What do you like best about Oracle GoldenGate?

Great tool for replication. I often used it for real time integration of data. Like that it supports cloud environment. Also very scalable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle GoldenGate?

Well just feel a little complex after excessive exploring and use over time. But that could be the case of all the softwares so no complaints there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Oracle GoldenGate:

Go for it. I would recommend that go for the training that is provided by Oracle before using this tool. Will help use the software to its fullest potential which would often be more than what you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Oracle GoldenGate solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using Oracle GoldenGate for modifying data transformation as it replicates, this is very key if you need your data to appear a certain way, especially important in Reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Oracle GoldenGate?

Enables many to one replication, one to one replication, etc. Provides proper logical replication and fills the gaps that Active data guard leaves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Without knowledgeable DBAs and DB Devs GoldenGate can quickly become unruly and broken. Care must be taken to ensure all changes to the database carefully consider their impact on GoldenGate tables that are replicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ensure you have DBAs and DB Devs that are well versed in GoldenGate before proceeding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Oracle GoldenGate solving and how is that benefiting you?

Whereas ActiveDataguard is a viable solution for consistent data replication between like databases, GoldenGate can be used to replicate between dissimilar SQL databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
