**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The complete overview of all content pieces and to quickly move around posts as things and timings change. Also the look back to recycle best performing posts and assets from the past. Really easy to use once you are used to it and the connection to other tools like Sprinklr is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The first days are not easy because the tool offers quite a lot of possibilities. But after that, it is really easy to use.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All posts, assets, channels, copies, images in one place. Collobarion via teams and other countries and markets is really easy and useful.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

  ### 2. Opal for Social Media

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Opal?**

As a social media manager, we create a lot of content each month. I love creating a mock post within the platform itself so you do not have to click out to watch our videos play. My favorite feature is the presentation. Being able to put our content together this way and send for approval really streamlines the process.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I wish I could more easy duplicate and move content around. It would be nice to be able to mass duplicate and move an entire list over to a specific board.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content organization, planning, and sharing.

**Official Response from Lee Dussinger:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Opal as a social media manager. I'm delighted to hear that our true-to-life content previews and presentation features have helped streamline your approval process! While it is not exactly the same, you are able to move a collection or list of content from one board to another. Ask your CSM to see how to do it.

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I have used the software as a Marketer to build marketing plans, create & montly content calendar. It's a seamless platform that integrates well and easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I feel like the content previews can be improved upon.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a seamless platform, gives to ease of scheduling content, visual appeal to the posts and content calendar. It has helped me with overall marketing management, which I'm grateful for.

  ### 4. Great tool to coordinate across matrix'd marketing orgs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Allows for many disparate marketing teams to be able to align on marketing plans and execution. Everyone gets to have the visibility. Then those that need to collaborate between the inputs vs the execution have a place to track.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Like anything that tried to address complex business processes, the tools sometimes can feel complex at first. you really need a strong change management and enablement program to facilitate the rollout.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

a single source of truth for the marketing projects..all the creative inputs and all the execution/promotion plans of record

**Official Response from Lee Dussinger:**

> Thank you for sharing your insights on how Opal is your single source of truth for marketing! I appreciate your feedback about the platform's ability to align disparate teams while providing necessary visibility and collaboration capabilities...that is one of the most important things Opal does!

  ### 5. Opal Has Some Work to Do Before I Recommend It

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like the look and design of Opal. However, the funcationality needs improvement. I like the customer support that Opal provides and had only good experiences talking with their team. Overall, it has a number of features that are helpful. It's somewhat easy to use and can be learned quickly.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal is buggy, and seems to be in a development stage still. There were times when you click and nothing happens, or links may be broken. There are missing features too that are specific to the social platforms. This is something that can be improved upon is aligning with the current platform formats, layouts, etc.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal solves the problem of having many, many different teams and people involved in social media approval process. It serves as a home where all the parties can come together and review/approve content easily. This is extremely helpful when teams are quite large and spread across the business. However, it is not the easiest to navigate right away and like anything has a learning curve.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> I’m glad that the UX and design of Opal resonate with you. In addition, it’s good to know that you’ve had positive experiences with our support team – I’ll be sure to pass that along to them. I’m sorry, though, that you’ve had trouble with bugs and other issues. Please consider contacting your CSM about these challenges so we can begin to work through them.

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The ability to collaborate easily across teams in a big organization. Everything you need is in one place.

**Official Response from Lee Dussinger:**

Nothing really. Some times it glitches a bit and assets dont load. But more often than not it works great and is easy to use.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal has allowed us to clearly view and review marketing campaigns all in one place. While you can build decks, those images are never large enough or high res enough to read digitally. Opal lets us see the larger overview of creative and how were coming to market.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

It helps keep teams on the same page with daily marketing calendar, aligning our content across platforms. It's easy and simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The calendar view can be quite buggy after adding a new moment. For example, if I add a moment, and try to add additional properties, it will often clear them out after adding them, causing me to add them again. This is a headache when I'm trying to add details for moments within the boards view.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing what is happening on other teams and making sure campaigns aren't overlapping.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

Opal is very easy to learn as most things are intuitive. Opal makes it extremely easy to collaborate on creative with clients. You're able to see exactly what creative is supposed to look like in each platform and can easily copy and paste copy/headlines into ads and download assets. That everything can exist in one place. Approvals, actual assets, links, chat section, stories, etc.

