Microfocus (then HP) came as top based on the features in ALM (Test management interface) and UFT (for development of test scripts) What I liked while using Microifcus ALM and UFT is it was very developer-friendly and could handle the library in the script and had strong integration with SAP. The output of the script as results were also clear. **What do you dislike about Opentext functional Testing for Developers?** Automation Scripts that were created in UFT relied on specific Data and there was not much support for automating data supply. Further, it required long hours of installation due to lot many pre-requisites. However, still we were able to use UFT in a much more useful manner. **Recommendations to others considering Opentext functional Testing for Developers:** If you are SAP user and want to automate large number of primary SAP transactions, you can definitely rely on Microfocus UFT and ALM **What problems is Opentext functional Testing for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving a major problem of lengthy unreliable manual SAP testing by allowing to record screen transactions. It benefitted me as a Test automation manager to allocate work to my developers and track the progress of Script development within the tool itself. ### 3. It uses VB Script which is quite easy to understand and learn. Since it has its own IDE, it becomes very easy to manage all things in one place. **What do you dislike about Opentext functional Testing for Developers?** Two things I don't like are 1. It uses VBScript. VBScript does not have good rich features as a programming language. 2. The Community or support for UFT is very minimal nowadays. For other test automation, You can find so much help online but for UFT it is very little. **Recommendations to others considering Opentext functional Testing for Developers:** It's a very good tool for test automation. Mainly for legacy applications. It provides well security and reporting with its IDE. You can customize your report and analyze loopholes within the system. But make sure when you are working or selecting this tool for test automation, one expert should be present in your team. **What problems is Opentext functional Testing for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?** All sorts of test automation can be performed with the help of UFT. You can automate Standalone, Web-based applications as well as API, Mainframe, and many more. It also provides nowadays OSV and AI. ### 5.
