The best thing I like about signal is that it is open source so we don't have to worry about how our data is being handled. and also it end to end encrypted so no body can intercept and read our texts and calls this gives me extra relief. Earlier I used to use whatapp and telagram as part of my primary messaging but since I switched to signal my digital life has got a little secured this gave me peace of mind because although whatsapp says data is end to end encrypted I still doubt it and telegram chats are never by default end to end encrypted so signal gave me that assurance that my data is safe. The signal app is a great message communication tool that is encrypted and protects you from anyone trying to see what you are talking about. There are tons of features that I personally like in signal - 1. Cross Platform. Due to the unavailability of the web version of Signal, I use the application on my phone and Desktop. 2. Synchronization is fast and secure. When you uninstall the application on one device but continue to use it on another, the second device doesn't contain the messages that were exchanged through the first device. From the privacy point of view, I personally like this feature. 3. I also use Signal as my note-taking application. "Note to Self" is something I use every day for exchanging links, texts, and media between my devices. 4. The UI/UX is also minimal, clean, and uncluttered. It's easy to use and easy on the eyes. 5. The "Privacy" option comes with multiple choices to configure my conversation settings and it's highly useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Signal? I wish Signal had its web version, too. Although the desktop application seems to be working fine, it comes with its own performance issues. I use Ubuntu 16.04 and the application unexpectedly crashes now and then. Another thing is notifications on the phone - there's no notification pushed when the texts are sent over "note to self" from one device to another device. Privacy is a big concern for me and I'm almost paranoid about it. I've been using Signal for over three years and it has never disappointed me. Using signal gives me a sense of security as I do not wish my personal data to be shared with third parties and I don't want an application to collect or store my data, messages, and logs.
