## OpenAsset Reviews
  ### 1. Great platform, easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The search engine and search by location and keywords.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Would love a more detailed map of all projects.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

To get the most out of this platform, it is important to dedicate time and resources to upload your content correctly.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All visual assets from all offices in one place saves time.

  ### 2. Great Management Tool for Assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The organization and ease of access is fantastic. I also find the templates incredibly helpful. We took our existing photo library which consisted of over 10,000 assets and have been able to thoroughly organize, tag, clean them up in one simple portal. I also love that it links to our Vision database allowing information to be communicated between the two programs.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The new carousel is a bit clunky since you have to switch back and forth between tabs versus earlier releases that had your selected photos at the bottom.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenAsset has significantly reduced image duplicates and has allowed us to organize images so they are accessible at the click of a button versus before when you had to dig through folder after folder.

  ### 3. A godsend!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martha M. | Senior communications specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OpenAsset has increased our group's productivity by leaps and bounds. Its integration with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint was the core reason Barr chose the system, but the two features I'm most grateful for are 1) the ability to drag and drop images into Adobe and Microsoft programs and 2) the automatic creation of multiple versions of an image in custom sizes. I also love two particular features when working in InDesign: the immediate update when a linked image has been edited, and how easy it is to choose a different size of a given image after you've linked it. In addition, I'm very fond of the ability to replace uploaded images with edited versions, as opposed to having to delete the original image and go through the whole uploading process again with the edited version.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The drag-and-drop process for MS files brings the images over in a way that makes changing the text wrap necessary in my documents inconvenient. Also, the need to try to think ahead and create image keywords *before* you upload and profile an image (or else create them afterward and then go back and attach them to the uploaded file) and is a huge pain--there should be a way to create keywords on the fly (as you're attaching them to images). In part for that reason, we've stopped using image keywords; we've found it's much faster to simply enter the words we want in the Description field. So far we've experienced no downside to that.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer have to worry about broken image links in InDesign files! We especially appreciate that time-saving feature when working with InDesign files created before we implemented OpenAsset. The system automatically searches for broken image links and replaces them with functioning links. It's unbelievably easy!

All around, OpenAsset has saved us SO much time by streamlining multiple time-consuming tasks we used to perform one image at a time.

  ### 4. OpenAsset is the perfect picture library asset for our architectural practice

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debra J. | Graphic Design/Brand Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Having worked initially on the local version of OpenAsset, I have to say that the Cloud version is much better and well worth the upgrade.

The interface has been really well planned and is very logical to use. There isn't much I would change.

The use of keywords has been essential for finding exactly what I need to find.

It's the central point for our main project images and saves loads of time searching through multiple drives on our server.

The recent improvements to the Project and Files interface is a vast improvement and the company have been willing to implement some of my suggestions.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I find a lot of Widgets a waste of time, so have stopped using them. I prefer the Projects view as my default home page.

The News widget could be improved to be a bit more like a web page. I would prefer the support to add a forum of some kind to share information with other users. I know the support pages have been upgraded, but that is only useful if you are looking for a solution to a problem that is listed. I would prefer to ask a specific question and have other users give feedback.

Also, sometimes when generating newly uploaded images, it can take a bit too long before you can use them.

I would like, when viewing my project files, to have the option of viewing the Hero image first - maybe make it an option on the right hand side bar?

I don't like the additional cost for adding staff. I feel like that should be part of the package we already pay for.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

For architectural purposes, there really is no other subsitute.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company uses InDesign to build our bid documents… some of us use PCs, some of us use Macs. The use of the InDesign plug-in solves the issue of cross-platform problems.

I've also found the support staff tend to take on board any suggestions I have had and have been quick to fix any issues.

I love the keywords, and before the extra fields were added, such as Client, Start date, Description etc. I was adding a lot of that information in the keywords. I've had to duplicate that information a lot unfortunately, but I still prefer using keywords to search via Client etc.

