## Optimizely Content Management System Reviews
  ### 1. User-Friendly CMS with Some Limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beatrice B. | Translator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I use Optimizely Content Management System for localizing, creating, and optimizing landing pages. I find it very user-friendly and appreciate that it's structured to serve even junior-level e-commerce coordinators. I like the layout and category structure, allowing me to review, preview, and localize content from master languages effectively.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Sometimes it's very clumsy and has certain features missing or that simply don't work. It is quite a limited platform when it comes to creating more creative content, such as articles or adjusted landing pages.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Optimizely Content Management System for localizing and optimizing landing pages and as a platform for our e-commerce, managing products and CMS pages.

  ### 2. Optimizely is a robust CMS with a rich feature set for organizations of all sizes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian L. | Senior Director, CRM and Web Integration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The Optimizely CMS is intuitive and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The system is expensive and could be cost-prohibitive for smaller organizations.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Optimizely to run our website to support over 100,000+ of our members. The Optimizely CMS is solving several key challenges for the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) by streamlining content creation, management, and delivery across its digital platforms. Prior to implementation, AMTA likely faced difficulties with outdated content workflows, inconsistent user experiences, and limited personalization capabilities. Optimizely CMS addresses these issues by providing a user-friendly interface, robust content personalization tools, and seamless integration capabilities. This empowers AMTA to deliver relevant, timely information to its members and site visitors, enhance engagement, and maintain a consistent brand voice. As a result, the association can better support its mission of promoting the massage therapy profession and serving its members through a more dynamic and responsive digital presence.

  ### 3. Reliable and Developer-Friendly CMS for Enterprise Web Solutions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Optimizely CMS strikes a solid balance between flexibility for developers and ease of use for content authors. The UI is intuitive, making it easy for our content team to manage and publish updates without needing technical intervention. As developers, we benefit from its strong integration capabilities with ASP.NET and C#, allowing us to create custom blocks, APIs, and features with minimal friction.

Implementation is relatively smooth if you're already familiar with .NET, and the modular design encourages clean, maintainable code. We use the platform frequently across multiple global pages and campaigns, and it scales well with our enterprise needs. The CMS also offers a wide set of features, from versioning to localization and user permissions, that are critical for managing large, content-rich sites.

Support from Optimizely has been responsive and helpful whenever we've reached out with questions or run into issues, which adds confidence to our day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The initial learning curve can be steep for developers who are new to the platform, especially when dealing with complex configurations or legacy projects. Some aspects of the documentation can be inconsistent or lacking detail, especially when dealing with version-specific features or upgrades. Additionally, performance can occasionally lag on large-scale content-heavy pages unless optimization is proactively managed.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Optimizely CMS as the core platform for managing and delivering content across our global enterprise website. It supports modular content creation, localized page versions, user role management, and structured publishing workflows. Content authors use it to build and maintain landing pages, support sections, product information pages, and promotional content, while developers extend its functionality to meet specific business and branding requirements.

  ### 4. Easy to use - if everyone uses it well

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrienne K. | Social Media Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

It helps me keep on top of my content tasks easily. It also enables quick collaboration and removes clutter from the inbox.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

It takes a while for many people to get used to best practices and even more for everyone to work in the same way. I know this is pretty much up to the implementation team and not the system itself, however, the system is built to be used by people so there is always the human element to be considered.

Aside from that, calendars are hard to use.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content management is made easy with this tool. No more having to scour emails to search where the last change in an article ended up, it's all in one single place.

  ### 5. Web Developer using Optimizely for Vertiv.com

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Optimizely has 24 hours support that is very helpful when ever an issue is encountered.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Not enough free documentation available online when when they are new features you want to implement to you system.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely is primarily used to show offerings and product details of our company to our possible buyers. Our authors are non-IT users and as developers, we create page and block types that our authors use so they can create article pages to showcase our products and services. Optimizely is easy to use for our authors and they can focus on the content. Development is also easy to understand that even our new developers with no previous experience with CMS can create new pages and blocks immediately.

  ### 6. Optimizely CMS Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Optimizely has been our CMS for the longest time. Best thing about it is the fallback settings, you are able to propagate the change on the page without recreating the pages. second best thing, if can be considered, is the preview page. It allows you to view the page and review it without publishing the oage.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The navigation. It took us some time to be familiar with the navigation especially if you are creating blocks within the blocks structures.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Although the personalization capability of Optimizely is lacking, this is what helps us with the pages and sections we need to limit the audience and personalize the user experience.

