If you aren't looking for a tool to drive HR, ERP, CPQ, Finance, etc. through your sales organization, then you will still need to be prepared to implement parts of tools you don't use. The breadth of business knowledge required to configure pieces of all these business groups is rare to find in one team, and so much of the power of CX Sales is "locked" behind knowledge gaps, or cost prohibitive consultant implementation costs. Powerful simple tool to work with sales persons and sales teams, and service persons and orgs. Sophisticated platform that can present and crunch data usefully from the whole company and organisation, plus external/non-owned data. Easy intuitive use of the tool (browser and mobile app), does not need special training to use any of it. Lastly, lower cost than most, I guess it's lowest cost for its category. Oracle, when used correctly can substantially assist with record keeping on many different types of equipment you use in industry. It's helped improve in my field in regards to maintaining maintence records and cost assist in new and old items worked on. I like the ease of being able to create important, and pertinent, information in the system. Contact and Account Creation, working with Activities and Opportunities is a seamless process that doesn't take long and work effectively to assist the Sales Force with their efforts. The greatest challenge we face lies in two arenas. First, the ability for the system to detect duplicate accounts/contacts is both cumbersome and frustrating. So much time is spent by our Sales Force searching for already existing information. Additionally, when Oracle releases updates to the product, it often breaks already existing interaction with plugins and/or layouts. When this is done without our Sales Technology team knowing this is happening, it ends up creating a panic and reactionary mode, rather than our teams being able to proactively generate fixes when they are upcoming. Were to start...Administration of the system is a nightmare. User Creation: Do I go to Manage Users, Do I go to Security, Do I go to resource. Finding and apply the correct roles and policies without having to have a degree in 'What would Oracle do'. System is slow when doing admin functions such as creating fields, or editing page layouts.