  ### 5. Great Program, Great Customer Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RACHEL M. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Having our massive project imagery library in one easily accessible portal is an absolute game-changer. We have 13 offices and were constantly getting images lost or deleted in the shared standard folders. Since we have migrated to OA, that frustration is completely removed and it's SO EASY to share specific photos or albums with your team members. The search function is incredible, espcially if you fully utilize tags. I also absolutely love the templates - making our lives so much easier! The customer service has also proven absolutely fantastic - from the migration to OA to ongoing training and technical support.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The new interface that launched earlier this year is not as intuitive as the old one. They swapped the image carousel for a second tab and that's a bit tricky and disappointing.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Organize your images prior to migration and get rid of any "resizing". Only migrate in the original photos to ensure you don't have duplicates. Also - start using tagging from day 1! It's a really amazing tool.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to work seamlessly across 13 offices and easily share images and albums has been a huge efficiency for our firm. The templates are also an incredible tool to keep our deliverables looking consistent across the offices - that was always a major issue before OA.

  ### 6. Easy to Use Search + Organizer for Images

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon W. | Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Search feature works well with plenty of options for filtering, using various keywords, custom categories, etc.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The main issues are due to how my company organizes images. If your organization does a good job of adding keywords, categories, etc to your assets then it makes searching easier.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to upload various images, graphics, project photography, branding resources, and more for everyone in the organization to use. It also allows for tagging external vs internal uses so people know how they can use that image.

  ### 7. Very Useful Asset Management Tool with Strong Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The most helpful feature of OpenAsset is the Drag and Drop plug in which allows for seamless workflow and ensures that links are never broken. The detailed search feature and customization options also make it easy to sift through thousands of files and projects to find relevant content.

The ranking feature allows for a customized look at OpenAsset where the most important images show up first.

Keywords also make sorting and accessing projects very easy. I am able to pull up all LEED projects and then specify which office and which sector which is amazing. This information used to be saved on outdated word documents and excel tables that would require constant updating. The keyword feature has solved this.

I am also excited to fully implement the employee module. It will be very powerful to have the projects linked to the relevant people and pull up experience like that. The option to create an InDesign resume file will allow for very seamless workflow. Currently, resumes have to be updated by hand and this takes a lot of time to make sure things are consistent and current. The Employee Module will hopefully solve this.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

There is a bit of a learning curve because a lot of the features can be so detailed. However, the workshops and customer support team is always very helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Take advantage of the workshops and customer support. A lot of things you may want to do seem overwhelming at first but the support team always has the most efficient way to implement the changes.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign broken links are a thing of the past now that I use OpenAsset. I'm also able to pull up and view images much quicker than I can on my work server.

  ### 8. Data Systems Coordinator

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Attractive UI, very easy to combine search functions. Easy upload, manage, and tag content processes.

Seamless integration between everyday programs like Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.

That there are always new features becoming available like project mapping, find similar images and drag-and-drop to InDesign (CC only).

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The time it takes to tag images during the upload process however this task can be done at any time which is useful.

The system management UI needs to be designed slightly better as it can on occasion take time to find what you are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Work out whether you can integrate it with other systems that you use, as this will be a benefit.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project image storage issues have been resolved freeing up on-premises sever capacity while at the same time putting all images in one location rather than spread over severs and company computers.

  ### 9. We are finally organized!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adriana B. | Marketing & Administrative Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OpenAsset has an excellent support team that is dedicated and responsive to reported bugs and feature requests. The options for customization are limitless, and we are able to use the robust searching and sorting features to perform extremely precise searches.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

We are finding it difficult to get the entire team to adopt the software because it takes practice to navigate the interface quickly.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our marketing collateral generation process is so much faster, and we are much more organized. We know where to go for specific imagery and content.

  ### 10. OpenAsset Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

It is easy to use and it's in the cloud.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The right toolbar does not scroll with you.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Know this is a big project that will take time and not everything will be or has to be done on the first day.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some of our images, specifically PSD and AI files have not been displaying properly.

I have had several employees comment they have really enjoyed the search function and being able to search our images.

  ### 11. Customer friendly interface, very reliable customer service, regular updates and features.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Cloud-based service, team collaboration capabilities (albums, saved searches, etc.), PowerPoint integration

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Not a "Dislike," but the system in more languages would be great, e.g. German

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During Covid19, we sometimes had problems reaching our servers in the office, OpenAsset was a big help because we could use the cloud-based database always and everywhere.

