## OpenFlows WorkSuite Reviews
  ### 1. Useful sanitary Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahmoud o. | Mechanical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

It can create different models for sanitary systems with good amount of accuracy taking in consideration the losses through the system. Also, it helps in increasing information mobility through the project itself which leads to rely on the models results

**What do you dislike about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

You have to go through a lot of inputs, levels, and other variables to make sure to get the best accurate results, which is fine but it is somehow time consuming

**What problems is OpenFlows WorkSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building Sewer models, creating profiles for pipe systems, checking manholes distribution, confirming adequate flow rate and pressure through the system. This program is really helpful with creating different scenarios which again, provide more accurate and realistic results

  ### 2. I have briefly used sewer cad as an intern

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany Q. | Civil Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

I think it is extremely helpful for those that heavily specialize in hydraulic flow modeling. It cuts out a lot of calculation time as long as you are extremely familiar with all the calculations you would normally do by hand or another program.

**What do you dislike about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

There's a huge learning curve. For advanced users that master all the features, this is very very time saving. I wish that there were videos/text that are created by sewerCad to tell you simple answers such as "how to find flow rate"... press this and that. It'd be helpful for a keyword search.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenFlows WorkSuite:**

I think it would be very helpful to watch a lot of youtube tutorials first in order to understand advanced functions (if you already know the basics) first. I spent a lot of time trying to grasp the basics from youtube videos and that was time consuming in itself. I would hope Sewer cad has their own faster tutorial if possible.

**What problems is OpenFlows WorkSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes a lot of time to learn about the features unless you have a mentor sitting right next to you telling you what to press and why. If you are the mentor that understands every feature and how time saving the program is, it is useful. I think long time usage of this product makes sense. Since I only used it briefly, I spent more times watching hot to videos from bentley on youtube to grasp the fundamentals. Even that was a bit time consuming. Would SewerCad have their own faster tutorial course?

  ### 3. Simple, Straightforward and Solid Sewer Design Aid

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron B. | Designer and Artist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

SewerCad provides ready to use calculators for all the typical design parameters involved in sewer design. These basic calculations, such as Manning’s velocity, are really easy to use and conveniently export into a report ready format.

**What do you dislike about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

It is great for addressing a few specifics pipes or features like inlets or orifices, however for a large system their doesn’t appear to be an easy way to develop a representation from a CAD file or otherwise, while the reporting is also less convenient on a system wide basis.

**What problems is OpenFlows WorkSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SewerCAD keeps the workflow flowing steady by solving fundamental equations related to sewer design. Whether you need to achieve a certain velocity in a pipe or just want to know the flow rate through an orifice, you can iterate on design parameters easily, switching between set conditions without having to reset up your spreadsheet.

  ### 18. Using stormcad to model closed drainage systems

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

I like the simplicity of it. Creating profiles and finding stats on the storm sewers is easy to do. And I enjoy being able to use it in MIcrostation as well. The project overall is effective at what it is billed at--sizing storm sewers effectively.

**What do you dislike about OpenFlows WorkSuite?**

I wish things like spacing and the library catalog were more in depth. Some things like that in the program are almost 'too' simple. Having a greater library and being able to have a better way to space inlets would be helpful (like in Geopak Drainage where you can place a storm sewer on an alignment and the cross slope/profile slope automatically updates). I also wish it had an option to allow headwalls, as often there are culvert-type end sections connected to a storm sewer. This would help a lot to model the system as a whole. The project also tends to be buggy-much of the linework seems to be corrupted every once in a while, it's not something that makes it impossible to work with, but it does get annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenFlows WorkSuite:**

I would recommend understanding basic hydraulic and hydrological concepts before using.

**What problems is OpenFlows WorkSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm being able to correctly size storm sewers for closed drainage. Usually this is done on highway projects. I benefited from being able to do calculations via a computer program and not by hand. Generally however, a product such as Stormcad is required to submit calculations, so this is a software option to use.
