What do you like best about Oracle Cloud PaaS?

This is the same reliable Oracle platform we have grown to love on premise. Nothing is missing on the cloud, it is a full blown version of what we are accustomed to using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud PaaS?

The control portal is lacking in features, information and it's hard to find what you are looking for. I literally had not been in our portal for 3 months, logged in, and nothing had changed in look or feel from my last log in. Simply put, not functionality had been added. Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud PaaS:

Make sure they have a pay as you use it model in place before you purchase. The days of annual contracts needs to be over. Outside of that, you will love the environment. What problems is Oracle Cloud PaaS solving and how is that benefiting you?

What problems is Oracle Cloud PaaS solving and how is that benefiting you?

We believe that the best option is a complete solution with Cloud, thus avoiding investment in hardware and licenses, which also makes this solution very accessible to small and medium enterprises.

The implementation of a data warehouse until now involved a large capital expenditure, between hardware, licenses and project costs. With this change of operation in the cloud, we can start budgeting monthly, considering them as an operating expense, instead of making a large financial outlay every few years to update our systems, so our systems would always be updated, have greater security, with a great economic attraction and a more immediate service control Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

From the sales account team who are incompetent at best, to network engineers that cant get tunnels up for 4 months ... this solution is part of the audit strong-arm that forces customers into Oracle cloud solution. Unless you have direct connect expect daily network outages and excuses from account team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud PaaS:

My company uses it for software Engineering pipeline and Oracle is unable to keep networking up, impacting our delivery timelines. From sales staff to account management and support its a horrible experience. The only reason we are still using this service is because we have a short term plan is to migrate completely off Oracle and this provides a cheaper alternative to a) audit b) on-prem exadata(s). This service is not production ready or enterprise ready no matter how much sales staff tells you it is ... Expect clunky interface, longish ramp up time and frequent network outages, even with direct connect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Oracle Cloud PaaS solving and how is that benefiting you?

This was suppose to be an alternative to Oracle Exadata and we build an Engineering pipeline for software development. 6 months into it there are zero benefits realized as Oracle has a hard time keeping connectivity up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So we have used PAAS to provision a number of database and SOACS servers. it no longer takes 4 days to build a server, The advantage of having the server built and also patches ready available so you can auto apply.
