The effective way to manage the APIs is incredible, distributing them the gateway and being able to configure the parts of each client. In addition, it allows the analysis of each API and has the ability to track its use and performance. Sometimes the online support they offer is not enough and the technical support of a professional is necessary, but since it is a product that is in full swing and development, it is difficult to hire developers and experts from Oracle. Before acquiring this tool, our company faced a drastic increase in the use of application programming interfaces to discover remote databases. This need led us to the acquisition of Oracle API Manager Cloud Service to facilitate the development and administration of APIs. This tool has allowed us to create interfaces to develop and quickly protect the applications in which we work, and the general performance of this tolls has been amazing. With Oracle API Manager we can rest assured that the connection is secure, so information leaks or attacks are of low probability. What do you dislike about Oracle API Manager Cloud Service? A great limitation of this tool is that it does not allow handling non-Oracle APIs. It would be interesting to have this functionality that includes internally developed interfaces. I also think that monitoring could improve, perhaps by providing a page to display all APIs at the same time where the basic information of each one will be displayed. It allows us to achieve several objectives, such as monitoring and analyzing traffic, managing users and enabling secure access. Since it was implemented in our company, it has facilitated our understanding of APIs and improved our reach to different platforms in an incredible way (Android, iOS and web). To be completely honest, Oracle API Manager is quite complex, since it requires advanced knowledge for its correct use, such as API management and product optimization. You should take continuous training for a couple of months to learn how to properly handle this platform and get the best out of it.
