What do you like best about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud revolutionizes the way we do business at our company. We have multiple B2B sales funnels that we'd like to optimize. With B2B Commerce Cloud, we have the ability to segment our business customers based on real-time data -- no more guessing. It's nice being able to manage every aspect of our sales funnels in one view -- orders, carts, pricing, assets, etc. The AI is pretty impressive too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

While the AI is impressive, it's not entirely clear how it works behind the scenes. I'd appreciate it if the AI functionality was a bit more transparent. However, it consistently provides promising results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Optimizely Configured Commerce solving and how is that benefiting you?

Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud gives us the opportunity to improve our sales funnels by intelligently segmenting our B2B customers. In the past, we have attempted to build our own segmentation infrastructure, but it proved to be inefficient and non-scalable. Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Configured Commerce:

Do not expect that your requirements will be met by out of the box functionality. You will need to customize Insite and leverage third-party development firms to do so. Or develop the competency in house which can be challenging. While Insite is built on C# and Angular.js (soon to be react/redux), it's not the sort of CMS a .NET developer can pickup overnight and start coding. Ability to execute more mature paid media campaigns, improved SEO capabilities, and standardized workflow. What do you like best about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

Having access to all the company data from any device, being able to see every aspect of the business and export to different programs. Having the choice to export to both Excel and PDF is especially great. It also provides links to all resources in our entire organization, from marketing, to new software, to product orders, all from the same page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

The organization of different links makes it hard to find what you’re looking for sometimes. It can be really difficult to remember what headings different things are under since they are often under multiple sub headings. Also occasionally data will be missing from certain salons which can be frustrating to fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Configured Commerce:

It's great for large organizations. The pricing information is above my pay grade, but based on the amount of data it's used to process for us, I don't feel as though it would be as beneficial to smaller companies that don't have the data capture in place to utilize the power. When comparing our 16 salons to the 100 or so in our market across 25+ points of data it's incredibly useful but using it to compare a handful of locations all owned by the same owner likely wouldn't be as beneficial. What problems is Optimizely Configured Commerce solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to access critical data anywhere and run reports from a mobile device. I can generate reports from my laptop, iPad, or even phone. What do you dislike about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

Everything - Everything is manual, you can not mass import changes to your products. The user interface is something from 2000, not from 2018. If you want to create a promotional campaign for a large number of products "GOOD LUCK WITH THAT", you will need set every product one by one and to set up promotion you have to move between 4/5 different sections of the platform wasting unnecessary time. Very little to no tutorial or training available, you have to figure things out by yourself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Optimizely Configured Commerce:

My recommendation from my experience is to stay away from this platform. Spend a little more get something else or you will suffer in the long run like we are right now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

Built in CMS is nice so you don't have to purchase a separate product. The Insite code is .C# and ASP.NET based which is good if that's what your expertise is. You can purchase the API functionality which allows you access to build along side and customize some of the Insite functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Configured Commerce?

Be cautious of their sales team. They promised things they can't deliver on out of the box and downplayed difficulty of customization. Product was designed for off the self experience, period. The base code is changing fast and makes upgrading a major nightmare if you customize. Insite doesn't want to deal with it's customers directly. They seem more interested in growth for their equity partner and future sale to competitor than long-term growth for their customers. You'll be pushed off onto third party partner. The issue is that their partners are limited and have limited experience with Insite code. Most partners are geared toward Sitecore and have serious challenges with any custom implementation. Expect your partners to underestimate everything,, timelines to be five times the original estimate, implementation costs to be five times original estimates. In truth, if you need a customized solution, I'd stay away from Insite. For pay, SAP Hybris is much more flexible and you can negotiate the price down to about two times Insite. While this is initially more expensive, it will save you in the long haul. For free, there's nopCommerce, been around a long time and support costs are an absolute bargain compared to Hybris and Insite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