**Official Response from Alex Wetten:**

> Thanks for your feedback! We are currently working on adding German language support to OpenAsset. I'd recommend reaching out to our team if you'd like to learn more about this.

  ### 12. Great media management platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Being able to organise things into categories is useful

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Nothing - the software works great and is very helpful

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Definitely worth looking into - been a very useful system

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to share media with colleagues easily by sending a link

  ### 13. Really solid choice for a searchable image database

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gardner B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OpenAsset allows associates across the firm the ability to search for images and projects without needing to have a deep understanding of our portfolio. Compared to simply saving images in a network drive, OpenAsset gives all our associates way more autonomy to find and use images on their own without relying on a few people to track down the images they're looking for. OpenAsset also integrates really smoothly with PowerPoint and InDesign (two applications we use often), which is a huge advantage.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The uploading of images to OpenAsset is labor intensive and tedious, but I don't think there is any way around that.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have improved the efficiency of our workflow and collaboration across studios. The ability to drag and drop images directly into PowerPoint or InDesign (with the resolution automatically being adjusted to the needs of the specific application) has made the creation of graphic collateral so much faster, especially when pulling images that are used less often.

  ### 14. OpenAsset is a lifesaver/timesaver

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey B. | Owner/President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

It's super intuitive, flexible, and the support team is incredible. It's integration with InDesign has proven invaluable. No more linking issues with file on our servers and between Mac/Windows environments.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Sometimes it is a little hard to find certain setting or features. I have to dig a little bit which can be a bit of a wrench in the works. The cost is also something to consider. Other than that, I can't think of a single downside.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Contact an OA rep, check out the features and decide if the cost is something you can afford. It's absolutely worth it, if you can swing it.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves images on our public website, it allows team members to search our huge database of images, and it helps keep things organized. It's a major timesaver when looking for very specific images. It also reduces team members reaching out asking where something is.

  ### 15. Flexible, searchable, great

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2021

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

We have pretty complex needs- for tags, permissions, access, and more. OpenAsset can easily accommodate all of these-- and load times are fast.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

This is nit picking, but I sometimes wish it was faster to upload and go- but part of the reason it isn't is because of our internal requirements, which make them more useful later.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a place where people could find pictures and look for them using a variety of keywords- while also ensuring we had permission to use them.

  ### 16. Excellent product, excellent service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The interface is clean and simple to use. The Assets are stored as distributed links, so very easy to integrate!

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Nothing at the moment. Honestly can't say anything bad.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a centralised asset system owned and managed internally and that integrates with our website and documents.

  ### 17. Complete image database

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Easy of use combined with cloud platform making it accessible nearly anywhere.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Management of some things like group permissions is rather opaque. Some glitches still persist after several years (inability to store .ai files and correctly generate smaller images, glitches with image processing, etc.)

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

I definitely recommend OpenAsset for any firm with many images that need to be used, tracked, and classified.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making images accessible to all and being able to track them.

  ### 18. Great storage and organization tool for your firms media.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

I love that you can keyword all of your assets to make your search for any asset quick and easy!

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

While a lot of Open Asset features are really helpful, I still dislike that I can't rename files once they have been uploaded.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

This is a great program to help organize and streamline your efficiency in digital asset management.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Open Asset has allowed our team to easily share media and graphics with our entire firm. OA has also helped us better organize all of our data.

  ### 19. Best Digital Asset Management Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

I love the Adobe integration, with InDesign templates and drag and drop into programs like PowerPoint.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Can be difficult to onboard new staff because the software is complicated and requires detailed training.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

It's worth the hard work to set it up. Once you have it running smoothly you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our marketing team has improved our productivity greatly. We can produce up to date resumes and project sheets in seconds instead of hours.

  ### 20. Very easy to use and great technical suport

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OA allows us to save all our images and assets in one central location available 24/7 across all our 16 studios.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Unable to reorder the images once uploaded i.e. if three images are ranked as 1 but you want the third image to appear first in the order.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working across 16 studios in six regions across the world, OA allows us all to access images from a cloud server that provides fast download speeds.

