"Reliable and Developer-Friendly CMS for Enterprise Web Solutions"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?

Optimizely CMS strikes a solid balance between flexibility for developers and ease of use for content authors. The UI is intuitive, making it easy for our content team to manage and publish updates without needing technical intervention. As developers, we benefit from its strong integration capabilities with ASP.NET and C#, allowing us to create custom blocks, APIs, and features with minimal friction.

Implementation is relatively smooth if you're already familiar with .NET, and the modular design encourages clean, maintainable code. We use the platform frequently across multiple global pages and campaigns, and it scales well with our enterprise needs. The CMS also offers a wide set of features, from versioning to localization and user permissions, that are critical for managing large, content-rich sites.

Support from Optimizely has been responsive and helpful whenever we've reached out with questions or run into issues, which adds confidence to our day-to-day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?

The initial learning curve can be steep for developers who are new to the platform, especially when dealing with complex configurations or legacy projects. Some aspects of the documentation can be inconsistent or lacking detail, especially when dealing with version-specific features or upgrades. Additionally, performance can occasionally lag on large-scale content-heavy pages unless optimization is proactively managed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use - if everyone uses it well"
4/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?

It helps me keep on top of my content tasks easily. It also enables quick collaboration and removes clutter from the inbox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?

It takes a while for many people to get used to best practices and even more for everyone to work in the same way. I know this is pretty much up to the implementation team and not the system itself, however, the system is built to be used by people so there is always the human element to be considered.

Aside from that, calendars are hard to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Optimizely CMS Review"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?

Optimizely has been our CMS for the longest time. Best thing about it is the fallback settings, you are able to propagate the change on the page without recreating the pages. second best thing, if can be considered, is the preview page. It allows you to view the page and review it without publishing the oage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?

The navigation. It took us some time to be familiar with the navigation especially if you are creating blocks within the blocks structures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A mostly good start for Optimizely SaaS CMS, but with some edges to be polished."
4/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?

Some communality with the traditional Optimizely CMS, in terms of structure and look & feel;

Search functionality included OOB;

Quick support, and willingness to make additions/improvements based on feedback;

Configuration via GUI is simple and easy; Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?

As customization is limited, things like extended configuration options for things like rich text fields would be appreciated by content editors;

GraphQl makes FE integration easy, though there is room for improvement (things like field nullability, and content area fields should reflect the types actually allowed);

Lack of tools for content/configuration synchronization across environments (GUI and API options are available, but make it difficult to keep track of what's being changed in each environment); Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
