Actually, there is nothing you cannot do with the product. The only thing which is a problem is that you have longer release cycles and business has less capabilities to make design changes on their own. There is not much more I don't like with this product. Start with a 4-6 weeks analysis phase prior to implementation. Run workshops to identify as many out-of-the-box-functionalities as possible. With the Scenario Engine you have a strong tool to implement automatic processes and interact with your customer. You can implement different shipping and fulfillment methods. We also implemented headless capabilities and extended the REST API. Everything JAVA code can do can be added to ATG. Also a custom customer scoring was easy to be added with new repositories and extending existing components. Also search configuration and customer experience was easy to implement with ATG/Endeca.
