Overall openJDK8 is very stable with minor issues. It is faster, with good amount of new features ( though with Java11 and above , we get even more of them). And with Ubuntu (or any other Debian distribution) , Java 8 (or any other java version for that matter) , easy of installaion and configuration along with faster application deployments are some major advantage. Of course, it is less featured as compared to the latest JDKs but I did not really dislike anything, Open JDK version 8 is sort of the standard for many software and businesses that implement it, and I feel is the most spread and widely used as of now.
