I use tree tests and card sorting studies for quantitative research multiple times per year. It's easy to setup studies and the OW tools are best in class and very flexible. Analysing results using their visualisations make it easy to spot insight. Exporting the results into my own spreadsheets for further analysis is straightforward. The analysis tools for card sorting and treejack testing in particular have no equal. I've explored other tools in this space for information architecture work and these are the reason I've never truely considered switching. Being able to have access to so many metrics and ways of looking at the data makes it easy to conduct detailed synthesis and draw concrete conclusions.

The lack of logic / quotas for recruitment severely restricts the value of using Optimal Workshop recruitment.

For example, I am unable to divide a 100 participant study to gather a set quote of 50 participants from group A and 50 participants from group B. While I am able to screen participants I am unable to select specific quotas for different screener questions and pathways, the screener is binary either you pass or are rejected from the study.

We have tried work arounds by creating two seperate studies for different groups however the inability to combine studies means results need to be analysed outside of OW losing access to the analysis tools.

Having this address would greatly open up our recruitment options and improve the tool exponentially for research involving multiple segments, especially for web or digital IA work as there are often multiple segments and user types we want to test with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really appreciate Optimal Workshop’s intuitive setup, which allowed me to get started without needing a guide. The tool tips and help articles are great. Optimal Workshop has been a great tool for conducting unmoderated user research like surveys, prototype tests, card sorts, and tree tests. Optimal provides a great interface to work with. I have used it for many UX research sessions and it feels great to have a tool which helps you conduct various research methods. One thing which threw me off was the flexibility element. When setting up the research, I needed to change the order or wanted a certain type of input which I couldn’t add.
