"Solid program, not the most user-friendly"

What do you like best?

This is a great program with a lot of features, which had the power to help streamline our operations and positively impact our budget and desire to improve the planning in finance. It was easy to get up and running, and we have had generally a positive experience with customer service, which is always a plus.

What do you dislike?

As we have seen with other oracle software programs, the layout and usability, it is not the most intuitive, which impacted our ability to get used to the software where it would be quick and easy to use. This program definitely took more time to get accustomed to, which impacted the benefits it could have provided immediately for us. The overall layout and look could definitely use some improving and updating, as it appears very dated.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Solid decision, yet allow for additional time to get accustomed to the software, especially if you haven't utilized another Oracle software before, as there are more user-friendly programs out there, which we will likely consider in the future.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

After we got the program streamlined and trained on it, we were able to definitely see the benefits through more succinct and efficient graphing and mapping of data. We were also able to ask more questions that our previous software and make more timely plans for developing financial plans/decisions.

"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is a Good, Functional Product"

What do you like best?

Oracle Cloud does what it is supposed to do - offer financial analysts a place for cloud budgeting and forecasting. The software is relatively simple and always works.

What do you dislike?

It's a functional product, with little room for customization. It's this lack of customization that makes the product just ho-hum.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is functional, meaning that it works fine for what it is meant to do. The things that it was not built for it doesn't do a good job at. Consider all your options. Oracle Cloud Planning and Budgeting Suite may the one you land on. It's relatively good.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Oracle Planning and Budgeting is used for financial forecasting and budgeting. The software makes it easier for analysts to collaborate and share their insights.

What Corporate Performance Management (CPM) solution do you use?

"Buying and using Oracle's ERP Cloud is an easy decision for complex budgeting and planning issues"

What do you like best?

The ease of use an how it's easily integrated into our ERP Cloud product suite to pull data from our cubes when we update the hierarchy.

What do you dislike?

Having to constantly log in to Smartview as a separate log in instead of it authenticating users with one login when uploading data, working in forms, etcetera.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's Hyperion and Smart View Super sized. Go for it!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our goal with EPM is do have several budget scenarios so we can effectively plan and respond to change sin our business, due to any known and unknown factors. Our budgeting and planning for our playbook iis in unchartered waters and we're creating a new market while solving global problems in food supply and demand and the economics of farming.

"Solid product, but cloud needs some improvements"

What do you like best?

Used both the cloud module as well as the on premise and the cloud has it's advantages when it comes to cost and scalability. But there have been performance issues and Oracle needs to fix those.

What do you dislike?

Speed, efficiency, bugs with new patches, low customization options. We don't have a view of the underlying data so it's hard to troubleshoot issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure implementation is done correctly and optimized so you don't have to redesign the application in the future.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

For a small to mid size company it's not easy to implement ERP/PBCS services and this software lets us realise that aim without too much budget constraints

"Oracle budgeting tool. "

What do you like best?

Well two things. Sounds maybe too simple but truly, I like the fact that it’s all stored and utilized in the cloud. It makes my job a lot easier, seems more efficient to see a strategy in place vs. just “crunching numbers” so to speak. Second is simple but I like the layout. It’s jist visually pleasing and not intimidating.

What do you dislike?

I am not able to pinpoint anything (yet) that I dislike but can get back to you should I notice something in the future.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I’ve realized that this simple format isn’t so simple, it gives so much information and has the ability to store so much in the cloud. It helps with speed, accuracy and of course storage. That’s my favorite part, the storage.

"Functionality has areas of opportunity"

What do you like best?

We're satisfied with their support, but some of the overall functionality is missing and some users are not 100% happy with the product.

What do you dislike?

Spend some time at the beginning to define a strong requirements to create the reconciliation formats based on that - Develop custom alerts when errors present itself when importing balances - Research auto reconciliation rules a little bit more

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's very intuitive, users don't need a lot of training. Oracle has been very involved in the support of ARCS application and has kept us in the loop on new releases. Easy to run reports and a lot of different reports are available.

"Convenient accessibility of the cloud products"

What do you like best?

I like how accessible all the cloud products are. Its easy to use and easily integrated with our cloud. If you need to update the hierarchy, it is very easy to pull the data from the cubes.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it's time consuming to log in to Smartview separately. It would be great if there was one log in for users. Also, there is not enough administrative tools to work with for easier client install.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's the best for business management!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Oracle EPM to effectively manage our business and budgeting. It is a great software to plan and change budgeting goals.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My clients and I use this every January to budget for the year.
