We can make use of a fantastic open-source ecosystem of (NuGet) packages to extend the CMS, as well we can write them ourselves to meet any business requirement we can think of. The biggest downside to Optimizely CMS is its pricing, unfortunately. I work at a partially government-funded charity organization that has to comply with some public Procurement Act, so we might be forced to switch from DXP to on-prem or, worse, another CMS, which nobody here really wants, though...
