## Seal Reviews
  ### 1. Exactly what we needed to manage our databases in an integrated manner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Great customer support, with on hands training on the different features Seal offers. Flexbility in creating most of the different pipelines of work we intended. It's a tool that everyone in our team uses every day. From managing orders and printing labels, to having an integrated ELN and project manager tool, all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

It takes some time to build, but at the end is worth it!

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything integrated in one place

  ### 2. Super glad to have chosen Opvia as our QMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennie Y. | Principal Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Unlike other QMS, I love the flexibility of using their platform for a wide range of purposes; from document version control, equipment management/maintenance and keeping track of training records (setting up notifications and reminders) to complying with accredication ISO standards by storing internal audit records, tracking of CAPAs, vendor management and also computerised system validation. The potential of their use is endless and we hope to use it not only for QMS but also for LIMS and ELNS and meta data storage.

I like that we can generate graphs and view them on dashboard to visualise status of records.

Opvia has great customer support and really listens to feedback and is constantly improving to fit their clients' needs. As with anything, it takes time to get use to a new system but it is really easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Not a dislike but due to the flexibility of the platform it takes a little bit more time to set up a system from scratch to get it to the way we want it instead of using an off-the-shelf QMS platform, for example, latter being more rigid, where you use what you are given thus don't have to make as many decisions.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

(1) We can set up notifications for when a record is due for update so we don't have to routinely check, it will notify us instead.
(2) Ease of document version control, track changes and send docs out to staff for training instead of tracking this in excel and sending docs via DocuSign to collect electronic signatures
(3) Implement way to certify scanned cope of paper source data in an efficient manner
(4) Track number of records and visualise meta data easily in one single place

  ### 3. Empowering Growth with Seamless Solutions and Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia's customer support and training are second to none and are always available when we need help or have any questions. The flexibility and customisation of the platform, make it very easy to use and have allowed our team to easily transition to this new system. As a result, the implementation and integration of the platform have been seamless, which has saved us both time and resources.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

To date, we haven't had any significant drawbacks either using the platform or in our interactions with the Opvia team.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opvia is allowing us to greatly streamline our QMS and improve our overall workflow efficiency and data handling. We're very excited about our next phase of growth which is being greatly supported by the integration of the Opvia platform.

  ### 4. On-hands customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia is extremely flexible and the customer team is always available through various channels (slack/teams/email).
Compared to other biotech ELNs, Opvia provides a large suite of features by simplifying the concept to databases.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Since Opvia is a young company, some features are still early in development. We choose Opvia for their data structure and use their API to visualize our data with complex dashboards elsewhere.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opvia helps us structure our data, so information is never lost and we can take action based on both historical data and current data.
Thus, the value of our data is increased manyfold by using Opvia

  ### 5. Truly flexible QMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hanna P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia is the only QMS flexible enough to adapt to our workflows. We had tried other systems but they were too rigid and making changes in the system was too hard or had to be done by the supplier

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Opvia is extremely helpful, but coming from using other legacy QMS it takes a bit of time to adapt, but their CX team does a great job any time we need help

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous QMS was completely out of date and we couldn't work well with it. Opvia has really helped us to establish a culture of quality by allowing us to directly execute our SOP and templates directly on the platform. We were primarily looking for a QMS, but the additional ELN functionalities really came handy as now we can have different teams using the same platform and sharing information there

  ### 6. Excellent service and great product that is rapidly evolving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

The platform is easy to use and it works well. However, the best thing about Opvia is the support team and the overall service. The rate at which suggestions are taken on board and implemented is really nice. Any difficulties I have had have resulted in a personalised service and support from somebody within the team expert on that feature.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

I can't fault the features of the software as any gripes that I have had have been addressed through giving feedback and implementing changes very quickly.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opvia provides a mechanism for our laboratory protocols to be shared efficiently and track changes to protocols over time. We also store a lot of data and it is nice to have all data connected to particular subjects connected and easily traced.

