Now the in-built BOM generation of altium is a mess. The Excel file will be messy. You need work on the excel file for at least one day. You need to have a deep understanding of excel file to make the automatic generated file proper. Where as the OPENBOM generated excel file is clean & tidy. I don't need to work on the excel file after generation through OpenBOM. There is virtually non-existent time spent on deplying it and learning is also easy. **What do you dislike about OpenBOM?** Some aspects of the user interface are not completelly intuitive. I got some time getting used to the dynamic between Catalog and Bom, as, visually, they are extremelly alike. Also, I would like to have a more refined control over users administration, like specifying which properties they can edit, for example. **Recommendations to others considering OpenBOM:** Try it out with the CAD software you use before purchasing it.
