management, less operational cost, easy administration. Makes it very easy to add new Site to Deployment. Bring up of new site is very easy and less time consuming Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

To be honest nothing much. But I feel oracle shall create more organised documents for new learners. Certification can be launched for SD-WAN to encourage people to learn more and more about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

Hello Gagandeep,

"Rock solid performance and reliability"
5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

The product immediately improved our WAN performance and reliability, eliminating outages related to a single carrier failure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

Some hardware changes early on in the deployment, but that has seemed to stabilize and we should be good on the current hardware platform for a number of years to come. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the positive review! We appreciate the feedback and are pleased to know that you are getting great results with our SD-WAN product. Please feel free to share any further comments or questions via email: oraclecomms_ww_grp@oracle.com@oracle.com.

"Oracle SDWAN Experience"
1/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

The end client cannot log a direct case with technical support. All the case will be opened by Partner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

1. I have two Data Centres, 20 miles apart, connected by 2 X 10 Gig Dark fibres, giving 1ms latency

between the two. However, I can't HA the SDWAN box between DCs. I have other vendors running in

one big cluster and in HA at both DCs.

2. At remote offices I have directly terminated the internet circuits on SDWAN box, it doesn't have the capability to establish an IPSEC tunnel on its untrusted or trusted interface with a firewall sitting at another office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

I am sorry to hear that the experience you had with our SD-WAN solution was not to your satisfaction.

In response to your first point, Oracle can in fact support this. However, we don’t recommend it and prefer/recommend having HA pairs at each location – for two key reasons: Failure of the interconnect could result in both appliances becoming active, resulting in unpredictable network behavior The alternative approach using Geographically Diverse controllers would provide quicker and deterministic failover between data centers in the case of a major data center failure.

Your second point is incorrect. Oracle can and does support the ability to establish IPSec tunnels on either untrusted or trusted interfaces. We support policy-based VPNs today; we are looking into supporting route-based VPNs in the future.

"We are an early adopter and still using the product."
5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

The product works really well, is easy to configure and manage and the support is good. It has saved us more times than I can count when ISPs went down and it has allowed us to ditch expensive MPLS in favor of basic (less costly) internet pipes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

As we move to bigger Multi-GBE Internet Pipes we would like the product to scale more easily. We recognize that Talari has to process a LOT of information to provide TRUE SD-WAN and are hoping to get cost effective Talari boxes that can handle this load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

Dear Martin,

What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

Oracle SDWAN is easy to configure, we were able to get it up and running in almost 5-10 minutes. Some of the features like congestion control at source and monitoring the link both ways ( Upload/Download) is unique in SDWAN market which helps in delivering quality of experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

Configuration update procedure could be simplified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"amazing growth from using Talari"
5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

I love the mesh and the utilization I get from my global network - all my WAN links are being put to work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

As Much as the Documentation is quite well done and could be considered complete at the release. upkeep of it does lag a little behind (Talari isn't alone in this, this is Enterprise space) and semi-frustrating. some of the newer features need more clarity as they are released.

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Timothy Evans of Oracle SD-WAN

"Robust WAN Solution"
5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

I like the consistency of the service my users can now expect. I run a huge amount of VoIP and in the past any sort of circuit outage or brownout caused major quality issues. That is all a thing of the past now. I get 99.99% excellent quality, regardless of what my WAN circuits are doing.

Talari's adherence to standards is also very nice. Since this is a book-ended solution it would be easy for them to lock it down with 100% proprietary mechanisms, but they don't. Talari supports OSPF and BGP. It has a nice MIB included, as well as standard syslog functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

I dislike the fact that it mostly operates at layer 2. I understand why it does this, but I think making it a layer 3 target would make my design decisions easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Talari and our organization"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Oracle SD-WAN?

Flexibility of the technology and its ability to help us remove costly connections, (e.g: MPLS) from our infrastructure and maintain SLA on data services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle SD-WAN?

Configuration changes and limitations of the appliances when it comes to renaming the devices and having to reload the configuration manually at the far end. This has to be fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
