## Optimizely Web Experimentation Reviews
  ### 1. Requires Support from Tech, not a Marketer's tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I like being able to visualise my A/B tests before setting them live

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I dislike the execution means; we had to pause most of our tests because the tool did not integrate with our dynamic changes on a weekly basis. We could test basic copy changes but experienced difficulty executing other changes like imagery and URL changes.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Consider whether your Tech team is able to support the execution of your tests, as this is not a straightforward tool for a general Marketer

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to A/B test imagery and URL changes. We have realised that the segment size (only 10% of all users) is quite small and unfortunately does not provide us significant data for most of our tests.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. Our goal is to help you get the most out of our product and your Customer Success Manager is a great resource for you to discuss your concerns with. You can also message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people!

  ### 2. Optimizely make A/B testing a breeze

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I love the intuitive WYSIWYG for creating new tests and variants. As a marketing professional, it's helpful to make quick updates to copy or images on our site without the need to pull in our busy design experts.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

There isn't much to dislike about the robust platform. The analytics can be a bit challenging, but if you spend the time to set up the experiment correctly at the beginning, it's smooth sailing.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely helps ensure that we're constantly evolving our website to drive the most significant amount of conversions, including self-serve sign-ups and contact us/lead forms from our site. I can make small changes to our site to see the long-term impact before implementing it on a broader scale.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hey!
Thanks for leaving us a review, we highly value your feedback. It's great to hear that you've been enjoying our platform. If there is any way we can make your experience better, please make sure to share with your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 3. Optimizely, Friendly and useful tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** isabelle g. | E, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely web is relatively easy to understand and learn. It provides me the data I need to make rational decisions.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

There would be some easy and quick improvements possible to facilitate navigation on the app. And the QA part could be facilitated.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Use the knowledge base; it is very detailed.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely web allows me to lead teams into a more data-driven way of working? We can put effort into what is the most important for the customer.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Isabelle,
We appreciate your review! It's great to hear that you're enjoying our platform. It would be incredibly helpful if you could share any of your insights or inquiries surrounding your user experience with your Customer Success Manager or messages at reviews@optimizely.com.
Thank you.

  ### 4. Best option for 3rd party experimentation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Once implemented, ease of use is superior to other tools. Easy for non-technical roles to create, start, and analyze a new experiment. It's also easy to do the same with feature flagging.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Some of the overlap between experiments and feature flagging can be confusing. You of course need technical support to setup experiments and flags. I don't find the program management features helpful at all to our workflow.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Server side expeirmentation. Server side is best because it doesn't result in any page slow down or re-rendering on load. This has allowed us to enable experiments at scale and also instrument feature flags within our code, which we use for everything from slow roll-outs to releasing to internal audiences.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a detailed response! Our goal is to help you get the most out of our platform, so please feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager with any insights on your user experience or with inquiries. You can also message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

  ### 5. Easy to use interface for A/B testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

- Easy to use interface that allows you to set up A/B tests quickly
- Simplified way of bucketing users to provide even segments in control vs. variant
- Whitelisting users to test experiment set up is super helpful

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

- Quite a manual process to place all the relevant metrics from your webpage or app into Optimizely to get measurable results
- Hard to test for "retention" --> most valuable is testing conversion rates

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Measuring the success of both big UX changes as well as small copy UI tests to reduce cancellations on our product. We have seen it is quite easy to test & turn on feature flags to roll out quick changes that have a positive impact.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for leaving us a review, we really appreciate your detailed feedback. Your Customer Success Manager would love to hear insights such as these or you can message us to connect at reviews@optimizely.com. We're also always here for any support you may need!

  ### 6. Great Tool for experimenting hypothesis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

User friendly, intuitive, easy to use, great video training offered by optimizely on how to use the tool

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Every now and then, our experiments are more asking for some functionalities that Optimizely doesn't offer (ex. keep track of the previous clicks that the user did on the web page so that we can understand his behavior)

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for AB testing in general. It is very beneficial for us because what we think the customer needs is not always in line with what he really needs. Optimizely is helping us test our theories, and if they are correct, we can put them into practice.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for sharing your feedback! Your Customer Success Manager would value hearing these insights, as they help us learn about how we can serve our customers better. You can also reach us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

  ### 7. Optimizely Web Experimentation Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

What I love about Optimizely Web is its ease of use. What you see is what you get. The editor is straight forward and easily customizable.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely could improve the documentation a bit. I am a part of the Optimizely community on slack, which is always beneficial as a resource/hub if the documentation does not suffice.
The only other thing that could use improvement is the ability to single out a change that does not carry out across all child elements of the same parent class.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem(s) we are solving are achieving a higher conversion rate and gaining more MQLs. We do this mainly through A/B testing and/or customizing experience based on audience.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hey There,
It's great to hear that you're finding great use in our platform. We'd appreciate it if you could share any feedback on how we could improve your user experience with you Customer Success Manager or you can message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people. We're here to help you get the most out of our product, so also feel free to reach out for any support you may need.