  ### 21. Easy Searchability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

I like being able to find all the photos that I need through searching. I don't have to know the exact project to find what I need. We use our server and our internal organization for project info originally. Using Open Asset has streamlined my process and allows me to spend less time rifling through files. I'm able to use photos and info in InDesign easily and no long have to share a folder of links for other coworkers to work in on the same file.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I don't like having to clear the search field every time I want to search for something new. Upgrading files to hires crashes my computer every time.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easily share images and use them in InDesign without having to package files. It allows us to streamline our process from co-worker to co-worker on shared files.

  ### 22. Great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Very quick, knowledgable, relevant, personal attention, terrific.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The REST API lacks a few features I really need, search for one.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

It's a great platform.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

REST API search

  ### 23. Makes my life so much easier!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline W. | Communications Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

We are an architectural practice with nearly 30 years worth of photography spread across several servers. Open Asset has allowed us to keep track of key shots but also images that have been buried and not seen for a while. It's refreshed our image usage, helps people find specific aspects of each project and keeps our back catalogue alive.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Sometimes it's hard to remember to keep updating drawings that have changed, and it would be good to be able to see more than 4 key pieces of info on the search page.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Take some time keywording images properly as it will save a lot of time down the line

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we redid our website the project would have been completely unmanageable with the help of open asset. Also the added bonus of using it in conjunction with inDesign means we don't have to keep downloading images to use in layouts, or constantly relink.

  ### 24. Image library organization made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruth M. | Marketing Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

We love how easy it is to find an image—whether it's just browsing through the available images of a particular project or looking for the perfect shot to use in marketing materials or client reports. The search capabilities of OpenAsset work really well, and it's so intuitive to use that even new users can find what they need with minimal training.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Nothing. There is literally nothing I can think of that I dislike from a user standpoint. The database management is fantastic, the support team and account managers are great at finding solutions, and the ease-of-use is outstanding.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Spend time deciding how you want to organize your images (through keywords and other fields, such as asset ranks, access levels, and—if appropriate—synced data from another software) before you start to upload your files. It'll save you time in the long run if you already have a robust structure in place. And wait until you have enough tagged assets in your OpenAsset library before you roll out the system to your entire team—if there's insufficient data to be useful when you share your OpenAsset database with your colleagues, they won't see the immediate value in it and may not think it's a useful resource to them. The more tagged images they see as a first impression, the more they'll see its value and the sooner they'll start to use it regularly.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest issue we've always had with asset management is making sure our team can find the right images. We probably have over 25,000 images of 300+ projects, and only a small group of people in the company are familiar with the best images for each project. With OpenAsset, we're able to collate all the project photos, promote the best ones to the top of the rankings, and indicate what image rights we have to each asset, so any member of the team can quickly find what they're looking for, without having to ask help from others. It saves us time—and a lot of headaches!

  ### 25. Straightforward and simple to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate C. | Head of Graphics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Easy search function, it is not complicated to find images. There is a traffic light system on each image which clearly lets users know which images are ok for them to use and which they need to check. Categories provide a simple way to filter types of images, keywords are simple to use and edit. Users can create their own accounts, requiring little administration.

Generally, the system and the set up is really clear and easy to figure out how to use. There is a good library of training videos to point new users too, if they need it. The OpenAsset team is also really helpful, and was very supportive in the initial set up process.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

There is very little to dislike, and OpenAsset often adds new features and improvements. The only feature we want that doesn't exist is an automatic way to tell users to add a minimum number of keywords (or alert them that they haven't added any). This can still be managed manually, so isn't even much of a downside.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenAsset provides an easy to use self service image library – employees are able to find their own content without asking the marketing team constantly for images. The traffic light system is well respected by users, who do check with marketing if told to do so.

OpenAsset is providing a way for different regions to share information easily (in a way we're not able to achieve with server); this has been especially helpful for smaller offices in different time zones.

Although a little complex, we connected OpenAsset to our website, so it also stores and manages the images for our project profiles.

  ### 26. Great tool for engineering companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina M. | Public Relations Manager, Civil Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OA has been a great tool for centralizing our digital assets into one easily accessible location, instead of multiple servers across the country. We love that it syncs to Deltek so that all of our project information is connected to the pictures and files. As a graphic designer, the ability to drop photos into InDesign and eliminating linking photos to a server has been crucial to our marketing teams who have multiple people from different locations working in the same files.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I wish that I could add keywords to the system as I am looking at a picture and tagging them. Instead, I have to write them down and go to the area where you manually add the keywords. It would save a step and make the keyword organization component easier to maintain.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No longer linking InDesign photos to servers, easy to scroll through photos instead of having to download from a remote server.

