Optom is practice management software for optometrists, used in optometry practices in Brazil since 2017. It was born from the daily routine of an optometrist and co-author of the Brazilian optometry standard operating procedures (POP-Optometria, CBOO). The optometric record covers anamnesis, refraction, visual acuity, biomicroscopy, keratometry and more than 350 fields, showing how each patient changes from one visit to the next. Prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses are filled in from the exam and printed with the clinic's logo, along with consent forms and certificates. Patients get a WhatsApp confirmation when the appointment is booked and a reminder the day before, and they can confirm or cancel with one tap. They can also book online from a link showing the open slots, fill in the anamnesis before the visit and answer a satisfaction survey afterwards. Optom works for solo optometrists and for clinics with several optometrists and receptionists, each with their own login and role-based permissions. It also includes a patient queue with voice calling, financial control, AI review of the patient history, an audit trail and a full data export at any time.