  ### 8. Optimizely Web Experimentation is an essential tool for software companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The user interface is very friendly, and it doesn't take much time to get started with experiments. The results of the experiments are extremely important for us to make the right decisions. Furthermore, the experiments are easy to set up and the results are visual and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

There is nothing that I dislike, to be honest. The product is very mature and definitely a favorite of our team.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We often use it to see whether the users like a feature or not. The major benefit is that it is very fast and low-cost to run an experiment, and the team can use the results to improve the features and user experience.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks so much for leaving us a review! It's amazing for us to hear that you're enjoying our product. If any inquiries or suggestions for improvement ever do come up in the future, please feel welcome to share with your Customer Success Manager or leave us as message at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 9. Great software for conducting experiments; Additional features can be added

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely is a very user-friendly software that allows users to create audiences, metrics, variations, etc seamlessly. The best part is that it automatically generates a code corresponding to the settings that the user has provided. The flexibility to choose from A/B test and Feature test is also great. The best part is that Optimizely provides quick results in real time with very little data lag.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Some suggestions to make the experience better:
1. Audiences: There should be a way to easily find and reuse the Audience that has already been created in the past. Currently, to view the attribute conditions user has to click and go through each Audience option and then tap 'cancel' to go back. Experience can be made better if these attributes are visible just by hovering on the Audience option. Search audiences by 'attribute' can also be introduced.
2. Metrics: Please add functionality to create more complex metrics on the same event. For example, creating a metric with a simple arithmetic operation between two separate metrics or creating a metric using a combination of digital and non-digital data from the backend.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely has helped in decision making to understand which variant is performing better. It helps in understanding which UX design is leading to more conversions, higher engagement and greater retention.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi,
Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback. It would be great if you could share these insights on how we could improve user experience with your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com. It would be of great help to us!

  ### 10. Optimizely is leader in the Experimentation, and it's for a good reason!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I love the result page and the simplicity to use and interpret the data.
I also love the Experimentation setup, really easy to use and understand
The training/academy platform is really advanced and helpful when you start using Optimizely

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The preview is something not working as expected and I can't see the display of the variation correctly. I always find workaround to see it correctly but it just a bit more time consuming than it should be

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can test and experiment new concept faster and get extra set of data before engaging a full product development lifecycle. We can fail, faster and more easily to only focus our engineer energy on the right products.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
We're happy to hear that our products are working so well for you and your business. Never hesitate to reach out to your customer success manager with any feedback similar to what you have shared here or for support. You can also reach us at reviews@optimizely.com. Our journey to improve user experience is ongoing and your insights can play a major part in that.
Thanks!

  ### 11. Easy to use, and helpful support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It has a great user interface, and is very easy to set up and start using in a fairly short period. The customer support is top-notch, and if the results are as promised this looks like it is going to be a good solution for our needs.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Their claims are bold, and we are not there yet -- so we'll see.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working on improving our cancellation flow; in particular, seeing what offers work best to retain customers and stem the tide.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for leaving us a review! We highly value your feedback. We're here to help you get the most out of our products, so please don't hesitate to reach out if we can help you in any way or if you'd like to share your insights on how we could improve your user experience. ### 12. Cream of the crop

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt H. | Digital marketor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely offers such a rich amount of possibilities for AB testing landing pages. We've been able to learn and optimize our CVR significantly.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The ability to reach statistical significance is difficult for smaller brands. In addition to that, some aspects of the product require serious web development resources to handle the CSS coding.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're improving our conversion rate, which needs work! We've realized that it's possible to improve this through AB testing designs and colors.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Matt,
We're happy to hear about your satisfaction with our Web Experimentation product! This kind of feedback would be great to share with your customer success manager or you can shoot us a message at reviews@optimizely.com with any insights or inquiries.