  ### 27. Huge Timesaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara W. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Being able to search across multiple criteria to get targeted results and create presentation pieces on the spot.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Adding projects is time-consuming when you have as many criteria as we have set up in our system but that is not unique to OpenAsset. We have used other systems and it's the same across the board.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to quickly create a "book" of examples for our internal clients and send them a down and dirty presentation with basic information, or use a PowerPoint or InDesign template to create a more polished result in a matter of minutes. And, while we're not at this point yet, our clients will be able to do this for themselves soon - saving us time.

  ### 28. Great product, even greater customer service.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Open Asset is one of the few software companies that actually makes you feel like a client of services. They are always willing to down with you and talk about your needs and what they can do to improve your experience. I also can't believe such software exists. It's incredibly easy to just drag images off of the website to use in presentations and Indesign documents... it's a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

It still feels like a fairly new company. They are always rolling out updates, which unfortunately aren't run in conjunction with Adobe products - thus causing issues and making all of the other paired software to become buggy. At times, some of the functionality like drag and drop feels janky and needs a couple of tries to make it work, but overall, it doesn't change my mind on using Open Asset.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Make sure you utilize all of the tagging systems for the best experience!

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Open Asset makes it incredibly easy to link images to my documents so I'm not having to package and re-package files. We also work off of a server and my work might get touched and edited by several other people so it really saves a step in making sure everything is where it should be.

  ### 29. Ease of finding the image you're looking for

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

I like that I can search multiple keywords to find exactly what I'm looking for without having to spend a lot of time. I also like that I have the ability to control adding/deleting/editing them as needed. I really like the user-friendly interface and that there are multiple ways to search for information.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I dislike that I cannot add/delete Fields without having to email an OpenAsset account manager. I also dislike that some of the information linked from Vision doesn't display correctly, or links the wrong field.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding the images/information I'm looking for quick, easy and at a glance. It's solving the problem of that Deltek Vision is not user friendly and not everyone in our firm has access so it's nice that it integrates with it as well. I also like that the interface presents the information much clearer and is user friendly compared to Deltek Vision.

  ### 30. We have noticed increases in productivity and marketing processes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dulcie T. | Marketing Manager , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Having a centralized database to store companies digital assets. We have 4 studios (3 in Alberta and 1 in Saskatchewan).
Simple integration with InDesign/Adobe and Powerpoint.
Cloud based - I can easily access when working remote.
Able to easily locate images through tagging - it's so efficient and has saved our team a great amount of time when it comes to locating images and producing proposals.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

No major comments here. The integration with Vision can be a bit tricky and now we are locked out of OA entirely so currently troubleshooting with our tech team and OA - .

Image cropping needs tuning - and it would be nice to have the ability to email images directly from OA to a client.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

N/A

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized database to store digital assets.
Easily able to share project information and images across all studios.
Able to easily locate images through tagging - it's so efficient and has saved our team a great amount of time when it comes to locating images and producing proposals.

  ### 31. Makes Life Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron R. | Marketing Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The best part of OpenAsset is how intuitive and accessible it is. It also seamlessly integrates with programs we use every day, like InDesign and PowerPoint.
I also appreciate the fact that it is not a stagnant product, they are always making it better. Features like find similar images, project mapping with google maps, and true drag-and-drop to InDesign have been added since we began using it.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Cloud hosting has had hiccups a few times, which slowed access to a crawl.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing project images for marketing across 15 offices. Without OpenAsset, it would be nearly impossible.

  ### 32. Ricca Design Studios

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The support staff with OpenAsset is INCREDIBLE. They are always ready to teach and have such patience with a learning team. OpenAsset is being integrated into our company for use, and everyone with OpenAsset training/support are the reason we are able to do so.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

There are a few platforms in the making currently that we could really use, but it's still great to hear OpenAsset furthering their platform for their clients!

