It's easy and light weight to use. UI is good and the tool is constantly enhanced to full full all required features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the response is delayed and the page gets locked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no question that the quality of OpenText products is among the best. We use their TradingGrid VAN EDI mailbox service (TGMS) and previously used their Active Catalogue service. Both services are excellent in quality and any issues are resolved in a timely manner. That said, their prices for said services are far from competitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the dislikes we initially had was that the panels for checking document history were very outdated. Not to mention, the interface was very slow and the connection would routinely time out. The slowness issue has been fixed within the past year as they've updated their interface, and the back-end seems more robust.
However, the cost is our main dislike with OpenText's service. While we understand and believe that quality products don't come cheap, they also don't need to be exorbitantly high, especially considering that they charge you per kilobytes, as if we were still in the 90s (most VANs still bill this way). OpenText's costs are easily among the highest of all EDI VAN service vendors, from our research into migrating away from them. That said, their costs are unlikely to drop, as the Macy's and JCPenney's of the world likely can't afford to move away from systems that are likely too far embedded into OpenText's service environment. Furthermore, as was somewhat expected, OpenText was not very accomodating when we brought up the termination of our services with them - it's as if the years of business we gave them didn't mean anything. I do not like Opentext. I would just never recommend them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Opentext makes you pay for every little change, make forever to make a change, and their portal is not very good. If you are a corporation and you do EDI messages as a way to communicate with distributors/customers, do not go with them. EDI is a standard but still not straightforward way to exchange data. When setting up a new integration, new messages, many details have to be clarified with different parties involved. You must be agile in order to do edi. Changes, even small, will take days, with OpenText and they will make you pay for every little change. Even their interface to look for documents is a mess and very slow. If you want to save frustration, save your sanity, your time, and your efficiency, don't go with OpenText.
Best solution is to go with an in house EDI technical specialist with a third party application he will configure. If you have choice with taking a third party full package, negotiate to have somebody fully dedicated to your corporation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
