"Moving to Next Generation Faxing"
What do you like best about OpenText Core Fax?

Xmedius is extremely flexible in how it can deliver Fax Messages, it's also nice to have the Service Provider Edition and split up departments to customize their faxing needs, while maintaining a level of security between Departments in compliance with HIPAA, etc. Scalability is also key, with some great fail-over capabilities. Their Technical Support is top notch and is always willing to help regardless of the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

Lack of a MAC App to integrate MACs into Xmedius, the inability to chain "Sites" within the Service Provider Edition, to combine SITES, while still maintaining settings between sites. Also, with so many features available within Xmedius, sometimes it's hard for a business to understand the "Best Practices" on how yo setup Xmedius, and they don't do a good enough job in assisting here. "XMedius Cloud Fax Service (XMFax) Review"
What do you like best about OpenText Core Fax?

We recently migrated from RightFax (on-prem) to XMedius Fax and no longer need to host the infrastructure in house. The account provisioning process is quick and simple. Technical support is generally very responsive and helpful. I pestered them with lots of questions initially and they assisted me with every single one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

Their technical support ticketing system is separate from their provisioning ticketing system. I will elaborate. I opened several tech support tickets and had a great experience emailing back and forth with support. My issues were handled promptly. When I submitted a number porting request application, I got an email saying the request was denied because the name on the form was not authorized with the carrier. No big deal. I addressed the issue and replied to the email asking how to proceed. I heard nothing. Over the course of two weeks I emailed them several times and received no response. Eventually I called in only to discover that there are two systems and if I reply to an email from the provisioning system it essentially goes nowhere. Instead I needed to log back into the portal, look up the provisioning request, go to the comments tab and enter my replies there. No one tells you this. You need to figure it out on your own. It's obviously not the end of the world, but given that our old fax platform was no longer working, it did have an impact. I will say that once I understood how to communicate with the provisioning team, things went much better.

One other thing - they don't have native integration with Active Directory. They have a very convoluted way to periodically sync using a Python script. For such a mainstream service, I would expect better integration with at least the most popular systems like Active Directory. Same goes for the initial import of users. I spent a couple hours trying to get the Python script to work and eventually just ended up manually creating accounts as needed. It was not worth the headache, though it now introduces another system that needs to be maintained manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eduardo Duque of OpenText Core Fax

Hi Shawn,

We’re glad the XM Fax solution is working out well for your needs.

Thank you for your valuable feedback about the number porting system and Active Directory integration. We will look into improving the messaging directing recipients of provisioning request emails to the portal. It’s possible we can make it clearer/more prominent. XM Fax users can access the service in a variety of ways besides the web portal, but that convenience brings with it a tradeoff: native integration with Active Directory is unfortunately not possible. However, we’re going to add an item to our development backlog to review our Python integration to see how we can improve it.

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

Response from Eduardo Duque of OpenText Core Fax

Hi Matthew, thank you so much for your kind review. We’re glad XM Fax is delivering for you!

We also love your very valuable feedback regarding multi-recipient notification, access tracking within teams, and a tagging system. We’re looking into adding something to address those concerns to the roadmap.

Thanks again!

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

What's not to like? It's a great product. I suppose if anything it would be that it doesn't work if the internet is down? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Faxing made easy!"
What do you like best about OpenText Core Fax?

Makes faxing easy for our staff and allows us to cancel our analog phone lines and dispose of our outdated fax machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

I don't care for the pre-paid subscription plans that expire in 1, 3 or 5 years. We had to (gu)estimate how many fax pages are sent and received because as an organization, this information was not known. We didn't want to purchase too many credits and have them expire before they were used (wasted money), but also wanted to take advantage of lower pricing per page by buying more credits. "The application is mature, the team that supports it, they are just phenomenal."
What do you like best about OpenText Core Fax?

We are a hosted solution provider and work with many application vendors, out of the dozens of support teams for those applications the Xmedius support team has always been the most responsive. Everyone is knowledgable about the product and I've never had to stop and think "what are our SLA's for their support?", I can count the application vendor teams like that on one hand and the Xmedius support team is the top of that list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Core Fax?

That we don't have the opportunity for introducing more products by them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