  ### 7. Optimizely can still be improved

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Audrey Margareth H. | Supervisor for Content Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Optimizely is sync to our system and it is fairly easy to use

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

In terms of user interface, I feel that this can be improved. not very much looking aesthetically but fairly serves its purpose

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In terms of user interface and user experience, I feel that you have so many options going on your screen. Too many things are happening on the side, panels and even top most surface

  ### 8. A mostly good start for Optimizely SaaS CMS, but with some edges to be polished.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Some communality with the traditional Optimizely CMS, in terms of structure and look & feel;
Search functionality included OOB;
Quick support, and willingness to make additions/improvements based on feedback;
Configuration via GUI is simple and easy;

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

As customization is limited, things like extended configuration options for things like rich text fields would be appreciated by content editors;
GraphQl makes FE integration easy, though there is room for improvement (things like field nullability, and content area fields should reflect the types actually allowed);
Lack of tools for content/configuration synchronization across environments (GUI and API options are available, but make it difficult to keep track of what's being changed in each environment);

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content management and search capabilities, in a headless SaaS.

  ### 9. Optimizely keeps content on track & moving forwardys intu

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

It's very flexible & customisable ensuring, if used correctly - there are no gaps in the creation, editing, approval and so on of any type of content. I'm not sure what we did before it to be honest! Everything is laid out in a logical fashion & users are accountable for their contributions.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Some features need to be more clearly labelled, it's not always intuitive as it should be. The default notifications are a lot and it should be easier to opt out of being a watcher on all tasks & to select a back up person to temporarily take over responsibility for my tasks when I'm away.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables me to manage my workload & know what is the highest priority, it makes collaborating so simple. The
.

  ### 10. Highly flexible platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob F. | Digital Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

There is nothing I have ever wanted to do on Optimizely that couldn't be done, it is highly flexible, anything can be developed with minimal restrictions. The Optimizely environment is also highly reliable and Optimizely's hosting services provide fast load times. Optimizely is capable of handling large numbers of SKUs with complexity including regional pricing and customised content for different visitor groups.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Development of new functionality can be slow and expensive, there are very few out of the box plug ins that can be simply turned on without significant customisation required.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely provides a flexible environment allowing us to cater for complexity with our e-commerce offering, while also meeting our lead generation needs.

  ### 11. A well rounded CMS for Content Authors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clau B. | Digital Marketing Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I like how I can build editorial pages with ease and flexibility with customization

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

None so far, I like it since I've used it

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's how I can create pages as a Content Author for different uses, I can use different page types and different blocks that can deliver almost all requirements on my company

  ### 12. Pretty good CMS tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher S. | Full Stack Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

It is mostly straightforward to use and customizable. You can highly customize using code. As a developer, I use it to create new screen message and page templates that can be edited by others.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I did not like the training material, yawn. The interface seems a bit clunky and outdated. I have not used other CMS solutions so I don't have others to compare to.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great way to pass off to the business tasks that are mundane and out of scope for a developer such as updating pages with new graphics, charts, wording etc.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Christopher,
It's great to hear that Content Cloud has been working well for you and your business! We also value learning about what our customers don't necessarily enjoy about their experience with Optimizely so that we can continue to improve user experience. Please share any feedback on how we can improve with your Customer Success Manager, or you can reach us at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

  ### 13. Powerful system but could be more intuitive

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The system of blocks and pages works well provide you need to have a good understanding of css/html. Promotions and personalisation are great additions.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Relatively steep learning curve for a non technical person. Can be confusing sometimes and it’s easy to make a mess if you don’t keep everything very organised. Need more promotion types and it could do being a bit faster and less clunky to use.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives us a lot of flexibility as we have a good in house skill set. Personalisation is very powerful and system of content blocks and page types works well.

  ### 22. My experience using optimizely CMS for clients as a freelancer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent E. | Marketing Strategist for an Healthcare Store, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Well, I think how it seamlessly integrates with other softwares like CRM and Ecommerce platforms for instance. Makes it quite easy and user friendly to use.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The complexity. More often than usual, I find myself going back to watch vidoes or requesting for technical help/support. So if they can make series of step by step guides, then it would be good.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, some of my freelance clients do struggle with low conversation rates on my site.