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

WORTH IT.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The easy access to project info & images has been a life saver (coming from the graphic designer). It's user interface is very easy to navigate and the benefits of linking with Ajera is genius. As far as problem solving, the difficult part is to get everyone on board and trained up at once.

  ### 33. A saving grace

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahrette S. | Miss, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

It is great to be able to download images in pre-set sizes and to just drop and drag images into presentations.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

you need to be careful how you search for things - you need to be very specific

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

It is easy to use and the team is extremely good in taking feedback and making changes

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

sharing files within the business - giving key people in different countries and departments access to everything so that they know what assets we have available

  ### 34. Open Asset

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nyle S. | Marketing/Proposal Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Search-ability, key wording and tagging, and the many useful features. Open Asset has worked well for our team allowing us to utilize and share project and process photos easily. I heavily use the integration with InDesign, but it could use some work.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

When utilizing the InDesign Open Asset plug for dragging and dropping images the temporary folder and files it creates is not ideal. Set up for our InDesign users has caused some troubleshooting, but has eventually worked.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowledge of photo assets company wide. Saving time finding photos.

  ### 35. Centralized & Intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon N. | Senior Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The ease of linking assets without having to store or package them on a server. It keeps things clean.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

It would be great to be able to move large sets of images in batches from one project to another

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Prepare your assets and organize them well prior to migration. You'll have a much better asset foundation.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to make Indesign templates using the OA plugin plus training staff to use OA when creating powerpoint slides.

  ### 36. Accessible to Simplify Workload

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Great program to store and organize images - and easy to pull for collateral

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Need to play around to fully understand program and how to use its features

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

try to implement it to your company especially if you use images on a daily basis. it simplified our files on the networks and it was easy access and extract images for our marketing collateral.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick to place images on PowerPoint, etc. especially during quick turnarounds and tight deadlines

  ### 37. Wonderful program, great customer service!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

What I love about OA is that any of our employees can pull photos, proposals, etc. from it without needing to ask for help. It's very intuitive. Several ways to share images. The connectivity (no lost links) when putting files into InDesign!

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

There are a couple of administrative things that could be improved. Ease of sorting through users,

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Prep your data well. The more information about each image helps set up keyword searches. We used a description field in our excel spreadsheet which carried over to OA.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to keep our files linked in proposals. Ability to share in a variety of ways with anyone in the firm.

  ### 38. Open Asset is a powerful tool in the dwp marketing mix

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill B. | Group Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The segmentation of assets so that everything is easy to find, share and use in a variety of platforms and outputs.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I have no major dislikes at all. It's a very useful platform.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing content across the international group I work in. A variety of content also. Images, video, brand assets, and more.
The benefits are numerous. I like the ability to create a powerpoint in a matter of clicks.

  ### 39. OpenAsset

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

With OpenAsset we've been able to move a lot of images off duplicate servers across Australia and internationally, now our entire team in various locations have quick and easy access to our image library. The project and search features are robust and the ability to drag images directly into inDesign makes this software invaluable to us.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

OpenAsset has so many great features, I am looking forward to seeing the ability to utilise video directly from OpenAsset.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A surprising benefit has been the ability to use OpenAsset to function as a project search tool, it's reduced our reliance on spreadsheets and outdated systems.

  ### 40. Seamless Linking, Sharing, and Organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OpenAsset is a very user-friendly platform that allows everyone in the firm to access our international work through keyword searches, allowing employees to learn more about legacy projects and leverage that knowledge in future work.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The firm is working through how to give access to all and put the right restrictions on confidential or sensitive materials.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The marketing department values nothing over having up-to-date materials and data in an organized fashion. OpenAsset has created a platform for all our offices to maintain their graphic assets for new and legacy projects while leveraging the data we've gathered through Deltek Vision.

  ### 41. Great Digital Asset Managment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Being able to access and organise vast amounts of our digital assets in the one location.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The filtering isn't totally there yet, it would be useful to be able to arrange images into custom categories which doesn't rely on the already existing Ranking system. However, previous communication with OpenAsset has shown me they are constantly developing the platform and listen to customer's feedback to improve the service.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By integrating OpenAsset into my design workflow, it has greatly improved the efficiency and productivity I am able to get from applications like InDesign.