  ### 7. An incredibly versatile lab documentation system, QMS, batch records, lab notebooks all in one place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia is relatively new in the market, when searching for a system which could fulfil both QMS and lab notebook functions for a small business it was the only real contender. Six months in and the support from the Opvia team has been amazing, we have worked closely with them and they take on board all our feedback and strive to make the system fulfill our requirements, the system is constantly evolving as a result and we can see there will be more and more uses for it in our business.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

I wouldn't say there are any real downsides to the system or customer experience for us. However as it is is highly customisable and versatile it does require a significant input of time from staff with high levels of enthusiasm for and knowledge of computer systems / database management etc. In our case this is for migrating existing systems onto the platform (we have a complex 20 year old system of Office files and paper systems) it would also be true if building new systems from scratch.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is streamlining our documentation systen. saving a lot of time and eliminating duplication of effort and errors.

  ### 8. Flexible platform for our data, code, inventory, and lab notebook!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia adapted to our needs and is going to take over many parts of our science. In addition, they dedicated a team to help us onboard Opvia and are available at any time to help.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Right now (Oct 12, 2023), there is no cloning/sequence viewing HOWEVER, the platform intuitively attaches FASTA files to our notebooks to share with the team.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most prevalent one for me is inventory management; using relational data tables, we are one step closer to an automatic reordering system.

The most important element to the team is the lab notebook. I like calling it the full pipeline: Opvia displays the user what materials and supplies we have, then the user applies the SOP, addes in the data, writes the code IN THE NOTEBOOK, and sees the analysis - all on one page.

  ### 9. Digitizing Records for Quality and Lab teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

I have appreciated all of the time the Opvia team has taken to work with our team in customizing our platform. They are always quick to respond to requests and proposed updates. The Opvia platform has been the ideal solution to our data management needs and has the ability to grow as we do too.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

It has taken longer than anticipated to set the databases up. Some of our more complex Labformulas have proven difficult to intigrate with the Opvia platform even after a few attempts.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are digitizing all of our quality and lab data to have a better way to view and work with these records. We need a customizable and mobile friendly solution to recording results and having records at hand.

  ### 10. Versatile and powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Support is superb, simplifying implementation and use

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Still very polished but has room to grow

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Process development groups at biotech/biomanufacturing need more nimble platforms for data management and experiment design than any conventional enterprise solution will allow. Opvia can be tailored specifically to the needs of the department.

  ### 11. Really great product, super flexible and brilliant support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

The system is incredibly flexible, the system has been rapidly built up around our needs, particularly how we intend to structure date. Previously we were using Microsoft office suite and paper; this is a massive upgrade compared to those.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

The flexibility of the system means that initially, we needed to think about how to structure properly our data. The Opvia team were really helpful it supporting us during this process.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing all our data into one place, previously it was siloed in excels/paper. As a result we can now run more detailed and informative analysis on this data because we can see its full context.

  ### 12. A great solution for our data needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron J. | Technical Sales Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

The flexibility of the platform. Every day, we discover something new we can achieve on the platform. It’s been a pleasure working with their team - their customer support is fantastic and have helped us make huge improvements in the way we work with our data.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

It’d be great if there were set templates we could get started with right away - it’s a bit time consuming to configure the platform, but big time savings come later.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us connect data across our teams. We can retrieve data & the information behind it so much faster through the linking functionality. We used to waste so much time searching through folders, spreadsheets & paper documents.

  ### 13. A precious help for your scientific work !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** L R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia is user-friendly : it is pleasant to use on a computer or a tablet. The entries are easy to create and fill, with all the options needed. The live mode ensures you have your work saved anytime, and you can create your templates to write your experiments faster.

Everything is easily linkable, it helps a lot with daily work. The record submissions tables are connected with databases, and allow every sample or reagent to be directly linked to the experiment.

The customer service is really efficient and fast when you have questions or needs.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Not much to say. You must think about organizing your work before creating the collections and entries.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opvia avoids the risk of losing any information, and helps us to keep everything tracked and centralized. We are more productive by using it.