Optimizely CMS integrates seamlessly with A/B testing and experimentation tools, allowing me to test different versions of product pages, checkout processes, and promotional content. Now, I can identify which variations perform best and implement those changes to increase conversions..... Taaada! Haha

  ### 23. Solid CMS with expected features and ease in management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

1. Ease in Management - It is a easily navigatable platform with a lag-free interface
2. Features - Big fan of the A/B testing feature which can be done without much effort and integrate with our personal systems
3. Customization - We are able to personalize what we want to have appear in pages which are easy to access

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

1. Price - Too pricey to afford for medium sized businesses compared to competitors
2. Generic but not different - It is very similar to other systems we've seen and used, nothing out of the ordinary which stands out or justifies the spend
3. Can get complicated to use for new users who struggle to get going quick

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Website Efficiency - Able to do various CMS testing methods using features like A/B testing to help optimize our website performance. It has improved the performance of adding new features to improve customer interaction and engagement
2. Personalization - Like I mentioned before, the powerful personalization features allows us to give content relavent to our users based on their user habits, behaviors, and interaction. This has led to better conversion rates

  ### 24. Optimizely Content Management System

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Ease of use - the system is pretty self explanatory, if you have experience of other CMS such as AEM then its easy to transfer skills

Features - whilst it doesnt have all the features you may expect out of the box, there is an active and visible roadmap of support

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Customer service - this is an area that needs work. The ticketing system is over complex, and often responses dont handle the issue on 1st attempt. Whilst response time is reasonable, expect to go back and forth

Implementation - this just nudges into a negative. I would recommend using a third party with experience of Optimizely in most cases

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a hybrid CMS, Optimizely is pretty useful in filling the gap between "simple" CMS and more complex "headless" content CMS.
It means you dont need people with html experience in order to manage content, while also allowing for more complex changes if your team has that skill set

  ### 31. Optimizely for Higher Ed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Optimizely offers excellent flexibility within the software, allowing our team to customize UX to different audiences throughout the site. As a CMS administrator, the built in workflow tools allows multiple content mangers to maintain their specific content, while providing me with oversight and approval functionality before changes are live.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Creating new functionality within the system generally requires the assitance of an external developer. It would be nice if there were more user friendly tools to enable non-techinal users to customize functionality features.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workflow automation allows me to review and approve content created by multiple content contributors within my organization.

  ### 32. The Optimizely effect on digital brilliance.

With Optimizely, my digital playground becomes a launchpad for next-level experiences. Mix, Match, and experiment with ease to find the golden formula that wows my audience.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I really liked what Optimizely had to offer- great features for experimenting and optimizing digital experiences. Unfortunately, the paid subscription didn't align with my budget limitations.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating within a highly competitive landscape, financial services companies like ours can leverage Optimizely to conduct A/B testing and experimentation. Enables us to refine our website and digital interface, resulting in enhanced user experiences, smoother navigation, and streamlined processes. These improvements are crucial and retaining customers in the digital age.

  ### 33. Easy to use CMS for small enterprises.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay S. | Stock Broker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The user interface of this CMS is very easy to understand for a naive user like me. Its dashboard is very appealing visually and navigation on this platform is like charm.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I find the support team a lilte slow. That's the only thing annoyed me.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to add and remove contents from our online materials and web pages in real time. Without taking help of any developers, I can manage my contents by myself in just few clicks.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

  ### 34. A really good leading CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Allows huge teams of editors to manage website copy and assets intuitively and productively.Love the projects features and A+B testing. Also the framework is well designed, in the past we've relied on the good c# design of the framework to reach in and customize items via inheritance and dependency injection.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Sometimes our clients need hundereds or thousands of products in a single directory/catalog node, and when that happens the UI in the front end start losing features and slowing down, so we have to ask clients to carefully consider the product layout.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives editors the freedom to create and manage their own content, so once we have design and coded the basic site, we know the client will keep the content fresh and update to very little assistance from our agency.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for your Optimizely CMS review! It's great to hear that it's working great for your organization. We ask that you share your feedback into how we can improve user experience directly with your Customer Success Manager or you can leave us a message with any questions or concerns at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 35. Optimizely CMS is a developer friendly, highly custimizable CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johan B. | .NET Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I like that Optimizely CMS runs on the latest .NET version (6 and now 7) and is really developer friendly. We can make use of a fantastic open-source ecosystem of (NuGet) packages to extend the CMS, as well we can write them ourselves to meet any business requirement we can think of.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The biggest downside to Optimizely CMS is its pricing, unfortunately. I work at a partially government-funded charity organization that has to comply with some public Procurement Act, so we might be forced to switch from DXP to on-prem or, worse, another CMS, which nobody here really wants, though... The pricing also made the CMS a hard sell when I worked at Indivirtual.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a CMS, it solves all the content management bits that make our content editors productive. Optimizely CMS is the backbone of most of our systems, from the public www to a my-environment to delivering content via a third-party service, all the while editors can stay in control.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi Johan,
Thanks for your review, it's great to hear about your experiences with our CMS. We highly value your business as a customer and would greatly appreciate if you could share any of your reservations with your Customer Success Manager, or you can always leave us a message at reviews@optimizely.com.