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Seeing content in final form and approval que

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

It could provide suggestions on how to make social content more engaging. Also the emails are excessive. It should also have a list of who the approvers are and why you are selected as an approver. I wish it was integrated into outlook.

  ### 24. Source of truth for content marketing campaigns & collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I've used Opal since 2014 as part of two different organizations. I've seen the evolution of the software product as Opal listens to its customers as well as innovates on solutions you didn't know you needed, but are now part of everyday work in Opal.

Opal helps companies collaborate in a meaningful way across teams, functions and marketing communication channels. You can visualize the content in idea formation (Boards) as well as final planned content and campaigns (Calendar). The Opal workspaces are highly configurable and flexible to meet our different businesses and teams' needs. You can filter to your team's specific work or expand to view the company level of content plans for visibility and better alignment/consistency.

Opal's calendar is a source of truth for my team's campaigns currently in market, and it's something my team uses daily. With chat & activity history and user workflows, teams can refine, review and approve content to create the finished product. One integration with our social media publishing software helps save time and minimize error by delivering completed and approved content into our publish queue.

One of my favorite features is the ability to create shareable Opal content presentations in just a few clicks. This has saved me countless hours over the years I've been using Opal and has replaced manually creating the presentation decks. Not only do the presentations look sharp, but they update in real-time as content plans change (as they often do!). Presentations are available to non-Opal users and best of all, Opal provides insight on who has actually viewed them.

With any new technology, a large measure of success is user adoption. Opal has a great variety of onboarding and ongoing training materials, in addition to a learning center. It's important to have executive support, set early expectations and have an ongoing committment for how Opal will be integrated into everyday work.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

At the admin level, there aren't readily available user analytics to view at any time, but my Opal customer success rep is able to report those on a regular basis.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps companies collaborate in a meaningful way across teams, functions and marketing communication channels. You can visualize the content in idea formation (Boards) as well as final planned content and campaigns (Calendar). Opal's calendar is a source of truth for my team's campaigns currently in market, and it's something my team uses daily.

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The interface (specifically the calender overview and boards) give me and my team the information we need at a glance. We've found great use out of the customizable workflow tool, approval and task assignments. We use it everyday. We would not be able to run a smooth process without Opal. I found so much success with this tool for social media that I actually integrated my other team on to the platform as well!

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The only thing I would change about Opal is the presentation view. I wish I could export presentations and share with people in my org that do not have Opal with the capability for them to leave comments and reviews on the deck without them having a seat.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps my team get visibility in to each others work. We love that we are able to see what progress is being made on specific campaigns using the workflow function. It also helps keep us organized and plan ahead while being able to easily access what type of content we have produced in the past.

  ### 26. Modern and Innovative Way to Plan Communications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I absolutely love "moments" and the way you can view them (calendar view). It's also super helpful that we can tag other folks in the comments. It's especially helpful that we can assign folks to tasks as well. I haven't seen many other platforms that are this innovative and blend so well into my every day work. I really love "Stamps" as well, it's an efficient way to work quickly without repeating processes.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The name "Stories" is quite misleading coming form an internal comms perspective. When I hear the term "story" I think of an actual article, but "Stories" seem to be ongoing campaigns that go on for a certain amount of days. I didn't really understand what stories were and I still call them campaigns.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is causing myself and my team members to communicate better. An example of this would be interacting in the comments and giving updates on projects, along with assigning tasks to folks to make projects as clear as possible. This benefits me and keeps me accountable as well.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Great example of how the comments features make your projects more clear. Opal frequently helps teams step out of silos, so I’m glad to hear that was your experience as well. I’ll make sure to share with the team how naturally Opal has fit into your daily workflow.

