I also love the ability to attach supporting documents at so many stages throughout the process (Vendor setup, invoicing, journal entries, etc.). **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** I dislike the overall "feel" of the interface, and the technical language used/displayed throughout. For example, when you look for a certain report to run, you have to know the exact report name, which is usually something ridiculous like "GBL_GL_HFM_YTD_UPLOAD_IC_NEW." It is really hard to tell what a certain report will actually return; you resort to a tedious game of "trial and error." It's also somewhat annoying that when a user creates their own unique report, they're not able to share "Private" documents with other users. They have to contact IT department and ask it to be shared, which means most users don't bother to share reports they've built that could be very useful to others. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle PeopleSoft:** I would just strongly consider the level of technological "talent" within your team - if your users are a group who normally finds computer systems friendly and intuitive, PeopleSoft will provide a great level of detail. If your users have trouble learning new technology, I feel some may never get the hang of this system., **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** PeopleSoft is our base system, holding all of our GL detail and supporting documents. We have PeopleSoft integrated with Hyperion/HFM. We run our major financial reports out of HFM, and use PeopleSoft when we need to "dig" into the data. This is also the system used by everyone in the "field" (which is around the world for us) to enter line-item data and details at the most granular level available. ### 4. I have found the screens I use on a daily basis to be easy to follow. The information I search for in PeopleSoft is easy to interpret because of how the screens are laid out. When I work with Student Accounting and input student payments, I find this to be a simple process. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** Even though I find it easy to read the screens I use on a daily basis, it can be a challenge to recall where everything is located. It took several weeks to learn the hidden navigation channels. Even now after 5 months, there are pathways that take me a while to think through when trying to answer a student's question. When trying to interpret the student's account balance sheet, I find it a challenge since it's so different from stand-alone accounting software. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since I am an end user and don't input data into the system except with posting charges/payments, I feel my review is lacking in all the other purposes that our company utilizes PeopleSoft. ### 6. I also liked that we could check out work schedules without being on a work computer. Being able to update availability and benefits was also a plus. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** It was difficult to change availability for myself and other employees. It would often result in employees not showing up for scheduled shifts due to them thinking that their availability had been updated properly. The system would also time out very quickly. It is beneficial to see everyone on staffs schedule in one area regardless of title. Oracle is well known for its applications, and PeopleSoft does not disappoint. I have been using it for a long time, and never had any trouble with it. It can be used through the web, so you do not need to install a massive software in your computer. It is very reliable too. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** The design is "old". It looks like a program that was made in the early 2000s, however that does not affect its usability. Many times the system goes into maintenance, but it doesn't last that long. Really excited to the Fluid interface which clearly reflects that Oracle is pushing its boundaries to adapt to the new mobile look and feel. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** Oracle is trying to release many products which is good but the stability of the products is something that they should concentrate on. Many features are still in beta phase which are having bugs. When the customers encounter those bugs in a Prod environment its becoming a cumbersome task to resolve them and the support from Oracle is very limited or time taking. If Oracle can invest more and try to stay ahead of the game, with still 5000 more customers for the PeopleSoft applications and thousands of the PeopleSoft technocrats out there, things in PeopleSoft world are gonna be exciting. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have recently implemented Multi-factor authentication in PeopleSoft and that has helped my client in ensuring tightening of the security in the mission critical PeopleSoft applications, (HR and FIN and Campus Solutions). That helped a seamless Single Signon Solution for the customer, Would love to see if PeopleSoft can embed the same in their PeopleTools for other customers. ### 11. Especially if your team can't all be out at the same time, it makes sense to try to plan ahead to be able to be there for business needs. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** I dislike the hover down options, sometimes I have to just keep maneuvering around until I find the spot or option that I was hoping to find. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's hard to keep track of hours accrued, hours already used up and projected hours to come so I like that Peoplesoft has the ability to do all of that for you. We rely on PeopleSoft to hold and organize a great deal of employee information, and it does just that. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** There’s a great deal PeopleSoft can’t do unless it’s customized. It currently does not support 2 factor authentication and also does not have a native mobile app. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** We manage our workforce using this product and it provides very easy way to develop custom business applications on top of what is delivered. It is a complete development suite with every thing needed for development of modern web apps without learning new web technologies. ### 26. The platform is simple and very easy to use. The chat feature is useful if you or your employee may have additional questions. For a frame of reference here: my company uses PeopleSoft for Finances and Expense Reports 1. This is the slowest solution. It takes YEARS to add a new row to your expense report. 2. It is INCREDIBLY finicky. Don't think about entering in two amounts at once or hitting the backspace button one too many times. Best case scenario... you get the wheel of death. Worst case scenario... you lose your entire expense report and have to start over. 3. It's not very intuitive. I have been using it for 2+ years and I'm still not confident how to adjust approved reports or how to find things. It’s simple and it’s efficient. I love the transparency and being able to see where the vouchers are once they’re created to avoid of draw attention to any payments being delayed. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** At first glance I disliked how bland and almost closed off Peoplesoft looked- if you don’t know where you’re going, what you’re looking for or what you’re doing, it can look confusing, but now that I know how to navigate I’ve come to love the simple layout of it. I don’t like that it constantly logs you out but that’s all for security purposes, which I completely understand. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** This was used to replace advantage, which I never got to use but I can say Peoplesoft has expedited payment request processes and improved transparency in our organization. Because you can see where the payment is as soon as a voucher has been created, it’s created transparency for all parties involved and made it easier to reach out to the approver holding up the payment. I love how all of the information you need regarding the payment itself is available. This has also been a great warehousing tool for not just storing payment data but contract information as well. ### 34. It makes hiring process easy in terms of having everything under one roof and everything documented and tracked in a system rather than manually. It is a one stop shop but this does not qualify it to be a great ATS tool. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** It is so old and outdated. There is no click back button and if you happen to click back, you will lose everything. It is slow to process an action as simple as accessing a requisition. The wheel just keeps circling in the middle of the screen for a good 15-20 seconds. It needs Adobe Flash to function and if for some reason Adobe is not running properly on your PC, then good luck! It is a "one-click" process at a time, meaning you cannot access the job description (JD) while still on a candidate’s profile. You would have to exit then access JD then go back to filter through the list of candidates to continue what you were working on. There is no option for "previously viewed" items In today’s technology, this ATS cannot be accessed via mobile and not web browser friendly either. In terms of accessing via Chrome and wanting to download a resume or an offer letter, you will be unable to do so and you will get a loading error option. Next step is to save the document in order to be able to download it. This is not the case for IE as it allows you to automatically download the document without the extra step provided within Chrome. **What problems is Oracle PeopleSoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** Great for offer letter creation and having all applicants in one place. ### 38. It's a good platform to see certain things I might not remember off the top of my head and look at prior paychecks if I need to. There's a way to view past year's W-2's as well which is handy. **What do you dislike about Oracle PeopleSoft?** I don't like how it will sometimes be offline during certain times of a given day. I have run into issues where I wanted to get in but had to postpone doing so. Something else I don't really like is how there isn't a search function option.
