What do you like best about OpenText Server Backup?

Carbonite is a reliable straight forward backup and recovery platform. It is latest iteration from the original Evault product line that was acquired by OpenText. It is lower cost compared to other offerings such as CommVault, Cohesity, Rubrik or Veeam.

However it doesn't have all of the same features that those products do, but it delivers well on what it does. It is solid product which delivers reliable, compressed backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?

Doesn't have all of the advanced features that it's competitors have in their products. As well, they are lagging behind in terms of cloud backup features. It is a good on-premise solution, but there are better options for the cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenText Server Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are solving the problems of reliable backups of our VMs on-premise. None of our restore jobs have never failed with Carbonite backup I don't think ever to be honest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenText Server Backup?

Price point can sometimes be seen as a little bit high, but compared to the competition, the price is relatively competitive and nothing to complain about. I wish the industry as a whole was cheaper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenText Server Backup?

Very easy to use GUI. Speed to restore is pretty good. Customer service is quite responsive when needed. Overall, we're quite happy with Carbonite, and they're our current choice over for our cloud backup infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Server Backup?

While restore times are good, they're not the best of the competitors we've tried. Be mindful that there are some limitations of Teams backups, such as chat that these types of systems just can't do. Also, we don't receive much communication from Carbonite about upcoming features or updates (but this could also be considered a positive depending on your preferences) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The backup system is great. The support is very good. If you have an issue someone is there to help right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The sales department takes forever to get back to you. Trying to pay outstanding invoices takes forever. Account managers are very busy and respond days later instead of within a few hours like most other companies. The service is very expensive compared to other vendors. Backing up network drives so in case something goes away we still would have it. No real benefits until we have to restore something, mostly in case if our network gets infected with viruses or something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
