"OpenAsset has been a game-changer for our team."
5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

Our team love having all of our assets in one location. Images, project information, and videos are located quickly and efficiently. The Vantagepoint connection makes sure that the data is accurate and being pulled from the right place. Many users find Vantagepoint to be confusing but appreaciate that they can access the same data in OpenAsset in a more user-friendly way. You no longer need to search through data sheets or proposals to find the information you seek. Everyone loves the AI search feature--you can find similar photos or project features quickly, even if the projects are in different market sectors. The ability to drag & drop images directly into InDesign and PowerPoint is a huge time-saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Before migrating your data, make sure it is organized and consistently named. The migration experts will help to link your resources to Vantagepoint, but they can't read your mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using open asset makes life easier and work of different bdp studios accessible to all studios"
4/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

The best thing about OpenAsset, in my opinion, is how easily it links our project data and visual assets. Having a centralised platform where we can easily locate excellent photos, drawings, and marketing materials is crucial because we operate across disciplines and geographical locations at BDP. It helps us present our work in a way that accurately captures the scope and calibre of what we do, saves time, and maintains consistency in our branding. When assembling bids or presentations, it's particularly useful because everything is readily available, well-organised, and prepared. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Although OpenAsset is really helpful, I feel that the search feature may occasionally be a little stiff; if you're not using the precise proper keywords or tags, it's easy to miss essential papers or images. Additionally, because BDP has such a large portfolio, it might be difficult to keep everything consistently categorised and current, which occasionally makes it harder to discover what you're searching for. However, when used properly, the advantages generally exceed the disadvantages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Hi Purna,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this thoughtful review. We're so glad to hear it's proven to be a great tool for you and the rest of your team.

Regarding your feedback on the search - have you had a chance to try our new AI Visual Search feature? It was designed to help with exactly what you mentioned - removing the need to get keywords just right in order to find the right content.

I've linked our help site article that includes a quick demo video, and our team is always happy to chat about ways we can work together to make your content even easier to find.

On that note, we’re also working on a broader overhaul of our search experience to make it even more intuitive. More updates coming soon!

"user experience much better than other softwares"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

The ease of use, features it has for our team, and user experience is top of the line for AEC softwares. The AI search function is a god-send. The bulk uploading process was seamless through their team who made it easy. The templates are very easily usable and streamlines a lot of our workflows. The software has been very customizable to our needs and not necessarily a one-size-fits all method (which is good) - has been very easy to integrate with Unanet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

The tagging of metadata is very time consuming, so much that sometimes our team doesn't have the capacity to take it on. Sometimes, a little too much clicking to get to one function like seeing a projects images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Thanks so much for the great review!

We hear you on metadata tagging being time-consuming.

Good news: a few months ago, we released our AI visual search tool to help eliminate manual tagging for things visually present in your images, making it much faster to find what you need (and make the upload process faster, too).

If you haven't had a chance to explore it yet, I recommend checking it out. I've linked our Help Site article which includes a demo video showing you how it works.

Please also feel free to reach out to our team – we're happy to show you how it can specifically benefit your OpenAsset system.

"Pushing it to its limits"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

Organization by project, ability to search/tag/ai. The support team is great, always willing to meet and help, always responsive. The upload was very large but the team did really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Still getting buy-in from the team, and everyone having enough time to learn and implement everything. Also, we had been told initially, that everyone in the company could at least go in and search/poke around. But apparently that isn't the case. Everyone needs to be a paid user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Thanks so much for the thoughtful review! It's great to hear that the organization, search, and AI features are beneficial - and that our support team has been helpful.

Regarding the buy-in and adoption - we're investing in making OpenAsset easier for less-frequent users.

And regarding the user access, we'd love to chat about your team's access needs - there may be options that work better for you. Feel free to connect with your Customer Success Manager to discuss this further.

"Open Asset Improved Workflow"
5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

The most helpful aspect of Open Asset is its ability to centralize and organize our marketing materials. My experience with Open Asset has been transformative, streamlining my workflow significantly with its seamless organization and an intuitive interface that makes managing assets effortless. I especially like the drag and drop feature. I find myself using Open Asset quite frequently during my workday.

Customer and Technical Support are outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

One potential drawback of Open Asset is that bulk uploading or editing metadata can sometimes feel time-consuming or less flexible than expected, especially for large-scale content updates. Additionally, initial setup and tagging requires significant effort to ensure long-term usefulness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Hey there - thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback!