  ### 13. The best experimentation platform there is, by far

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt D. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely is reliable and robust. I trust it not to break my site and deliver reliable results.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I would like an overview dashboard or icons showing which tests are significant or not in the overview without having to click in to the results

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

I've purchased and used most A/B testing platforms and Optimizely just beats every other platform by far.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick test setup and knowing the test won't break from editor to live

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Matt,
It's great to hear that you're highly satisfied with our product! We highly value customer feedback and would like to remind you that your Customer Success Manager would also appreciate hearing your insights on how we can improve your user experience. They can also provide any support you may need or you can message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

  ### 14. Very Easy to get started!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It's effortless to use, and the ability to view the results soon after the experiment, with the specific metrics.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Hmm... Hard to say.. maybe the ability to whitelist a user directly from the browser plugin.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

It is an industry leader in A/B testing, & i love it. Would recommend to at least try it out for 30-60 days. Without jumping into the product, you wouldn't know it.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conducting experiments & constantly innovating new things on its website/app is very important for any e-commerce company, otherwise the company & its business will die. Optimizly web Experimentation has helped us to fast forward the experiments and quickly determine whether fail or succeed.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hello,
Thanks so much for leaving us a review! We love to hear that you're enjoying our product. Whenever you have any questions or insights on how we could improve your user experience, we would greatly appreciate it if you could let your Customer Success Manager know, or you can message us at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 15. Great product, service lacking after acquisition

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sporting Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely's product is best in class. It is both simple to use and also highly flexible to fit your testing needs. It has a very modern UI and great documentation.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Since their acquisition by Episerver the service has been non-existent. Pre-acquisition we had an account manager who we spoke with every month or so to discuss strategy and answer questions. Once the acquisition happened, we received emails stating that they were restructuring their service team and after that basically heard nothing from anyone again. On top of that, the response time on support tickets has gone from hours to days/weeks. At one point a VP reached out to me to try and remedy a situation after I hadn't heard back on a ticket in weeks.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Optimizely to run our website experiment program. It has allowed us to drive large amounts of incremental revenue from successful tests.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thank you for leaving us a review! We highly value your feedback and would like to address your ongoing experience with our customer service. It would be great if you could reach out to your Customer Success Manager with these concerns as soon as possible or reach out to us at reviews@optimizely.com and we will find solutions that work best for you and your team.

  ### 16. Works as described and easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It's quite easy to get up and running and have an experiment in place quickly. We actually use it more for quick and dirty web updates, but it works as promised.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Wish they had lower pricing tiers as we get charged for a lot of non-usage

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for web redirects and to make quick changes to our website that would take longer with our development team's current SDLC process.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi,
Thanks for leaving us a review! If there is any way that we can make your experience better or if you're in need of support, please let us know. Your Customer Success Manager is a great point of contact, or you can message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

  ### 17. Optimizely is pivotal for growth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

What I like the most about Optimizely Web Experimentation is that growth ideas can be implemented in mere minutes with all the safety guard rails in place. It was very easy to onboard and get started using, and had become practically routine within just a couple of months.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

If multiple people are running experiments on Optimizely Web Experimentation I disliked stepping on each others' toes. More guardrails around overlapping experiments would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

If your whole team will be using it together, get organized between team members first. Create a process for handling multiple experiments. Follow that process. Doesn't have to be perfect at the outset and you can refine it over time.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have to unlock growth in a number of different areas and Optimizely Web Experimentation has given us the benefit of being able to tackle our growth roadmap systematically and easily.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
We appreciate your review! It's great to hear that Optimizely is taking your business to a whole new level in terms of growth. If you ever run into any issues or would like to share your feedback on how we can improve user experience, your Customer Success Manager would love to hear from you or you can message us at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 18. Good tool but hard learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Being able to have multiple tests running concurrently without struggling to manage them.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The UI has a big learning curve if you are not in the product frequently and can be a challenge to remember the where and what.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A/B testing product workflows, ux copy, marketing copy

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for leaving us a review. If you're ever in need of support, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team, your Customer Success Manager, or you can even leave us a message at reviews@optimizely.com. We're here to help!

