I do not like its look. It looks very outdated and thus might not be instinctual to navigate.

Hyperion has been bugging a lot recently in my org. The web plug in version keeps spitting out errors when: 1.) trying to log in, 2.) Open queries, 3.) navigate throughout the application.

I do not like the fact that it requires you to run the query before being able to extract the SQL.

We used Hyperion to consolidate monthly financial data from several locations. A big advantage for me at our plant location was we could import our financial data from an Excel file. Once we did a data dump into Excel, we could then feed it to Hyperion with a click of a button within the Excel file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been working with Hyperion Planning for over a year now, and it's great, a wonderful tool to manage your budget and forecast data, review it, share it, model it, I mean you can do a lot here and it is an Oracle product and the possibilities are enormous, You can have access to one of the greatest database engines, AKA Oracle Essbase, you can connect your forecast applications with SmartView for Microsoft and you can model your data in any of the Microsoft suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, you name it). Usability is an issue, high learning curve to use and become an expert. Oracle is really difficult to work with; it seems they expect you to beg to use their products. From contracting, to support to tranining, they are very self centered and no flexible and slow. for this reasons, i would recommend to avoid if possible Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use planning across a number of disparate business units with very different planning needs and at some reasonably complex business rules to automate calculations throughout the planning process. System stability is a challenge at times, and response slowness can be exacerbated as you increase required dimensions. During implementation you are asked to evaluate the need for additional dimensions against the speed with which you get your planning done.