  ### 36. The perfect CMS for a marketing department

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

For the proper use, this CMS can be a handy tool. It excels at taking ideas from a marketing department or employee and turning that into an actual website. It's very straightforward to use.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The environment lacks customization - it seems to be meant to give a quick result with minimal fuss. However, it does excel at the mobile experience. It's worth using for that aspect alone!

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizely solves the need for fast, simple solutions to ideas that must be implemented quickly. It takes a lot of the design and development process out of the way. You can template and use the content across many portals or sites.

**Official Response from Emma Davis:**

> Hi There,
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. It's great to hear that your marketing department is finding our tool user friendly. We ask that you share your feedback on how we could improve Optimizely CMS directly with your Customer Success Manager or you can leave us a message at reviews@optimizely.com and we'll connect you with the right people.

The system is easy to learn for employees across departments and documentation on how to use is readily available. Overall, the user interface is straightforward and can be implemented quickly.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Cost is high and features are not quite as advanced/in-depth as others

  ### 43. A CMS which delivers on it's promises

Episerver is really logical, and there's a lot of nice features which are easy to understand.

  ### 45. EpiServer is the best .NET CMS system for enterprise level systems

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric M. | Technical Lead, Digital Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Epi CMS has a really intuitive and easy set of libraries to work off of, and is very flexible for creating pages and templates. It is quite easy to work with, and the support services team is very helpful for fixing issues. They also have one of the best update cadences that I've ever seen. They roll out a security patch and enhancement patch for each system every single week. It is easy to update the system, as a developer.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I dislike the implementation partners. We've been through two who didn't necessarily know what they were doing. The DXC Service has a few failure points; At the Cloudflare level, as well as at the Azure level. EpiServer does not have any control over both platforms if there is a failure. Not a problem for us, but we have heard other customers say how difficult it is to implement without developers.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Content Management System:**

For enterprises that have .NET developers, this is hands down the best option. I would very recommend going with the DXC Service in the cloud.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to successfully make it so the Marketing/Advertising department can handle the day-to-day content updates, while the Engineering team creates the pages and look/feel using code. This means that the Engineering team can focus on implementing new technology, rather than just putting copy on the page.

  ### 46. Powerful, Flexible, and Customizable CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Support is incredibly fast and responsive. May require a developer on retainer to get the most out of the platform, however, very powerful CMS.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Professional Services can be a bit disjointed. Sometimes feels as if organization is too big.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Replaced our old CMS with Episerver. Taking advantage of content personalization as well as Internationalization (translated pages).

  ### 47. Episerver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I like that once it is set up, it is so easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

That it can get bogged down if too many people are using it at the same time. It also had a huge learning curve to it, and it wasn't easy to learn all of the many tricks.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Content Management System:**

Make it more user friendly for people without coding experience to be able to use this!

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can instantly push content without the help of our IT department. We also are able to stay more fresh, and have more relateable content on our site.

  ### 48. This solution works well when your IT Web Dev staff has experience with MS Dot Net.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

This website solution makes it so much easier for a Site Merchandiser to have a ton of control on their own over site content (without having to go to Web Dev for every little thing).

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

I often feel like tasks are much more difficult than need be. Sometimes even just moving around the software is not the easiest. I think our Web Dev team has something to do with that, however, since they added code to control some things like site look and feel.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Content Management System:**

Don't let your partner make too many choices for you without consulting you for your opinion. Our partner ended up having to be let go since they made so many choices for us without asking us what we thought. It was infuriating to have to go back and "fix" things that we should have never had to do.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epi is in the process of replacing our MS Dot Net home-grown sites. It is supposed to make it much quicker and easier to spin up new sites for our new brands we are adding.

  ### 49. Waukesha County Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David K. | Solutions Administrator, Government Administration, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Optimizely Content Management System?**

The overall flexibility of the product and the support for it are wonderful.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Because it is so flexible, there are are fewer out of box blocks to use. You need to construct everything, even common use items at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Content Management System:**

I think it is more than a CMS. I describe it as a platform/framework for building a web presence. Thus, you can take it in any direction you need to.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the product as a communications tool between our government services and the constituents. It allows us to easily pass information along.

  ### 50. Easy, breezy, resultful

Ease of use is my favorite thing! Quick to edit and make changes; super flexible to run multiple tests simultaneously; Episerver forms functionalities empowers the marketer to create campaigns quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Optimizely Content Management System?**

Sometimes the admin UI does not respond while authoring content causing undue frustration.

**Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Content Management System:**

Make sure you have a content migration strategy in place.

**What problems is Optimizely Content Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customize and personalize content for a variety of users allow us to create meaningful insights and relationships with visitors which has allowed us to improve our conversions by serving the right content at the right time.