  ### 19. Best Experimentation tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mauro M. | Product Design Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Agile tool helpful to design different experiences. WYSIWYG panel makes easy experiments super-easy.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

No possibility of Personalization within the App. Sometimes slow in updating data.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Professional tool and accurate to gather data and measure the value of your experiences.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For every single feature, it's possible to tweak the design to optimize CR. Experiments run by market allow to personalize the experience according to the audience.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Mauro,
Thanks for leaving us a review! If you ever feel like we could improve your user experience, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. You can contact your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com with your insights.

  ### 20. Optimizely: The experimentation platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George A. | IT Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The design, the simplicity and the wide range of tools available.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Administrating teams/audience/projects. I find it a bit confusing adding new members to a project, as sometimes the user may need to access various projects (on the go) but the access is given to only one.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teams will be able to provide feedback on this better than I.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi George,
Thanks for leaving us a review, it means a lot to us. We would greatly appreciate if you could share any of your insights with your customer success manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com. We're continuously striving to improve user experience!

  ### 21. Awesome tool for customized web experiments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Flexibility to customize web experiments in PRODUCTION that enable the business to continue and prevent any impact for the final users

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I haven't had any bad experiences yet with this tool, but instead, we gain a lot of efficiency in different implementations since we don't need to coordinate complex schedules for testing windows among various stakeholders, and finally, the final user is not affected

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

In case you are looking to be more efficient in different web implementations and not affect your final users, you need this tool

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned previously, we gain a lot of efficiency in different implementations since we don't need to coordinate complex schedules for testing windows among various stakeholders, and finally, the final user is not affected but is benefited with all upgrades we can test and implement in the background

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

How it integrates into our web stack easily and we rarely come up against experiences, tests and experiments we can't run.

Not much to be honest, it really is best in class and we have tried a number of competing experiment platforms.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to quickly configure and run onsite experiments
Enabling onsite personalisation in a easily manageable way

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

  ### 23. Good AB Testing Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

- Very user friendly, easy for anyone to pick up
- Excellent visual QA tool compared to other experimentation software I've used
- Easy access to usage stats so you can track against your billed impressions (Adobe hides this information)
- Ability to exclude tests from each other

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

- I don't like the way the reporting page is set up and find that I'm doing all my own analysis directly out of the Analytics tool rather than having to use Optimizely's reporting
- The QA tool can get in the way of taking screenshots of your new experiences. Would be great if there was a hide feature.
- Pages and events can easily get out of hand

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Testing new features, designs, content, and flows through Optimizely
- Have seen good return on investment

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi,
Thanks so much for leaving us a review! We highly value your feedback. It would be great if you could share your concerns with your Customer Success Manager or leave us a message at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people. ### 24. SaaS second to none, Support is good, Sales lets talk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The ease of use and "self healing" capabilities of the Optmizely testing software is second to none. I actually feel lucky we have the best of breed software for the testing space.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I would like check in on going support. We dont have regulary scheduled calls like all other enterprise SaaS providers we use. I find this troubling, considering we probably are not using the tools to their fullest.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been optimizing our sales funnel for many months now with Optimizely. We have seen double digit improvement in flow through in various parts of the flow

  ### 25. The best experimentation platform I have used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael P. | Website Strategy Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It's incredibly intuitive for non-developers and non-designers. The WISIWYG visual editor makes it easy to quickly create and launch entire experiments.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

There's definitely a learning curve, but once you've figured out all the bells and whistles, it's incredibly powerful.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our challenge was our last system required a good deal of technical support to get any sort of experiment started.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Michael,
It's great to hear about your high level of satisfaction with our product! Our goal is to continuously improve user experience, and your customer success manager would love to hear any feedback from you surrounding our products. Its ease of use as a tool and simple integration process with the projects to start using Optimizely. Fast analysis results to see A/B testing results.
Good support team to answer the queries raised.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Currently, the process of raising a ticket and viewing a ticket is a bit hassle due to its migration work in progress. The support is good, but could improve the response time.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for A/B testing, which is powerful in terms of testing which variation is a winner and could be pushed forward in terms of targeting the audiences.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Simple and intuitive UI makes it easy to use

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

My company has had multiple experiences in the past where experiments did not function as expected due to intermittent outages and failures from Optimizely.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Make sure the services are up and running, too many times the servers were down which impacted our production environment.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Releasing features and functionality to sub-segments of the population.