  ### 27. Great platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

1) visualization
2) team collaboration and sharing
3) UX / ease of use

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

1) Integration into other tools/apps
2) On-boarding of tool

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of allowing teams to organize ideas, tasks, calendars, and impending launches.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Firstly, thank you for the outstanding review! Delivering team collaboration through visualization is one the hallmarks of our platform. In addition, we take a tremendous amount of pride in our UX – and I’ll absolutely pass your feedback on to our designers. Thank you for the feedback and for being an Opal user!

  ### 28. Strong content planning tool that allows for collaboration + visualization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Ability to plan content in formats/layouts that are realistic to the platform; asset storage; built in workflows to streamline processes across teams; Variety of platform options; Visual tool at heart; Sections of collaboration that can happen otuside of the calendar (ex: Boards)

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Inability to publish directly to social platforms, despite all the planning capabilities; Minimal organization inside the Asset Library (sub-folders, etc); Desire to mock up all publishing executions to the fullest capacity, yet some elements have not yet caught up to all 'feature options'

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is solving the problems around content calendar/planning + all reviews/approvals that go into that process before released to consumers - a cloud-based solution that makes it easy to keep projects moving, store all approved assets and reducing team time spent making other layouts + presentations of the work being done (thanks to the Presentations feature)

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We appreciate hearing that Opal is solving your content planning and calendaring – as well as the workflow that goes along with it. Helping to organize a full schedule of content is one of the places our platform truly shines. Also, I’m glad to hear the presentations are saving you time as well. Have you looked into integrating Opal with your social publisher? We have integrations with the top social media publishers, like Hootsuite, Khoros, Dash Hudson, and more.

  ### 29. Effective scheduling and distribution platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lara E. | Senior Content and Social Media Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The calendar views let me dynamically select and deselect views to get an overview of the social and content posts that are most relevant to see.

The team are always very supportive and like an extention of our own social team.

I also appreciate how it integrates with Sprinklr to remove duplicate work.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

There are many fields to fill in, but your organisation can configure to what you need and that streamlines processes further down the line.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us full visibility of blogs and social across the business so we can streamline processes and avoid duplication.

  ### 30. Marketing teams to share and manage creative assets

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Opal?**

It’s helpful for marketing teams to manage their workflows and collaborate by sharing creative assets efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Searching for a title or moment with the same name can be quite difficult.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to share creative assets across various marketing teams, but occasionally, it can be challenging to find or search for specific items.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> I am glad you are utilizing workflows to keep content on track! When it comes to searching for content in Opal, we suggest utilizing your labels to filter down to exactly what you need, or use our jump feature to get to the exact piece of content you need to reference. If you think there is an opportunity to improve your labels, please reach out to your customer success manager to work through potential updates.

  ### 31. Opal streamlines everything

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love seeing the different calendar views and see what campaigns are going out weekly/monthly. I also like attaching my moments to certain stamps that reflect my campaigns.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I don't have any issues with Opal. The platform is user friendly and caters to my needs.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal allows me and our leadership to see what stories we're telling at any given time. This provides insight for my execs and keeps them in the loop with our corporate storytelling and intiatives.

  ### 32. Robust but complex tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal is a fantastic platfom for mulitple teams to connect and share materials.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal always feels complex and makes me not want to use it. It feels like it takes multiple click/redundant ways to share content/feedback. It feels like it is made for an employee who has abundant time to spend in the tool. Unfortunately, many do not have the time.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal lets my team collaborate and view content calendars in advance to help coordinate content across multiple channels.

  ### 33. Fantastic Content Management for Marketing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like the ease of function to manage and prioritize content. Unlike other file management tools, Opal offers the opportunity to organize and manage your content so that you can keep track of everything and implement by priority of your choosing.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

My biggest issue with Opal is that the user interface can initially be a little overwhelming. On some screens, options are not as intuitive and I can easily spend a few minutes searching for my destination

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of the amount of content we produce for marketing. With the sheer amount of content we product it could get out of hand, but Opal helps us keep track of everything for different campaigns.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Managing a huge amount of content slated for publication is a common challenge. Helping marketers handle their content is one of the ways that Opal shines. It’s awesome that this has been your experience as well. Thank you for using Opal in your content program and for leaving us a review!