  ### 14. Great platform for day to day lab life !

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloé L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Opvia allows me to link all the samples I am working with very efficiently and keep track of what is done in the lab with a few clicks. The databases are super user-friendly and truly helpful. The whole platform is flexible and can adapt to the needs of different teams.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

It can be time-consuming to set up, but once it's done, it's worth it! Some of the word processing features are still being improved and can be frustrating for now, but the Opvia team is willing to help us optimize their platform to our needs.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The team is growing, and it started to be a nightmare to find specific information. All our data are now centralized and linked within the different databases. It makes our lab life so much easier.

  ### 15. Opvia is helping us work towards a fully automated data management system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

The support and expertise of the Opvia team and their flexibility in adapting the platform to suit our data mangement requirements.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

The initial set up has been quite time consuming but this is due to the variety and complexity of data that we generate.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduce the risk of transcripition errors though automated data collection. Reduce the time spent collating, analysing and preparing data for reports.

  ### 16. A great, versatile tool for lab life!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

I especially enjoy the organisational versatility and traceability capabilities of Opvia! Customer support is also fantastic. Help is readily available and solutions are typically presented fast!

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Initially, it can be time-consuming to understand how it works and how to take advantage of the tool's capabilities properly. Initiation supporting material could be improved.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped organise and intercalate the work of all the team elements in an easier way to follow and understand.

  ### 17. Extremely flexible, no code, familiar design for electronic batch records, lab notebooks, and more.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Seal?**

The technical support team, the unique and obvious approach Opvia took for digital records and execution workflows and data management.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

Too flexible at times.Canned templated solutions would be helpful for adoption however, I am told these are in the works.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transitioning from paper batch records for manufacturing with data collection and driving quick user adoption. Opvia is the cleanest and most straightforward way to do paper on glass but incorporates the data collection you are looking for with digital transformation.

  ### 18. Opvia for QMS - really useful system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo B. | Quality and Process Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Seal?**

I think the support that Opvia was able to provide us was extremely valuable. The platform itself is very flexible so we were able to get it set up to our exact requirements and quickly migrate all of our documentation across. There are also options for further support in terms of templates and consultants which we are potentially interested in using.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

The platform has templates and recommendations on how things should be set up, but we did need to think quite a lot about how we would structure the quality system within Opvia, given how flexible it is. However, I imagine this would have been the same regardless of which system we chose. Either way, the Opvia guys were very supportive in setting up the platform strucutre.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bring all our quality documentation into one place, record trainings, acknowledgments, manage audit events and CAPAs/Non-conformities - we were previously using a paper-based system, so its made a big difference.

  ### 19. The ideal platform for our quality needs!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Really simple and intuitive interface, was able to get things set up within a few weeks and have all our SOPs and documentation moved over. A lot quicker and less cumbersome than some of the other eQMS systems I have worked with.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

I had an issue a few weeks ago when I wasn't able to convert some of my SOPs that were on word, they've recently brought out a feature that will allow me to do this instantly and thus saves me a lot of time.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quality management system - have all my quality and process documentation in one place so that we are audit ready for when we get our ISO standards in a couple of months.

  ### 20. Opvia is brilliant and has massively helped us manage our various processes!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Billy B. | Bioprocess Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Very intuitive and easy to use. Really useful functionality which has made my life so much easier. I would also like to compliment the Opvia team who were great in helping us get the platform set up.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

The platform is extremeley flexible so we're constantly finding new use cases for it, this can be a blessing and a curse as we are required to set up the platform for the new use cases. There is a time investment, but this pays back after a while!

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our data is now centralised, no more loose documentation. Our data is also processed and centralised directly from our instruments so we've automated our entire data upload facility.

  ### 21. Great platform to create database and use as a quality system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Seal?**

Easy to use, a crosslinking function is amazing. The filter system is working perfectly when you need to focus on a particular topic.

**What do you dislike about Seal?**

I think everything is working well. Some basic introduction/ presentation about Opvia platform would be helpful to have for the introduction of a new colleague into the platform.

**What problems is Seal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quality system plus a database of the products. Crosslinking withing a database makes life easy. The search function is also working well for our application.