  ### 42. Great way to organize images

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

OA makes it easy for us to organize our 25k+ images in a way that makes it easy to find what you're looking for. The search capability is great. We can find images based on project, keyword, service provided, type of image, and more. Photo albums are also a great way to group images based on other criteria.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

I use photo albums a lot to organize my images, and adding images to photo albums can be clunky as you need to "set" the album you are adding to, then add the photo, then set a different album if you want to add to another album.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenAsset:**

Pricey, but worth it, especially for companies in the A/E/C industry.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have trouble finding appropriate images for our marketing materials. Now we can organize and keyword them so they are available for what we need.

  ### 43. OpenAsset Amps Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

As a professional services marketer, I've always struggled with file structures & finding assets at various firms. OpenAsset created a searchable database with easy tools to integrate our assets into the programs we use the most.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Finding the time and discipline to tag assets as we upload them can be challenging, but the payoff is worth it as we build our database.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are saving SO much time with the document creation tool. Our assets are easily found and there are not multiple copies of the same file all over our network.

  ### 44. Upgrade from previous DAM but user experience needs help

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Very attractive UI, easy to combine search functions. Easy to upload, manage, and tag content.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Navigation can be cumbersome, especially when trying to search for a project instead of assets, or trying to learn more about a project from an asset (too many clicks). Admin controls are spread throughout multiple areas (like Settings wheel and 3 dots 'more' button, why are these separated?)

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making a 30 year archive of project photography accessible and searchable to all users in organization. Previous DAM was not user- or admin-friendly.

  ### 45. OpenAsset has helped us get organized

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Having all of our photos in one central location and being able to link to projects/project numbers in Deltek Vision; ensuring we are uploading to the correct project. We also love being able to key word and narrow down our search as much as needed.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Not being able to upload via a mobile app; however, I believe this is changing very soon which will help our organization immensely.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OpenAsset has allowed our company to search for photos from anywhere. We used to keep our photos on a network drive and could only access them if we were connected. Also, the ease of being able to drag and drop photos into the programs we use (InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) has helped tremendously as well.

  ### 46. One of the most helpful things in my toolbox!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

I love that I can search the DAM for anything and get results almost instantly. I have instant access to almost our entire photo library at a glance, which is huge for me, especially when traveling.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The interface is not the most attractive, but I don't mind that much because the tool is so useful. I also think the integration with InDesign could be improved. We submitted template layouts and working with them is still a little bit clunky...not as seamless as we would have liked.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that this DAM is cloud-based has really helped my workflow. I can access this while traveling, which is a huge plus for me.

  ### 47. OpenAsset Feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan L. | Marketing and Proposal Coordinator, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The ease of use between OpenAsset and InDesign has thoroughly improved our work flows dramatically. It is seamless accessibility.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The technical downflaws of OpenAsset seem to be in a consistent basis on day to day use. But the technical support staff work with us constantly to improve these.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our ability to incorporate project images into our marketing packages has benefited us dramatically in time management.

  ### 48. Open Asset for the WIN!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aloise T. | Marketing Director, Architecture & Planning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

Open Asset has unlimited tagging, keywording, captioning options which I use constantly. I need it to integrate with Photoshop!

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

Open Asset has improved their platform so much over the years (user since at least mid-2000s) there is nothing I dislike.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Searching / Keywording / contact sheets are the most useful.

  ### 49. OpenAsset has proven to be an excellent solution for storing and organizing our project photography.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenAsset?**

The search functionality and the ability to apply labels both at the project and asset level has vastly improved workflow when putting together presentations and marketing materials, and for tracing down precedent images to share with clients. Also, the idesign integration if a huge time-saver.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

The UI can be a little confusing/counter-intuitive. They seem to be actively improving this, though, and it hasn't been a serious concern.

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed with which we can now retrieve images based on their searchable labels in OA is huge.

  ### 50. cross platform solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

fast connection to portfolio when remote from servers.
solution to linking images between mac's and pc's.

**What do you dislike about OpenAsset?**

lack of capabilities to share albums with people who don't have an openasset account in your organization

**What problems is OpenAsset solving and how is that benefiting you?**

increased knowledge of portfolio by finding images with metadata