  ### 34. Campaign Collaboration

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Visualization of campaign across channels.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Another tool on top of all of the others we use - more integrations to streamline.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not really seeing it take hold - we have it, yet people are still using powerpoint to communicate/visualize the plan.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Visualizing your marketing campaigns across channels is one of the most crucial reasons teams use Opal. However, I’m sorry to hear that your org is struggling with getting everyone on board. Please consider contacting your CSM to assist with additional support to bring the value of Opal to your teams.

  ### 35. Opal excellent for content and marketing calendars

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Libraries | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love the visual element and flexibility of using Opal for a variety of different content and marketing calendars. It's easy to visualize, can be linked to other stories with related information and is customizable to meet our specific needs. We love being able to capture all of our content in one place where it's easy to access, update and organize as needed.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

There are a few features that are not as flexible or automatic as we'd like.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to more easily share calendars with the team and provide a visual representation of the calendar to make it more easily digestible.

  ### 36. Great project management for Product Launches and Campaigns

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I thought it was pretty easy to use and implement across our marketing organization. The customer support wasn't too helpful but they were able to get some of the features that we needed. We used Opal daily in our meetings to run instead of meeting notes. Integration with our existing processes could use some more work

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I found initially, the sorting was not easy to use. The interface seems a bit outdated but I was able to still get the job done.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management tool for organizing product launches and collaboration on campaigns.

  ### 37. Clear boards with easy navigation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

We use it to prepare and schedule global organic social posts. I love the fact that we can make a board per country and it's easily accessed. Also, there's only a few steps to make content live. communication and alerts are also very helpful when wanting to get content approved. For large global teams, it's great!

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I'd like to test more options in Boards before submitting them for review. More like a grou work in progress.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having one source of truth for global content

  ### 38. Creative Campaign Trafficking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

- easy to use, intuitive interface
- uploading assets is quick and easy
- moments are great way to test and preview content

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I haven't figured how to add unscheduled moments to presentations, but that would be a great feature. Sometimes we use presentations as a way to group or batch campaign assets for review when multiple campaigns are running at a time.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal helps ensure creative trafficking is accurate by allowing us to preview creative before it goes into the platform(s).

  ### 39. Overall, a great tool for enterprise communications organization.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Overall, it's a complex tool that is hard to get used to. Once you get used to it, I think there are a lot of benefits. I especially like the ability to track a large amount of events in one place.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

It takes a bit of time to get used to the UX on the Opal platform, however, once you learn the little nuances it becomes fairly intuitive.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

visibility across multiple areas of the company

  ### 40. Great for small teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kari M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

The various ways to project manage and campaign plan are awesome

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The licenses and seats required even for just content reviewers

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past they've solved creating labels and content type labels for organizing our content

  ### 41. Great for organization, collaboration and content visualization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsey G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal has been a great content visualization and organization tool for our team. It helps us to stay on track, saves us time having meetings and enables an overall easier process for content reviews and approvals. The app is also handy in being able to quickly comment back and forth as well as grab assets and copy on the go to publish content. Our team loves being able to visualize the different types of content exactly as how they would look on the platform. The content library is nice to have and pull from as well. We have newly started using Boards more often, which enables greater collaboration in a variety of ways, including sharing our weekly priorities, having our own private To Do boards, project focused boards, and boards for specific purposes, such as to share new articles and trends, parking lot ideas, inspiration, and brainstorming and planning. Overall I would recommend it, especially to remote teams like us for more efficient collaboration. Lastly, I have to mention that the Opal support team is excellent! I honestly have not encountered such high touch, caring account support teams that deal with any issues encountered right away with unlimited calls and emails to ensure we're using Opal to the best of our ability. Hats off to their team! We are very happy with service!