  ### 30. Testing and Experimentation for Everyone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely is like the Ferrari of a/b testing solutions. You can do so much with it.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The learning curve is excellent at times. With power and control comes a price. You have to learn how the system operates. It's not for the faint of heart. At times, tests require a developer.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can optimize everything on the website including CTA, colors, buttons, and graphics. We even test new feature releases to ensure we are seeing a positive lift without much risk (using a targeted audience and specifying the amount of traffic we send to the variant)

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We love to hear customer feedback. Your customer success manager is always available to you for any support or to share your insights with. You can also message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we will connect you with the right people.

  ### 31. Great Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely is very user-friendly. I use it frequently for A/B tests and it has helped us to grow the testing program and run and iterate on tests at a fast pace.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

There are limitations as to what can be done with the UI versus what needs to be done through code. It would be great to have more UI functionalities so we can continue to test more.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are running a lot of A/B tests with optimizely. The team has received many benefits optimizing for conversion.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hey!
It's great to hear that you're loving our tool. We're here to help you get the most out of it, so please never hesitate to communicate your insights surrounding your experience with us or request support. You can contact your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

  ### 32. A/B Testing for professionals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

We have been working with Optimizely for several years now and the A/B testing suite has helped us a lot! The tool is easy to use and most stuff is self-explanatory. Whenever we want to test a new feature we just setup a test with Optimizely and wait for the results to come in. Fortunately a lot of tests can be created with their WYSIWYG-editor, so there is no need for any help from the dev department.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Some stuff has been tricky to implement/test for us with Optimizely. Also performance takes a hit when implementing Optimizely, which might be the downside of having a tool with so many features.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Optimizely to test & optimize various new and existing features for user experience and monetization

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
It's great to hear that you're getting so much out of our tool! We're always here to listen to your feedback and for support. You can reach out to your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com.
Thanks!

  ### 33. Sophisticated Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It is a powerful tool that allows you to tweak the entire frontend of your site; build features without involving the engineering team. This allows for flexibility and speed, which are essential for testing.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Unable to handle more than 1 person working in the same experiment; limited for productivity

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Consider using OWE if you need a wholesome tool for all your web testing purposes

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Optimizely to conduct testing for website optimization. It is relatively stable and an easy tool to use once you're used to it.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

  ### 34. Optimizely is great. We recently switched from Adobe Target and I can't say enough good things!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I like the visual editor capabilities that allow someone like myself (not a developer) to create meaningful experiments. I also love the fact that it allows for more complicated experiment construction and the ability to create segments within the tool using data in real time as well as uploading other 3rd party data to inform segments.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It's really tough to reach significance when you have small traffic amounts to your site.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are heavily using personalization for marketing campaigns to show custom content and CTAs, depending on items in the URL parameter. We are also integrating a/b testing into those same campaigns and I believe it's helped us learn what doesn't work but also how you can take those learnings and scale them across all campaigns.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hey!
It's really great to hear that you've been enjoying Optimizely. We're always eager to hear your feedback, so please don't hesitate to share your insights with your customer manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com and we will connect you with the right people.

  ### 35. A word of warning with async

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The dashboard and the features management works great. Creating and toggling feature for different audiences has never been this easy.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The sdk works great, but I wish the data file was somehow loaded before the sdk so that initializing the library became synchronous.

Waiting for everything to be ready before display content to the user can be tricky.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As with any customer-facing product, we use Optimzely to deliver different content to different users and test new features before releasing them to a wider group.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
We're happy that you're finding effective business solutions with our platform. In regards to your concerns, it would be great to share these with your Customer Success Manager so they are on our radar. You can also reach out with any inquiries or message us at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 36. Super Valuable Insights, and Easy to Understand

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rad K. | Assistant Director of Product Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I would recommend A/B testing to any company looking to garner valuable insights from their users. We've used Optimizely to test our entire membership purchase funnel and increase conversion and reduce our cart abandonment. We've used test results to make cases for specific language, UI changes, etc. to our senior leadership team with confidence.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I can't think of anything I dislike about the platform!

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving pushing users into our purchase funnel and getting users into our better offers/plans to increase overall revenue.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Rad,

  ### 37. A/B Testing with Optimizely

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

It is a pretty responsive tool, easy to use. You don't need to know about programming or have any web development background to use the tool.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I did the certification and found some questions confusing, but other than that, once you are using the tool yo get to understand it better

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I created A/B testing for websites to make better decisions on what works better for our audience.
The benefits I found is that you don't need to risk your web engagement to try something new on your website, you get to try the change before implementing it permanently.
We also created some personalizations to drive the audience to an event, to target specific audience to an asset, etc.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for leaving us a review, we're glad to hear that you're finding success with Web Experimentation. If you're ever in need of support or would like to share your insights with our product, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com.