Great to hear that you're finding OpenAsset a valuable tool. We have been seeing more and more folks in BD roles using the system like you. And I'm glad to hear the customer support is meeting and exceeding your expectations. They are awesome!

We also appreciate your feedback on the effort required to bulk upload and edit, as well as setup the tool. We're actively working on ways to address these; for example, a new spreadsheet importer tool to make this process faster.

Thanks again!

"OpenAsset is an efficient and reliable digital asset manager and would 10/10 recommend!"
5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

I appreciate the ease of adding/uploading assets and I find the user-friendly interface makes it easy to quickly locate what I'm looking for. I work for a large company with marketing departments all over the globe that need to share high quality digital assets/accurate information in a quick, efficient manner and OpenAsset makes that possible. The ability to drag-and-drop between OpenAsset and InDesign with the plug-in has also been a game-changer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Searching can be time-consuming. Although the search function is useful, sometimes accessing specific assets requires precise tagging; and, if the tagging/ categorizing wasn't completed correctly or at all by the uploader, it quickly becomes much less helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Thank you so much for your review! We're glad to hear that OpenAsset has helped your firm stay organized and improve efficiency with proposals and other marketing efforts.

We appreciate your feedback on search, and wanted to share a new feature that might help. Have you tried our AI Visual Search tool? It allows you to find images based on visual elements rather than relying on keywords, making it faster and easier to find what you're looking for. You can also pair AI Visual Search with the traditional search (ex: using project or file keywords) drill down further.

Check out our help site article below for a walkthrough, including a quick demo video:

"Open asset - One place solution"

What do you like best about OpenAsset?

Open asset is very helpful and efficient in searching the database of all the employees with their work experience, projects worked on, etc., by BDP worldwide. It provides properly highlighted documents and images for fair use, which can be used in making presentations or reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Open asset interface should be more user-friendly for a new user to familiarize themselves quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient and clever way to access shared images."
5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

Open Asset has proven to be very efficient and steady. When searching for images or projects through my company, it narrows down your search and opens links and all sorts of information related to that. It is like a company search engine, reliable and consistent. Its new release of searching by visual content is extremely useful and allows users to search for images or projects that may have complicated names. Overall, due to its efficiency and features i cannot recommend it enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

There are too many options when downloading an image. A simple one or two options might make the user less overwhelmed when downloading an image. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Hi! So glad to hear you've had a great experience with OpenAsset. We’ve heard a lot of love for the new AI visual search tool, so it’s awesome to know it's working well for you.

Thanks for your note about multiple options when downloading files. I have a couple of ideas that might help simplify your workflow:

- If you're uploading images to documents or presentations, you might look into our Drag & Drop workflow as a more efficient option. Or, if sharing files with others, you could create a Portal, which generates a dynamic, shareable link. You can find more info on those options in our Help Center.

- We can remove unused file sizes or even restrict image sizes by group.

Please feel free to reach out to our team directly if you'd like to discuss options here.

"Fantastic database program with helpful customer service"
5/5
What do you like best about OpenAsset?

Ease of use, available to everyone in the company, one "source of truth", helpful customer service. It took awhile to get it implemented to be so useful, but now that our projects are in it's made day-to-day use so much easier. Our marketing team uses it daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenAsset?

Some updates have confused me, and recently my chat feature seems to be gone and trying to reach customer service was more challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from CJ Teeter of OpenAsset

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review!

I wanted to quickly address a few of the points you brought up:

1. Confusion around updates: Totally fair! We’ve had a lot of back-to-back releases lately, and some big changes have landed. I’ll share a few help articles that walk through what’s new and how to navigate them.

https://success.openasset.com/en/articles/10031965-using-ai-visual-search

https://success.openasset.com/en/articles/9403484-portals-share-files-information-with-others

https://success.openasset.com/en/articles/10258226-text-library

2. Chat feature disappearing: I checked in with our Support team on this. Sometimes in-browser ad blockers can prevent the chat bubble from loading. I would recommend checking your browser settings or having your IT team take a quick look.

3. Reaching support: Sorry that was frustrating. In the top right of your OpenAsset screen, you should see a question mark icon - clicking that will let you access support and submit a ticket directly.

We’re really glad to hear your team finds OpenAsset useful day-to-day, and we’re here to help however we can!