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Since Opal is a startup, it can be wonky with some bugs at times, such as deleted everythin you had written in Text Editor without saving or being down at times. However, contacting support is easy and they work quickly to resolve your issues as soon as possible.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal is benefitting us by allowing for greater collaboration remotely, saving us time with the content review and approval process. Opal also helps us easily visualize all of our content across platforms and have it all in one place to view. We love it!

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We appreciate hearing that content visualization is paying off for you – that is one of the cornerstones of Opal. Thank you for the kind words for our support team – I passed this along to them already. Thank you for taking time out of your day to write a review of Opal!

  ### 42. Great tool, needs full org buy-in and time to adopt.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caiden L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Opal was clearly designed thoughtfully, intentionally, and with users' biggest pain points and challenges in the content process, in mind. The people are insanely helpful - from the sales process to the onboarding to the ongoing support - and they absolutely want to see you succeed, even when they don't fully grasp what you need initially. They also are clearly committed to innovating and area always updating the platform.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

The platform feels very all-or-nothing, and it's really time consuming compared to the tools we were planning on kililng in order to replace with Opal. We had a really hard time adopting and using it as part of our regular process and so after many attempts throughtout various team mates and campaigns, we gave up (despite having paid for 6 months).

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility on a campaign at a high exec level, easily exporting components of a campaign, even as assets changed the link that is shared remains the same.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We're pleased to hear that Opal is effectively solving challenges related to campaign visibility, exporting campaign components, and maintaining consistent links. These aspects contribute to enhancing your team's workflow and efficiency, and it's great to know that Opal is delivering value in these areas. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for being an Opal customer.

  ### 43. Opal Makes You a Better Brand Story Teller. PERIOD.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 😃 Kenji O. | Global Social Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Opal?**

For brands who are serious about story telling, Opal allows you to plan and visualize your narratives both at a 35 thousand foot view, but also easily see what's happening at every moment.

This allows brand content marketers to better tell stories and narratives at cadances that are easy to understand, change and communicate/collaborate with key stakeholders on.

Opal is built to help people like you tell better stories, collaborate more and help everybody understand what narratives are being told and when. It will be your place of truth.

Furthermore, the Opal team is just really, really cool to work with -- out of all the platform success teams I've worked with, I've found them the most helpful, the most responsive and the most just "they get it" when I talk to them. Their team really is a feature within itself.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I don't have much to put here to be honest - I guess if I had to be nit picky is that it can be that sometime some of the previews or mockups don't always 100% show up how they will "out-in-the-wild". This is very minor however and not something that would ever hold me up.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main one is helping our strategic planning. With the ability to easily map out narratives, it's easy to understand what is happening, on what channels, when and what it looks like -- across a variety of devices.

It also allows us to have one place of truth - where everyone can look and see "oh, that's what's happening". There's no need to look across various emails, spreadsheets, or decks to try to figure it out.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for this outstanding five-star review! Opal was built specifically for brand storytellers like yourself, so it is absolutely wonderful to hear you’re getting so much value from it. Being a source of truth for creative people running omni-channel campaigns is a key tenet of our platform – so hearing this is tremendous as well. I will absolutely pass this stellar review along to our entire team!

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I like they ability to create presentions over the content you're able to organize in the boards

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I dislike the bugs when coming out of boards.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving lots organizing and processing issues.

  ### 45. Opal is a powerful platform that works great for collaborating teams.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

It can be a challenge to visualize different elements across multiple marketing campaigns, but Opal makes it easy. I appreciate seeing the timing of different elements across the calendar and being able to drill down to specific assets.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Opal has powerful tools but it often feels like you must tailor your campaign around the platform, rather than the other way around. If you're running your marketing and campaigns a certain way, it can be tricky to set it up in a way that makes sense in Opal.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team had a problem organizing the different elements and timing of our marketing campaigns. We spent too much time just trying to stay in sync. Opal made it easier to view who is involved with what, when it's happening and how. It's made our meetings more efficient and the overall workflow more straightforward and direct.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Visualizing all of the different elements of a marketing campaign is challenging for sure. Glad to hear Opal has given you clarity and visibility here. Spending more time doing marketing and less time working to stay in-sync is one of the key benefits of using Opal. Thank you for writing a review and for being an Opal user!

