The OpenNMS platform monitors some of the largest networks in existence, covering the healthcare, technology, finance, government, education, retail and industrial sectors, many with tens of thousands of networked devices. OpenNMS users include five of the top twenty companies on the Fortune 100, as well as multiple large and multi-state health providers and one of the largest electronic medical record providers in the United States. ## OpenNMS Platform Reviews ### 1. With what I worked, alarms , polling were very well implemented. It has very vast functionality. **What do you dislike about OpenNMS Platform?** Eclipse integration wasn't made easy. Without IDE , its very tough to navigate through code base. However, I tried to import it in Eclipse, but failed with so many errors in hand. And I had to use it without IDE. **What problems is OpenNMS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were using it for showing packet data, polling , alarms, charting etc. It was the front end . ### 2. Onboarding a server is pretty much easy. Just give IP address/Hostname and provision. That's it. **What do you dislike about OpenNMS Platform?** UI can be more realistic and colorful like Ops-Genie. **Recommendations to others considering OpenNMS Platform:** Nothing. **What problems is OpenNMS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Monitoring of different servers and switches. Getting alerts and usage in meaningful graphs. ### 3. ONMS helps enterprise architecture to have all in control. **What do you dislike about OpenNMS Platform?** Some configurations can be a bit hard and not intuitive for who in new inONMS usage. The UI can be re-arranged in a more modern way. **What problems is OpenNMS Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fortunately problems are not so much, but the UI is the one that I’ll change. Often some devices are not so intuitive via SNMP and users can have difficulty to monitoring them as is simple to collect a Linux box. Forecasting resources by analyzing collected data, is one of the benefits, but cold be improved. ### 6.
