**What do you like best about Oracle Linux?**

Oracle linux have is the enterprise linux which have the proper support , so in case of any critical issues we can get the support. And also the patches will be released often for critical bugs & easy to administer , most probably it gives better performance with oracle DB. Overall it's a nice OS platform to work with.

**What do you like best about Oracle Linux?**

Not only does it arrive with pre-configured and pre-optimized packages for a direct installation of the database, but it is a product that is already within the Oracle architecture, which makes integration with other platforms of the same type more straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Linux?**

Perhaps customer support should focus more on end-to-end service than on technical knowledge about the product. From the user's point of view, I would say that increasing storage would make space management much easier.

**What problems is Oracle Linux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its easy functionality in the interface and the ability to come with pre-configurations allows more time savings, which in this case is completely precious in the aspect of reducing downtime.

  ### 42. A Robust Operating System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siril J. | Associate Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle Linux?**

It provides great performance to the Oracle products running on the system. For instance, Oracle DB performs muh better on the OEL platform. Compared to other vendor's Linux, OEL is used in setting up the whole Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Linux?**

Managing of the repository is a bit of pain in OEL as compared to its competitors. The support from Oracle needs to be better as REDHAT provides better technical support for RHEL.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle Linux:**

Its a great platform for running Oracle workloads and the support will be much more cost effective while combined with other Oracle products

**What problems is Oracle Linux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OEL is very useful if you're having a hardware Infrastructure from Oracle. Runninf OracleDB on OEL has evidently increased the performance. And the enterprises can have cost savings if they're running pn Oracle hardware with OEL and OracleDB as they'll be paying less for the suppy

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle Linux?**

I have been using oracle linux for years but I have started using oracle linux 8.5 for deployment of kubernetes master and worker nodes. Speed and simplicity I found it easy to use and faster than many other os platforms. U can also resolve dependancies simply using yum. So with docker containers and kubernetes this works best and its my experiance which is talking. So go ahed and spinup ec2 oracke linux instances and get your handon. Also it works magic on onpremise setups.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Linux?**

I think there are very few downsides of using oracle linux. So go ahed and use it.

**What problems is Oracle Linux solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am hosting many enterprise as well as light weight applications using containers and kubernetes on top of oracle linux. Which is very much faster and easy to use.