  ### 46. Love Opal!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love the previews the platform provides for social media usage. I also LOVE the presentation feature. It makes sharing my work for approvals and working with cowoerks easier thane ever. Opal is user-friendly and has made managing my editorial calendar 100x easier.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

My least favorite part about Opal is the feedback/review and tracked editing features. It is difficult to track changes on long-form projects and there is not a streamlined way to provide feedback. Our team uses the chat feature for reviews, but it would be great if there was a more precise way to leave comments on a piece of content.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Opal allows us to maintain an organized and widely shared editorial calendar. Everything I need is organized in one place and finding archived work is super easy in Opal. The search feature is great!

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Making collaboration and approvals smoother is at the core of our platform, and we're delighted that it's helping you work seamlessly with your colleagues. It's fantastic to know that Opal has significantly improved your editorial calendar management! I’ll be sure to pass your glowing review along to our team!

**Reviewed by:** Cam F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Opal?**

Integrations with other social apps, ease of use

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

  ### 48. Seamless way to keep posts across platforms organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah B. | Social Content, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I enjoy how realistic the posts look within the platform. Because they realistically mimic how the posts will look on-platform, it makes it easier to make edits. I'm also a big fan of how easy it is to collaborate with the rest of my team on the platform. I can just tag others for review and they'll be notified via email.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

There was a recurring glitch when creating threads for Twitter/X. My teammates were not able to delete posts so they would just show up as blank which was really annoying. This was eventually resolved but took some time and made writing threads a headache.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to keep an organized editorial calendar for our social presence across platforms. It makes it much easier to track our posting frequency, and makes collaboration across platforms seamless.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Opal's true-to-life content previews, easy collaboration features, and the ability to tag team members for review have been valuable for you. Providing an accurate representation of how posts will appear on-platform and promoting seamless collaboration within your team is essential. ### 49. Excellent for organizing creative and assets for organic and paid social

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** NORA D. | Paid Social Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Opal?**

I love that it displays assets in a Moment that can be aligned with a specific creative campaign or event. It helps also organize assets by platform so it is clear when we receive the assets which social platform needs to run what creative.
I have also seen Opal updating their placements for platforms quickly as soon as they become available; great at responding to needs.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

I do not like the flow when downloading creative. The fact that I need to click on the specific asset first and then download is cumbersome. It forces me to go back to pull the copy in a different view.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creative trafficking is much easier when using Opal. Assets are organized in time as well as per campaign. It solves many problems around creative and drives efficiency.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> We love hearing that Opal organizes your assets and connects them with the right campaigns. Solving problems and driving efficiency for marketers is one of our primary goals! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and for being a customer!

  ### 50. Best user friendly and intuitive project management tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vijay P. | Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Opal?**

It is very user friendly and easy to use. The look and feel is outstanding, very easy to understand and use. You can view all the social media assets at one place to take informed decisions and view the asset type as per the guidelines. The weekly view and monthly view is simply amazing, especially while presenting it to the leadership, they can view everything at one place and suggest any changes.

**What do you dislike about Opal?**

Approval process could be better and the notifications can be well mantained. There are some issues with starting the workflow sometimes otherwise it's a great tool.

**What problems is Opal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduce the frequency of emails and back and forth with the asset approvals from different stakeholders. This tool brings all tje stakeholders together and the approvals is what makes it easier than before.

**Official Response from Katie Pocklington:**

> Thank you for your outstanding 5 star review – I’ll be sure to pass this along to the team. Providing a seamless and visually appealing experience is important to us, and we're delighted that you find it outstanding and easy to understand.