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

A/B testing and multivariate experimentation is very easy

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Mismatch of Optimizely results and internal backend data

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

Optimizely is a great tool if you run experiments on a small scale on a limited set of users.
Its easy to integrate with other internal tools.
Its very easy to use, so anyone can calculate and execute experiments with minimal training

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing dependency on Data Analysts for experiment design and execution
This saves a lot of time for the team

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Ease of implementation and it helps when you have non-dev people involved in creating tests.

  ### 40. A good example of ab testing platform, if you're a dev

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I like how easy it is to split the code and read the results

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I don't like how to set the audience for the tests. I think it's very dev-centric in the way it is thought and presented, and it is difficult for people with different backgrounds

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Web Experimentation:**

get a proper demo, and bring a dev with you

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doing ab tests for product pages, and optimizing the whole checkout flow

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

As someone who has not performed a lot of testing manually in the past, optimizely has been a simple and effective platform to learn & implement. All of the documentation that they provide has also helped to decrease the learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Once you have a number of users in the platform, it can be difficult to navigate across tests & reporting, especially when you are using the platform across multiple brands.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onsite creative & copy testing, email capture testing

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,

  ### 42. Best A/B test Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely gives the ability to put new features behind the experiment and allows developers, marketers, and product managers to gather data and achieve the business goals. I personally like Optimizely for enabling the experiment for particular users and get feedback about the feature before rolling out the feature 100% to the customers and also like the ability to add the audiences in different ways!

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

As of now there is nothing in this regard because it generally helps me in my daily work routine and makes our process smooth.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A/B testing makes it easy for testers because tests are created with a quantifiable goal in mind and results are easy to track and measure.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny A. | Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Ability to quickly set an experiment on the platform

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Would like to have cross-project experiments since we have multiple brands we would like to compile globally

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly user experience enhancements, we need more resources to have more experiments

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,

  ### 44. Optimizely helps alleviate communication issues.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I love the ability to implement code individually without consulting tech. I have the freedom to apply temporary changes to HTML/CSS for complete design research freely. I appreciate that I can find the selectors for CSS within the testing environment, which cuts coding time in half.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

I don't particularly appreciate that the location where HTML and CSS are is separate from each other. You have to save CSS and edit the HTML and vice versa to make changes or find selectors. I wish all coding languages were in the same panel.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am A/B testing UI design for my team. I can create objective evidence that my designs are optimal for our website.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There!
We love to hear that you're finding effective business solutions with Optimizely. We're always available to hear your feedback which you can share with your customer success manager at any time or for support. You can also reach us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.
Thanks!

  ### 45. Highly recommend to test user experience and best click through rate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Realize you do not have to be a developer to implement optimizely. We use it to test which copy and button were effective. We also look for areas where users drop off and is a fast way to learn what's working and not. We were able to run multiple experiments at once and it's super easy to learn.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Not much except there might be a tiny increase in page load time due to the Optimizely snippet. Besides that, if you have a ton of experiments, it may. be hard to keep track of all of them.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Decrease drop off rate. Find best copy and experience and increase consumer experience

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hello,
We love to hear about your high level of satisfaction with our platform! If you ever feel that there is a way we can improve your experience or if you need support, please feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager. You can also message us at reviews@optimizely.com.
Thanks!

  ### 46. Optimizely is a comprehensive, accessible tool with great support from a fantastic team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The easy to use full-stack experience and the support provided by Optimizely's fantastic support and consultancy teams.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

The inability to link multiple ideas to a problem. That would really unlock so much potential as to how Optimizely can be used.

**What problems is Optimizely Web Experimentation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely Experimentation is exposing a new business unit to the concepts of experimentation. By doing this, the value and outcomes of potential changes are understood, shifting away from opinion-based and outputs to measurable outcomes.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hey!
Thanks for leaving us a review. It's great to hear that you're loving our platform. Please feel welcome to share any feedback about our products with your Customer Success Manager or message us at reviews@optimizely.com. Our goal is to make our customers' user experience the best that it can be.

  ### 47. Helpful but not super user friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**

Optimizely makes it easy to analyze your feature metrics quickly and manage user groups.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?**
