It's been a rock solid platform, with very little downtime that wasn't scheduled. We've never had to perform major maintenance on this in 20 years, which is unheard of. **What do you dislike about OpenText GroupWise?** GroupWise was once a popular product, with numerous third party tools available, and a large number of consultants and suppliers would be able to resell and support it. Nowadays it's become very niche, and we have struggled to justify maintaining the product over the last 4-5 years, and this year we sadly migrate away due to the cost to maintain being near identical to an O365 migration. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText GroupWise:** Make sure you have compared the costs of implementing, running, and maintaining GroupWise. Find a good partner and make sure they have a commitment to the product long term **What problems is OpenText GroupWise solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have had a fully featured corporate email solution for 20 years, it has allowed the business to grow in the early days when some customers and suppliers didn't even have a corporate email system. We have maintained a secure and reliable message store holding critical data in both emails and documents, with no real need to ever take the data out of GroupWise. Fully indexed and searchable, we've used it as our first port of call to get access to critical contract data. ### 3. Okay for business use **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Tommy S. | Criminal Intelligence Analyst II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2018 **What do you like best about OpenText GroupWise?** I like the fact that Groupwise easily syncs with my company/agency iPhone, including mail, appointments, the calendar, and all subfolders in the cabinet. **What do you dislike about OpenText GroupWise?** I dislike the fact that it does not allow certain convenience features, such as the new "recent items" feature that Microsoft Outlook has, which allows you to quickly attach recently saved or accessed items/documents/files. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText GroupWise:** I would just make sure to do your homework when considering what software to purchase for your company's or agency's email needs. Groupwise works because it connects easily and is secure; however, other programs may be better for you if it is ease of use or a feature rich environment that you require. **What problems is OpenText GroupWise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Inter-office connectivity is a GREAT plus for using Groupwise, and it syncs even better than competing mail handling programs, like Outlook. ### 4.
