I used Novell Flir while working in my university IT department. Its a good tool and setup is pretty straight forward. Our staff and students (Especially CS students) used it for managing our shared file spaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For our needs I think the tool was a bit overkill. At $4500/user it seems a bit ridiculous when a large majority of our users were able to meet their needs simply by mapping network drives. I don't know if this has changed but at the time Flir was not cross-platform which made the idea to invest in this software seem like a bad idea to me considering a large number of our users utilized Mac OS and Linux based OSes.
